And they shall
hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The
LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we
beseech thee, three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the
LORD our God.
The elders of Israel will
listen to what you say, and you must go with them to the king of Egypt and tell him, ‘The
LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to the
LORD our God.’
And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor
hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The
LORD hath not appeared unto thee.
Then Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or
listen to my voice? For they may say, ‘The
LORD has not appeared to you.’”
And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
And the LORD asked him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied.
And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
“Throw it on the ground,” said the
LORD. So Moses threw it on the ground, and it became a
snake, and he ran from it.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
“Stretch out your hand and
grab it by the tail,” the
LORD said to Moses, who reached out his hand and caught the
snake, and it turned back into a staff in his hand.
That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.
“This is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you.”
And the
LORD said
furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy
bosom. And he put his hand into his
bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was
leprous as snow.
Furthermore, the
LORD said to Moses, “Put your hand inside your
cloak.” So he put his hand inside his
cloak, and when he took it out, his hand was
leprous, white as snow.
And he said, Put thine hand into thy
bosom again. And he put his hand into his
bosom again; and
plucked it out of his
bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.
“Put your hand back inside your
cloak,” said the
LORD. So Moses put his hand back inside his
cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his skin.
And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither
hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
And the
LORD said, “If they refuse to believe you or
heed the witness of the first sign, they may believe that of the second.
And Moses said unto the
LORD, O my
Lord, I am not
eloquent, neither
heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
“Please,
Lord,” Moses replied, “I have never been
eloquent, neither in the past nor since You have spoken to Your servant, for I am slow of speech and tongue.”
And the
LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the
dumb, or
deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the
LORD?
And the
LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Or who makes the
mute or the
deaf, the sighted or the blind? Is it not I, the
LORD?
And he said, O my
Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou
wilt send.
But Moses replied, “Please, Lord, send someone else.”
And the anger of the
LORD was
kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the
Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he
seeth thee, he will be
glad in his heart.
Then the anger of the
LORD burned against Moses, and He said, “Is not Aaron the
Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well, and he is now on his way to meet you. When he sees you, he will be
glad in his heart.
And the
LORD said unto Moses in
Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.
Now the
LORD had said to Moses in
Midian, “Go back to Egypt, for all the men who sought to kill you are dead.”
And the
LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will
harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
The
LORD instructed Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders that I have put within your power. But I will
harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.
And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the
LORD, Israel is my son, even my
firstborn:
Then tell Pharaoh that this is what the
LORD says: ‘Israel is My
firstborn son,
And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.
Now at a
lodging place along the way, the
LORD met Moses and was about to kill him.
And the
LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and
kissed him.
Meanwhile, the
LORD had said to Aaron, “Go and meet Moses in the wilderness.” So he went and met Moses at the mountain of God and
kissed him.
And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.
And Moses told Aaron everything the LORD had sent him to say, and all the signs He had commanded him to perform.
And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.
and Aaron relayed everything the LORD had said to Moses. And Moses performed the signs before the people,
And the people believed: and when they heard that the
LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their
affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.
and they believed. And when they heard that the
LORD had attended to the Israelites and had seen their
affliction, they bowed down and worshiped.
And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.
After that, Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Let My people go, so that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’”
And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.
But Pharaoh replied, “Who is the LORD that I should obey His voice and let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, and I will not let Israel go.”
And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days’ journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the
LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with
pestilence, or with the sword.
“The God of the Hebrews has met with us,” they answered. “Please let us go on a three-day journey into the wilderness to sacrifice to the LORD our God, or He may strike us with plagues or with the sword.”
But he said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the LORD.
“You are slackers!” Pharaoh replied. “Slackers! That is why you keep saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.’
And they said unto them, The
LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be
abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to
slay us.
“May the
LORD look upon you and judge you,” the
foremen said, “for you have made us a
stench before Pharaoh and his officials; you have placed in their hand a sword to kill us!”
And Moses returned unto the
LORD, and said,
Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil
entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?
So Moses returned to the LORD and asked, “Lord, why have You brought trouble upon this people? Is this why You sent me?
Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.
But the LORD said to Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh, for because of My mighty hand he will let the people go; because of My strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”
And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD:
God also told Moses, “I am the LORD.
And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God
Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God
Almighty, but by My name the
LORD I did not make Myself known to them.
Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the
LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their
bondage, and I will
redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:
Therefore tell the Israelites: ‘I am the
LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians and deliver you from their
bondage. I will
redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.
And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
I will take you as My own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.
And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did
swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an
heritage: I am the
LORD.
And I will bring you into the land that I
swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the
LORD!’”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
So the LORD said to Moses,
And Moses spake before the
LORD, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not
hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of
uncircumcised lips?
But in the
LORD’s presence Moses replied, “If the Israelites will not
listen to me, then why would Pharaoh
listen to me, since I am unskilled in speech?”
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them a charge concerning both the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt.
These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the LORD said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.
It was this Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, “Bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their divisions.”
And it came to pass on the day when the LORD spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt,
Now on the day that the LORD spoke to Moses in Egypt,
That the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, I am the LORD: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee.
He said to him, “I am the LORD; tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I say to you.”
And Moses said before the
LORD, Behold, I am of
uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh
hearken unto me?
But in the
LORD’s presence Moses replied, “Since I am unskilled in speech, why would Pharaoh
listen to me?”
And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.
The LORD answered Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.
And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.
And the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD, when I stretch out My hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out from among them.”
And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.
So Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded them.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD had commanded. Aaron threw his staff down before Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a serpent.
And he
hardened Pharaoh’s heart, that he
hearkened not unto them; as the
LORD had said.
Still, Pharaoh’s heart was
hardened, and he would not
listen to them, just as the
LORD had said.
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh’s heart is
hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go.
And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.
Then say to him, ‘The
LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to tell you: Let My people go, so that they may worship Me in the wilderness. But you have not
listened until now.
Thus saith the
LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the
LORD: behold, I will
smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.
This is what the LORD says: By this you will know that I am the LORD. Behold, with the staff in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will turn to blood.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.
And the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt—over their rivers and canals and ponds and reservoirs—that they may become blood.’ There will be blood throughout the land of Egypt, even in the vessels of wood and stone.”
And Moses and Aaron did so, as the
LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and
smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.
Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded; in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials, Aaron raised the staff and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was turned to blood.
And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh’s heart was
hardened, neither did he
hearken unto them; as the
LORD had said.
But the magicians of Egypt did the same things by their magic arts. So Pharaoh’s heart was
hardened, and he would not
listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the
LORD had said.
And seven days were fulfilled, after that the
LORD had
smitten the river.
And seven full days passed after the LORD had struck the Nile.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and tell him that this is what the LORD says: ‘Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.
And the
LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers and canals and ponds, and cause the frogs to come up
onto the land of Egypt.’”
Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD.
Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray to the LORD to take the frogs away from me and my people. Then I will let your people go, that they may sacrifice to the LORD.”
And he said, To
morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the
LORD our God.
“
Tomorrow,” Pharaoh answered. “May it be as you say,” Moses replied, “so that you may know that there is no one like the
LORD our God.
And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses
cried unto the
LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.
After Moses and Aaron had left Pharaoh, Moses
cried out to the
LORD for help with the frogs that He had brought against Pharaoh.
And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields.
And the LORD did as Moses requested, and the frogs in the houses, the courtyards, and the fields died.
But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he
hardened his heart, and
hearkened not unto them; as the
LORD had said.
When Pharaoh saw that there was relief, however, he
hardened his heart and would not
listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the
LORD had said.
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and
smite the dust of the land, that it may become
lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, that it may turn into swarms of gnats throughout the land of Egypt.’”
Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh’s heart was
hardened, and he
hearkened not unto them; as the
LORD had said.
“This is the finger of God,” the magicians said to Pharaoh. But Pharaoh’s heart was
hardened, and he would not
listen to them, just as the
LORD had said.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning, and when Pharaoh goes out to the water, stand before him and tell him that this is what the LORD says: ‘Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.
And I will
sever in that day the land of
Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of
flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the
LORD in the midst of the earth.
But on that day I will give special treatment to the land of
Goshen, where My people live; no swarms of
flies will be found there. In this way you will know that I, the
LORD, am in the land.
And the
LORD did so; and there came a
grievous swarm of
flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses, and into all the land of Egypt: the land was corrupted by reason of the
swarm of
flies.
And the
LORD did so. Thick swarms of
flies poured into Pharaoh’s palace and into the houses of his officials. Throughout Egypt the land was ruined by swarms of
flies.
And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the
abomination of the Egyptians to the
LORD our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the
abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us?
But Moses replied, “It would not be right to do that, because the sacrifices we offer to the
LORD our God would be
detestable to the Egyptians. If we offer sacrifices that are
detestable before the Egyptians, will they not stone us?
We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us.
We must make a three-day journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the LORD our God as He commands us.”
And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.
Pharaoh answered, “I will let you go and sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness, but you must not go very far. Now pray for me.”
And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the
LORD that the swarms of
flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to
morrow: but let not Pharaoh deal
deceitfully any more in not
letting the people go to sacrifice to the
LORD.
“As soon as I leave you,” Moses said, “I will pray to the
LORD, so that
tomorrow the swarms of
flies will depart from Pharaoh and his officials and his people. But Pharaoh must not act
deceitfully again by refusing to let the people go and sacrifice to the
LORD.”
And Moses went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.
Then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the LORD,
And the
LORD did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the swarms of
flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; there remained not one.
and the
LORD did as Moses requested. He removed the swarms of
flies from Pharaoh and his officials and his people; not one fly remained.
Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and tell him that this is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.
Behold, the hand of the
LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the
asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very
grievous murrain.
then the hand of the
LORD will bring a severe plague on your
livestock in the field—on your horses,
donkeys, camels, herds, and flocks.
And the
LORD shall
sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children’s of Israel.
But the
LORD will make a distinction between the
livestock of Israel and the
livestock of Egypt, so that no animal belonging to the Israelites will die.’”
And the
LORD appointed a set time, saying, To
morrow the
LORD shall do this thing in the land.
The
LORD set a time, saying, “
Tomorrow the
LORD will do this in the land.”
And the
LORD did that thing on the
morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.
And the next day the
LORD did just that. All the
livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one animal belonging to the Israelites died.
And the
LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses
sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.
Then the
LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of
soot from the furnace; in the sight of Pharaoh, Moses is to
toss it into the air.
And the
LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he
hearkened not unto them; as the
LORD had spoken unto Moses.
But the
LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not
listen to them, just as the
LORD had said to Moses.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning, stand before Pharaoh, and tell him that this is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.
As yet exaltest thou
thyself against my people, that thou
wilt not let them go?
Still, you lord it over My people and do not allow them to go.
He that feared the word of the
LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle
flee into the houses:
Those among Pharaoh’s officials who feared the word of the
LORD hurried to bring their servants and
livestock to shelter,
And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field.
but those who disregarded the word of the
LORD left their servants and
livestock in the field.
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be
hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every
herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
Then the
LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that
hail may fall on all the land of Egypt—on man and beast and every plant of the field throughout the land of Egypt.”
And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the
LORD sent
thunder and
hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the
LORD rained
hail upon the land of Egypt.
So Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the
LORD sent
thunder and
hail, and
lightning struck the earth. So the
LORD rained down
hail upon the land of Egypt.
And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have
sinned this time: the
LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. “This time I have
sinned,” he said. “The
LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
Intreat the
LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and
hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.
Pray to the
LORD, for there has been enough of God’s
thunder and
hail. I will let you go; you do not need to stay any longer.”
And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the
LORD; and the
thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more
hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the
LORD’S.
Moses said to him, “When I have left the city, I will spread out my hands to the
LORD. The
thunder will cease, and there will be no more
hail, so that you may know that the earth is the
LORD’s.
But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God.
But as for you and your officials, I know that you still do not fear the LORD our God.”
And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the
LORD: and the thunders and
hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.
Then Moses departed from Pharaoh, went out of the city, and spread out his hands to the
LORD. The
thunder and
hail ceased, and the rain no longer poured down on the land.
And the heart of Pharaoh was
hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the
LORD had spoken by Moses.
So Pharaoh’s heart was
hardened, and he would not let the Israelites go, just as the
LORD had said through Moses.
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have
hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might
shew these my signs before him:
Then the
LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have
hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials, that I may perform these
miraculous signs of Mine among them,
And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
and that you may tell your children and grandchildren how severely I dealt with the Egyptians when I performed
miraculous signs among them, so that all of you may know that I am the
LORD.”
And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the
LORD God of the Hebrews, How long
wilt thou refuse to humble
thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and told him, “This is what the
LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble
yourself before Me? Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.
And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a
snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the
LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
Pharaoh’s officials asked him, “How long will this man be a
snare to us? Let the people go, so that they may worship the
LORD their God. Do you not yet
realize that Egypt is in ruins?”
And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?
So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. “Go, worship the LORD your God,” he said. “But who exactly will be going?”
And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
“We will go with our young and old,” Moses replied. “We will go with our sons and daughters, and with our flocks and herds, for we must hold a feast to the LORD.”
And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
Then Pharaoh told them, “May the LORD be with you if I ever let you go with your little ones. Clearly you are bent on evil.
Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
No, only the men may go and worship the LORD, since that is what you have been requesting.” And Moses and Aaron were driven from Pharaoh’s presence.
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every
herb of the land, even all that the
hail hath left.
Then the
LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt, so that the locusts may
swarm over it and
devour every plant in the land—everything that the
hail has left behind.”
