And the young man
deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob’s daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.
The young man, who was the most respected of all his father’s household, did not
hesitate to
fulfill this request, because he was
delighted with Jacob’s daughter.
And the LORD thy God will make thee
plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again
rejoice over thee for good, as he
rejoiced over thy fathers:
So the LORD your God will make you abound in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your
womb, the offspring of your
livestock, and the produce of your land. Indeed, the LORD will again delight in your goodness, as He
delighted in that of your fathers,
And Saul spake to
Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
Then Saul ordered his son
Jonathan and all his servants to kill David. But
Jonathan delighted greatly in David,
But
Jonathan Saul’s son
delighted much in David: and
Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take
heed to
thyself until the morning, and
abide in a secret place, and hide
thyself:
so he
warned David, saying, “My father Saul intends to kill you. Be on your guard in the morning; find a secret place and hide there.
He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
He brought me out into the open; He
rescued me because He
delighted in me.
Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.
Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you to set you on the throne of Israel. Because of the LORD’s eternal love for Israel, He has made you king to carry out justice and righteousness.”
Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the LORD thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.
Blessed be the LORD your God, who has
delighted in you to set you on His throne to be king for the LORD your God. Because your God loved Israel enough to establish them
forever, He has made you king over them to carry out justice and righteousness.”
And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells
digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and
delighted themselves in thy great goodness.
They captured fortified cities and fertile land and took houses full of all goods, wells already
dug, vineyards, olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance. So they
ate and were filled; they grew fat and
delighted in Your great goodness.
In the evening she went, and on the
morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the
custody of Shaashgaz, the king’s
chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king
delighted in her, and that she were called by name.
She would go there in the evening, and in the morning she would return to a second
harem under the care of Shaashgaz, the king’s
eunuch in charge of the concubines. She would not return to the king unless he
delighted in her and summoned her by name.
So
Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now
Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself?
Haman entered, and the king asked him, “What should be done for the man whom the king is
delighted to honor?” Now
Haman thought to himself, “Whom would the king be
delighted to honor more than me?”
And
Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour,
And
Haman told the king, “For the man whom the king is
delighted to honor,
And let this
apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that they may
array the man
withal whom the king delighteth to honour, and bring him on
horseback through the street of the city, and
proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour.
Let the
robe and the horse be entrusted to one of the king’s most noble princes. Let them
array the man the king wants to honor and
parade him on the horse through the city square,
proclaiming before him, ‘This is what is done for the man whom the king is
delighted to honor!’”
Then took
Haman the
apparel and the horse, and
arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on
horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour.
So
Haman took the
robe and the horse,
arrayed Mordecai, and
paraded him through the city square, crying out before him, “This is what is done for the man whom the king is
delighted to honor!”
He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
He brought me out into the open; He
rescued me because He
delighted in me.
He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
“He trusts in the LORD, let the LORD deliver him; let the LORD
rescue him, since He delights in him.”
As he loved
cursing, so let it come unto him: as he
delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.
The
cursing that he loved, may it fall on him; the blessing in which he refused to delight, may it be far from him.
For they shall be
ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.
Surely you will be
ashamed of the sacred oaks in which you have
delighted; you will be
embarrassed by the gardens that you have chosen.
Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
I will
destine you for the sword, and you will all
kneel down to be slaughtered, because I called and you did not answer, I spoke and you did not
listen; you did evil in My sight and chose that in which I did not delight.”
He that killeth an ox is as if he
slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an
oblation, as if he offered
swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an
idol.
Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
Whoever slaughters an ox is like one who slays a man;
whoever sacrifices a lamb is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever presents a grain offering is like one who offers pig’s blood;
whoever offers
frankincense is like one who blesses an
idol. Indeed, they have chosen their own ways and
delighted in their abominations.
I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
So I will choose their punishment and I will bring terror upon them, because I called and no one answered, I spoke and no one
listened. But they did evil in My sight and chose that in which I did not delight.”
That ye may
suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be
delighted with the abundance of her glory.
so that you may
nurse and be satisfied at her comforting breasts; you may drink deeply and delight
yourselves in her glorious abundance.
And when they heard it, they were
glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently
betray him.
They were
delighted to hear this, and they promised to give him money. So
Judas began to look for an opportunity to
betray Jesus.
And they were
glad, and covenanted to give him money.
They were delighted and agreed to give him money.
Therefore we were comforted in your comfort:
yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of
Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
On account of this, we are encouraged. In addition to our own encouragement, we were even more
delighted by the joy of
Titus. For his spirit has been refreshed by all of you.
So being
affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were
dear unto us.
We cared so deeply that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our own lives as well. That is how beloved you have become to us.
That they all might be
damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.
With whose beauty if they being delighted took them to be gods; let them know how much better the Lord of them is: for the first author of beauty hath created them.
Even from the flower till the
grape was ripe hath my heart
delighted in her: my foot went the right way, from my youth up sought I after her.
