Rebekah his wife conceived.
Later, Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. And the LORD heard his
prayer, and his wife
Rebekah conceived.
For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
For You, O LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed this to Your servant when You said, ‘I will build a house for you.’ Therefore Your servant has found the courage to offer this prayer to You.
And the bones of Saul and
Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the
sepulchre of
Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.
And they buried the bones of Saul and his son
Jonathan in Zela in the land of Benjamin, in the tomb of Saul’s father
Kish. After they had done everything the king had commanded, God answered their
prayers for the land.
And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.
And there he built an altar to the LORD and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Then the LORD answered the
prayers on behalf of the land, and the plague upon Israel was
halted.
Yet have thou respect unto the
prayer of thy servant, and to his
supplication, O LORD my God, to
hearken unto the cry and to the
prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:
Yet regard the
prayer and
plea of Your servant, O LORD my God, so that You may hear the cry and the
prayer that Your servant is praying before You
today.
That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest
hearken unto the
prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.
May Your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, ‘My Name shall be there,’ so that You may hear the prayer that Your servant prays toward this place.
What
prayer and
supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
then may whatever prayer or petition Your people Israel make—each knowing his own afflictions and spreading out his hands toward this temple—
Then hear thou in heaven their
prayer and their
supplication, and maintain their cause.
then may You hear from heaven their
prayer and their
plea, and may You
uphold their cause.
Then hear thou their
prayer and their
supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,
then may You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, their
prayer and petition, and may You
uphold their cause.
And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this
prayer and
supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from
kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.
Now when Solomon had finished praying this entire
prayer and petition to the LORD, he got up before the altar of the LORD, where he had been
kneeling with his hands spread out toward heaven.
And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy
prayer and thy
supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have
hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
And the LORD said to him: “I have heard your
prayer and petition before Me. I have consecrated this temple you have built by putting My Name there
forever; My eyes and My heart will be there for all time.
It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of
Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy
prayer for the
remnant that are left.
Perhaps the LORD your God will hear all the words of the
Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to
defy the living God, and He will
rebuke him for the words that the LORD your God has heard. Therefore lift up a
prayer for the
remnant that still survives.”
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to
Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against
Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

Hezekiah: “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I have heard your
prayer concerning
Sennacherib king of Assyria.
Turn again, and tell
Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy
prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will
heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.
“Go back and tell
Hezekiah the leader of My people that this is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘I have heard your
prayer; I have seen your tears. I will surely
heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the house of the LORD.
And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they
cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
And because they
cried out to God in battle, they were helped against their enemies, and the Hagrites and all their allies were delivered into their hands. Because they put their trust in God, He answered their
prayers.
Have respect therefore to the
prayer of thy servant, and to his
supplication, O LORD my God, to
hearken unto the cry and the
prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:
Yet regard the
prayer and
plea of Your servant, O LORD my God, so that You may hear the cry and the
prayer that Your servant is praying before You.
That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place
whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to
hearken unto the
prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.
May Your eyes be open toward this temple day and night, toward the place where You said You would put Your Name, so that You may hear the prayer that Your servant prays toward this place.
Then what
prayer or what
supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own
sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:
then may whatever prayer or petition Your people Israel make—each knowing his own afflictions and spreading out his hands toward this temple—
Then hear thou from the heavens their
prayer and their
supplication, and maintain their cause.
then may You hear from heaven their
prayer and their
plea, and may You
uphold their cause.
Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their
prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and
forgive thy people which have
sinned against thee.
then may You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, their
prayer and petition, and may You
uphold their cause. May You
forgive Your people who
sinned against You.
Now, my God, let, I
beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be
attent unto the
prayer that is made in this place.
Now, my God, may Your eyes be open and Your ears
attentive to the
prayer offered in this place.
And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
the LORD appeared to him at night and said to him: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.
Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears
attent unto the
prayer that is made in this place.
Now My eyes will be open and My ears
attentive to the
prayers offered in this place.
Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

prayer came into His holy dwelling place in heaven.

Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and
cried to heaven.
Now the rest of the acts of
Manasseh, and his
prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.
As for the rest of the acts of
Manasseh, along with his
prayer to his God and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, they are indeed written in the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
His
prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his
trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and
graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.
His
prayer and how God received his
plea, as well as all his sin and unfaithfulness, and the sites where he built high places and set up Asherah poles and idols before he humbled himself, they are indeed written in the Records of the Seers.
Let thine ear now be
attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the
prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and
confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have
sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have
sinned.
let Your eyes be open and Your ears
attentive to hear the
prayer that I, Your servant, now pray before You day and night for Your servants, the Israelites. I
confess the sins that we Israelites have committed against You. Both I and my father’s house have
sinned.
O Lord, I
beseech thee, let now thine ear be
attentive to the
prayer of thy servant, and to the
prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and
prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s
cupbearer.
O Lord, may Your ear be
attentive to my
prayer and to the
prayers of Your servants who delight to
revere Your name. Give Your servant success this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” (At that time I was the
cupbearer to the king.)
Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.
So we prayed to our God and posted a guard against them day and night.
And Mattaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of
Asaph, was the principal to begin the
thanksgiving in
prayer: and Bakbukiah the second among his brethren, and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of
Jeduthun.
Mattaniah son of
Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of
Asaph, who led in
thanksgiving and
prayer; Bakbukiah, second among his associates; and Abda son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of
Jeduthun.
Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest
prayer before God.
But you even undermine the fear of God and hinder
meditation before Him.
Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.
yet my hands are free of violence and my prayer is pure.
Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
You will pray to Him, and He will hear you, and you will
fulfill your vows.
Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for
yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
So now, take seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and sacrifice a burnt offering for
yourselves. Then My servant Job will pray for you, for I will accept his
prayer and not deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken accurately about Me, as My servant Job has.”
Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved my distress; show me grace and hear my prayer.
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; at
daybreak I lay my
plea before You and wait in expectation.
The LORD hath heard my
supplication; the LORD will receive my
prayer.
The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer.
Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my
prayer, that goeth not out of
feigned lips.
Hear, O LORD, my righteous
plea;
listen to my cry. Give ear to my
prayer— it comes from lips free of
deceit.
But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was
sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my
prayer returned into mine own
bosom.
Yet when they were ill, I put on
sackcloth; I humbled myself with fasting, but my
prayers returned unanswered.
Hear my
prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a
sojourner, as all my fathers were.
Hear my
prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry for help; do not be
deaf to my
weeping. For I am a foreigner dwelling with You, a stranger like all my fathers.
Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the
daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my
prayer unto the God of my life.
The LORD decrees His loving devotion by day, and at night His song is with me as a prayer to the God of my life.
Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
Hear my
prayer, O God;
listen to the words of my mouth.
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.
Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer.
Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Hear, O God, my voice of
complaint; preserve my life from
dread of the enemy.
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.
O You who
listen to
prayer, all people will come to You.
But
verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my
prayer.
But God has surely heard; He has attended to the sound of my prayer.
Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
Blessed be God, who has not rejected my
prayer or
withheld from me His loving devotion!
But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
But my prayer to You, O LORD, is for a time of favor. In Your abundant loving devotion, O God, answer me with Your sure salvation.
And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of
Sheba:
prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
Long may he live! May gold from
Sheba be given him. May people ever pray for him; may they
bless him all day long.
The
prayers of David the son of
Jesse are ended.
Thus conclude the
prayers of David son of
Jesse.
O LORD God of hosts, how long
wilt thou be
angry against the
prayer of thy people?
O LORD God of Hosts, how long will Your anger
smolder against the
prayers of Your people?
O LORD God of hosts, hear my
prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob.
Selah.
O LORD God of Hosts, hear my
prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob.
Selah Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
Hear my
prayer, O LORD, and attend to my
plea for mercy.
Let my
prayer come before thee:
incline thine ear unto my cry;
May my
prayer come before You;
incline Your ear to my cry.
But unto thee have I
cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my
prayer prevent thee.
But to You, O LORD, I cry for help; in the morning my prayer comes before You.
Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.
Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry for help come before You.
He will regard the
prayer of the destitute, and not
despise their
prayer.
He will turn toward the
prayer of the destitute; He will not
despise their
prayer.
For my love they are my
adversaries: but I give myself unto
prayer.
In return for my love they
accuse me, but I am a man of
prayer.
When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
When he is tried, let him be found guilty, and may his prayer be regarded as sin.
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
May my
prayer be set before You like incense, my
uplifted hands like the evening offering.
Let the righteous
smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my
prayer also shall be in their
calamities.
Let the righteous man strike me; let his
rebuke be an act of loving devotion. It is oil for my head; let me not refuse it. For my
prayer is ever against the deeds of the wicked.
Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
O LORD, hear my
prayer. In Your faithfulness, give ear to my
plea; in Your righteousness, answer me.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an
abomination to the LORD: but the
prayer of the upright is his delight.
The sacrifice of the wicked is
detestable to the LORD, but the
prayer of the upright is His delight.
The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his
prayer shall be
abomination.
And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you:
yea, when ye make many
prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
When you spread out your hands in
prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you multiply your
prayers, I will not
listen. Your hands are covered with blood.
And the LORD shall
smite Egypt: he shall
smite and
heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall
heal them.
And the LORD will strike Egypt with a plague; He will strike them but
heal them. They will turn to the LORD, and He will hear their
prayers and
heal them.
LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a
prayer when thy
chastening was upon them.
O LORD, they sought You in their distress; when You disciplined them, they poured out a quiet prayer.
It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of
Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy
prayer for the
remnant that is left.
Perhaps the LORD your God will hear the words of the
Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to
defy the living God, and He will
rebuke him for the words that the LORD your God has heard. Therefore lift up a
prayer for the
remnant that still survives.”
Go, and say to
Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy
prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
“Go and tell
Hezekiah that this is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘I have heard your
prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
I will bring them to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on My altar, for My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations.”
Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor
prayer for them, neither make
intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.
As for you, do not pray for these people, do not offer a
plea or petition on their behalf, and do not
beg Me, for I will not
listen to you.
Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
As for you, do not pray for these people. Do not raise up a cry or a
prayer on their behalf, for I will not be
listening when they call out to Me in their time of
disaster.
Also when I cry and
shout, he shutteth out my
prayer.
Even when I cry out and
plead for help, He shuts out my
prayer.
Thou hast covered
thyself with a cloud, that our
prayer should not pass through.
You have covered
Yourself with a cloud that no
prayer can pass through.
And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by
prayer and supplications, with fasting, and
sackcloth, and ashes:
So I turned my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by
prayer and petition, with fasting,
sackcloth, and ashes.
As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our
prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our
iniquities, and understand thy truth.
Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this
disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our
iniquities and giving attention to Your truth.
Now therefore, O our God, hear the
prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to
shine upon thy sanctuary that is
desolate, for the Lord’s sake.
So now, our God, hear the
prayers and petitions of Your servant. For Your sake, O Lord, cause Your face to
shine upon Your
desolate sanctuary.
Yea, whiles I was speaking in
prayer, even the man
Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening
oblation.
while I was still praying,
Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice.
When my soul
fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my
prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
As my life was
fading away, I remembered the LORD. My
prayer went up to You, to Your holy temple.
A
prayer of
Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.
This is a
prayer of
Habakkuk the prophet, according to Shigionoth:
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall
mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his
firstborn.
Then I will pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and
prayer, and they will look on Me, the One they have pierced. They will
mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and
grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a
firstborn son.
Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by
prayer and fasting.
And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of
prayer; but ye have made it a den of
thieves.
And He declared to them, “It is written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer.’ But you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”
And all things,
whatsoever ye shall ask in
prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
Jesus answered, “This kind cannot come out, except by prayer.”
And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of
prayer? but ye have made it a den of
thieves.
Then Jesus began to teach them, and He declared, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”
Therefore I say unto you, What things
soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall havethem.
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
But the angel said unto him, Fear not,
Zacharias: for thy
prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid,
Zechariah, because your
prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.
And she was a widow of about
fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and
prayers night and day.
and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.
And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make
prayers, and likewise the disciples of the
Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?
Then they said to Him, “John’s disciples and those of the
Pharisees frequently fast and pray, but Yours keep on eating and drinking.”
And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
In those days Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and He spent the night in prayer to God.
Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of
prayer: but ye have made it a den of
thieves.
He declared to them, “It is written: ‘My house will be a house of prayer.’ But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”
Which
devour widows’ houses, and for a
shew make long
prayers: the same shall receive greater
damnation.
And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
When Jesus rose from
prayer and returned to the disciples, He found them
asleep, exhausted from sorrow.
These all continued with one
accord in
prayer and
supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
With one
accord they all continued in
prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
