Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the
uncircumcised Philistines? And
Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
But his father and mother replied, “Can’t you find a young woman among your relatives or among any of our people? Must you go to the
uncircumcised Philistines to get a wife?” But
Samson told his father, “Get her for me, for she is
pleasing to my eyes.”
And he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased
Samson well.
Then
Samson continued on his way down and spoke to the woman, because she was
pleasing to his eyes.

whithersoever Saul sent him, and
behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.

prospered in everything Saul sent him to do, and Saul set him over the men of war. And this was
pleasing in the sight of all the people, and of Saul’s officers as well.
And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle.

And said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be
pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by
Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king’s provinces:
“If it pleases the king,” she said, “and if I have found favor in his sight, and the matter seems proper to the king, and I am
pleasing in his sight, may an order be written to
revoke the letters that the scheming
Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, wrote to destroy the Jews in all the king’s provinces.
Let the words of my mouth, and the
meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my
redeemer.
May the words of my mouth and the
meditation of my heart be
pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my
Redeemer.
For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall
withal be fitted in thy lips.
for it is pleasing when you keep them within you and they are constantly on your lips.
For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the
sinner he giveth
travail, to gather and to
heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and
vexation of spirit.
To the man who is
pleasing in His sight, He gives wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the
sinner He assigns the task of gathering and
accumulating that which he will hand over to one who pleases God. This too is
futile and a pursuit of the wind.
Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as
ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an
adversary, and
slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of
Zion: he poured out his
fury like fire.
He has bent His bow like an enemy; His right hand is positioned. Like a
foe He has killed all who were
pleasing to the eye; He has poured out His wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of
Zion.
My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey,
wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.

I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be
sanctified in you before the heathen.
When I bring you from the peoples and gather you from the lands to which you have been scattered, I will accept you as a
pleasing aroma. And I will show My
holiness through you in the sight of the nations.
Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine
iniquities by
shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a
lengthening of thy tranquility.
Therefore, may my advice be
pleasing to you, O king. Break away from your sins by doing what is right, and from your
iniquities by showing mercy to the
oppressed. Perhaps there will be an extension of your prosperity.”
They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be
pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be
polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
They will not pour out wine offerings to the LORD, and their sacrifices will not please Him, but will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat will be
defiled. For their bread will be for themselves; it will not enter the house of the LORD.
Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Yes, Father, for this was well-
pleasing in Your sight.
In that hour Jesus
rejoiced in spirit, and said, I
thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast
hid these things from the wise and
prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
At that time Jesus
rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
Yes, Father, for this was well-
pleasing in Your sight.
I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Therefore I
urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and
pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
And be not
conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Do not be
conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and
approve what is the good,
pleasing, and perfect will of God.
For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
For
whoever serves Christ in this way is
pleasing to God and approved by men.
But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
I have all I need and more, now that I have received your gifts from Epaphroditus. They are a
fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, well-
pleasing to God.
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord.
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
Instead, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, not in order to please men but God, who examines our hearts.
Furthermore then we
beseech you, brethren, and
exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
Finally, brothers, we ask and
encourage you in the Lord Jesus to live in a way that is
pleasing to God, just as you have received from us. This is how you already live, so you should do so all the more.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
This is good and
pleasing in the sight of God our
Savior,
But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to
shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
But if a widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to show
godliness to their own family and repay their parents, for this is
pleasing in the sight of God.
Exhort servants to be
obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
Slaves are to submit to their own masters in everything, to be well-
pleasing, not
argumentative,
Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever.
Amen.
equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He
accomplish in us what is
pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory
forever and ever.
Amen.
And
whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are
pleasing in his sight.
and we will receive from Him whatever we ask, because we keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight.
And fear not, my son, that we are made poor: for thou hast much wealth, if thou fear God, and depart from all sin, and do that which is pleasing in his sight.
O send her out of thy holy heavens, and from the throne of thy glory, that being present she may labour with me, that I may know what is pleasing unto thee.
For so the ways of them which lived on the earth were reformed, and men were taught the things that are pleasing unto thee, and were saved through wisdom.
Whether it were a
whistling wind, or a
melodious noise of birds among the spreading branches, or a
pleasing fall of water running violently,
They that fear the Lord will seek that which is well, pleasing unto him; and they that love him shall be filled with the law.
To depart from wickedness is a thing
pleasing to the Lord; and to
forsake unrighteousness is a
propitiation.
Of whom some did that which was pleasing to God, and some multiplied sins.
O Israel, happy are we: for things that are pleasing to God are made known unto us.
