Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
I will pass through all thy flock to day, removing from thence all the
speckled and
spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the
spotted and
speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my
hire.
Let me go through all your flocks
today and remove from them every
speckled or
spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb, and every
spotted or
speckled goat. These will be my wages.
So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my
hire before thy face: every one that is not
speckled and
spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted
stolen with me.
So my
honesty will
testify for me when you come to check on my wages in the future. If I have any goats that are not
speckled or
spotted, or any lambs that are not dark-colored, they will be considered
stolen.”
And he removed that day the he goats that were
ringstraked and
spotted, and all the she goats that were
speckled and
spotted, and every one that had some white in it, and all the brown among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons.
That very day
Laban removed all the
streaked or
spotted male goats and every
speckled or
spotted female goat—every one that had any white on it—and every dark-colored lamb, and he placed them under the care of his sons.
And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which
leaped upon the cattle were
ringstraked,
speckled, and
grisled.
When the flocks were breeding, I saw in a dream that the
streaked,
spotted, and
speckled males were mating with the females.
‘Look up,’ he said, ‘and see that all the males that are mating with the flock are
streaked,
spotted, or
speckled; for I have seen all that
Laban has done to you.
When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a
scab, or a bright
spot, and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of
leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aaron the priest, or unto one of his sons the priests:
“When someone has a swelling or
rash or bright
spot on his skin that could become an
infectious skin disease, he must be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons who is a priest.
If the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days:
If, however, the
spot on his skin is white and does not appear to be deeper than the skin, and the hair in it has not turned white, the priest shall
isolate the
infected person for seven days.
And in the place of the
boil there be a white rising, or a bright
spot, white, and somewhat reddish, and it be shewed to the priest;
and a white swelling or a reddish-white
spot develops where the
boil was, he must present himself to the priest.
But if the bright
spot stay in his place, and spread not, it is a burning
boil; and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
But if the
spot remains unchanged and does not spread, it is only the
scar from the
boil, and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
Or if there be any flesh, in the skin
whereof there is a hot burning, and the quick flesh that burneth have a white bright
spot, somewhat reddish, or white;
When there is a burn on someone’s skin and the raw area of the burn becomes reddish-white or white,
Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the hair in the bright
spot be turned white, and it be in sight deeper than the skin; it is a
leprosy broken out of the burning: wherefore the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of
leprosy.
the priest must examine it. If the hair in the
spot has turned white and the
spot appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a disease that has broken out in the burn. The priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased
infection.
But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there be no white hair in the bright spot, and it be no lower than the other skin, but be somewhat dark; then the priest shall shut him up seven days:
But if the priest examines it and there is no white hair in the
spot, and it is not beneath the skin but has
faded, the priest shall
isolate him for seven days.
And if the bright
spot stay in his place, and spread not in the skin, but it be somewhat dark; it is a rising of the burning, and the priest shall
pronounce him clean: for it is an inflammation of the burning.
But if the
spot is unchanged and has not spread on the skin but has
faded, it is a swelling from the burn, and the priest is to
pronounce him clean; for it is only the
scar from the burn.
If a man also or a woman have in the skin of their flesh bright spots, even white bright spots;
When a man or a woman has white spots on the skin,
Then the priest shall look: and, behold, if the bright
spots in the skin of their flesh be
darkish white; it is a
freckled spot that groweth in the skin; he is clean.
the priest shall examine them, and if the
spots are dull white, it is a
harmless rash that has broken out on the skin; the person is clean.
And for a rising, and for a
scab, and for a bright
spot:
and for a swelling,
rash, or
spot,
They shall not make
baldness upon their head, neither shall they
shave off the corner of their
beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.
Priests must not make
bald spots on their heads,
shave off the edges of their beards, or make cuts in their bodies.
This is the
ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red
heifer without
spot, wherein is no
blemish, and upon which never came yoke:
“This is the statute of the law that the LORD has commanded:
Instruct the Israelites to bring you an
unblemished red
heifer that has no defect and has never been placed under a yoke.
And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering.
And tell them that this is the offering made by fire you are to present to the LORD as a regular burnt offering each day: two
unblemished year-old male lambs.
And on the sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof:
On the Sabbath day, present two
unblemished year-old male lambs, accompanied by a grain offering of two-tenths of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, as well as a drink offering.
And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot;
At the beginning of every month, you are to present to the LORD a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram, and seven male lambs a year old, all
unblemished,
And on the second day ye shall offer twelve young bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:
On the second day you are to present twelve young bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs a year old, all
unblemished,
And on the fifth day nine bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without spot:
On the fifth day you are to present nine bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs a year old, all
unblemished,
They have corrupted themselves, their
spot is not the
spot of his children: they are a
perverse and
crooked generation.
His people have acted corruptly toward Him; the
spot on them is not that of His children, but of a
perverse and
crooked generation.
Howbeit he refused to turn aside: wherefore
Abner with the hinder end of the
spear smote him under the fifth rib, that the
spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where
Asahel fell down and died stood still.
But
Asahel refused to turn away; so
Abner thrust the
butt of his
spear into his stomach, and it came out his back, and he fell dead on the
spot. And every man
paused when he came to the place where
Asahel had fallen and died.
And the anger of the LORD was
kindled against Uzzah; and God
smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
And the anger of the LORD burned against Uzzah, and God struck him down on the
spot for his
irreverence, and he died there beside the ark of God.
But
Naaman was
wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the
leper.
But
Naaman went away
angry, saying, “I thought that he would surely come out, stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the
spot to cure my
leprosy.
For then shalt thou lift up thy face without
spot;
yea, thou shalt be
stedfast, and shalt not fear:
then indeed you will lift up your face without shame; you will stand firm and unafraid.
He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye
seeth every precious thing.
He hews out channels in the rocks, and his eyes
spot every
treasure.
Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.
You are altogether beautiful, my
darling; in you there is no
flaw.
They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove:
yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
They lift it to their shoulder and carry it along; they set it in its place, and there it stands, not
budging from that
spot. They cry out to it, but it does not answer; it saves no one from his troubles.
Can the
Ethiopian change his skin, or the
leopard his
spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
Can the
Ethiopian change his skin, or the
leopard his
spots? Neither are you able to do good— you who are accustomed to doing evil.
And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to
purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
Some of the wise will fall, so that they may be refined,
purified, and made
spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.
Many shall be
purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Many will be
purified, made
spotless, and refined, but the wicked will continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked will understand, but the wise will understand.
And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a
wedding garment:
But when the king came in to see the guests, he
spotted a man who was not dressed in
wedding clothes.
And likewise a
Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
So too, when a
Levite came to that
spot and saw him, he passed by on the other side.
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having
spot, or
wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without
blemish.
That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Keep this commandment without
stain or reproach until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ,
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without
spot to God,
purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself
unblemished to God,
purify our consciences from works of death, so that we may serve the living God!
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without
blemish and without
spot:
but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without
blemish or
spot.
And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to
riot in the
daytime.
Spots they are and
blemishes,
sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be
diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without
spot, and
blameless.
Therefore, beloved, as you
anticipate these things, make every effort to be found at peace—
spotless and
blameless in His sight.
These are
spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead,
plucked up by the roots;
These men are hidden reefs in your love feasts,
shamelessly feasting with you but
shepherding only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried along by the wind; fruitless trees in autumn, twice dead after being uprooted.
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire;
hating even the garment
spotted by the flesh.
save others by
snatching them from the fire; and to still others show mercy tempered with fear,
hating even the clothing
stained by the flesh.
Or made it like some
vile beast, laying it over with
vermilion, and with
paint colouring it red, and covering every
spot therein;
