virginity.” And they shall spread out the cloth before the city elders.

despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king

It is as
sport to a
fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
The
fool delights in shameful
conduct, but a man of understanding has wisdom.
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
Even a young man is known by his actions— whether his conduct is pure and upright.
The way of man is
froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.
The way of a guilty man is
crooked, but the
conduct of the innocent is upright.
For what hath the wise more than the
fool? what hath the poor, that knoweth to walk before the living?
What advantage, then, has the wise man over the
fool? What gain comes to the poor man who knows how to
conduct himself before others?
The king shall
mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with
desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
The king will
mourn, the prince will be clothed with
despair, and the hands of the people of the land will
tremble. I will deal with them according to their
conduct, and I will judge them by their own standards. Then they will know that I am the LORD.’”
But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their
detestable things and their abominations, I will
recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD.
But as for those whose hearts pursue
detestable things and abominations, I will bring their
conduct down upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.”
Yet, behold, therein shall be left a
remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.
Yet, behold, some survivors will be left in it—sons and daughters who will be brought out. They will come out to you, and when you see their
conduct and actions, you will be comforted regarding the
disaster I have brought upon Jerusalem—all that I have brought upon it.
And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.
They will bring you
consolation when you see their
conduct and actions, and you will know that it was not without cause that I have done all these things within it,’ declares the Lord GOD.”

hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are
ashamed of thy
lewd way.

hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who were
ashamed of your
lewd conduct.

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil.
Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
For rulers are not a terror to good
conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the one in authority? Then do what is right, and you will have his
approval.
Let no man therefore
despise him: but
conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.

For our
rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly
sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
And this is our
boast: Our conscience testifies that we have
conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in relation to you, in the
holiness and
sincerity that are from God—not in worldly wisdom, but in the grace of God.
Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind
striving together for the faith of the gospel;
Nevertheless,
conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit,
contending side by side for the faith of the gospel,
Ye are witnesses, and God also, how
holily and justly and unblameably we
behaved ourselves among you that believe:
You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous, and
blameless our
conduct was among you who believed.
But if I
tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to
behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the
pillar and ground of the truth.
in case I am delayed, so that you will know how each one must
conduct himself in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the
pillar and foundation of the truth.
Let no man
despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in
conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
You, however, have observed my teaching, my
conduct, my purpose, my faith, my
patience, my love, my
perseverance,
Who is a wise man and
endued with knowledge among you? let him
shew out of a good conversation his works with
meekness of wisdom.
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good
conduct, by deeds done in the
humility that comes from wisdom.
And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your
sojourning here in fear:
Since you call on a Father who judges each one’s work impartially,
conduct yourselves in
reverent fear during your stay as foreigners.
Having your conversation
honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold,
glorify God in the day of
visitation.
Conduct yourselves with such honor among the Gentiles that, though they
slander you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and
glorify God on the day He visits us.
And delivered just Lot,
vexed with the
filthy conversation of the wicked:
and if He
rescued Lot, a righteous man distressed by the
depraved conduct of the lawless
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and
godliness,
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to
conduct yourselves in
holiness and
godliness Thou hast saved thy life, in that thou hast hasted to come down to the presence of our lord: now therefore come to his tent, and some of us shall conduct thee, until they have delivered thee to his hands.
Wherefore they that will depart shall have safe
conduct till the
thirtieth day of Xanthicus with security.
