Og king of
Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about.
So Moses gave to the Gadites, to the Reubenites, and to the half-tribe of

Ekron to
Gath, which the Philistines had taken, were restored to Israel, who also delivered the
surrounding territory from the hand of the Philistines. And there was peace between the Israelites and the

Moreover the Hebrews that were with the Philistines before that time, which went up with them into the camp from the country round about, even they also turned to be with the Israelites that were with Saul and

And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his
testimonies which he
testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
They rejected His statutes and the covenant He had made with their fathers, as well as the decrees He had given them. They pursued worthless idols and themselves became worthless, going after the
surrounding nations that the LORD had commanded them not to
imitate.
And he took Geshur, and
Aram, with the towns of
Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even
threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of
Gilead.

Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the
Canaanites, the
Hittites, the
Perizzites, the Jebusites, the
Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the
Amorites.
After these things had been accomplished, the leaders approached me and said, “The people of Israel, including the priests and Levites, have not kept themselves separate from the
surrounding peoples whose abominations are like those of the
Canaanites,
Hittites,
Perizzites, Jebusites,
Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians, and

For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
For I am about to
summon all the clans and kingdoms of the north,” declares the LORD. “Their kings will come and set up their thrones at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem. They will attack all her
surrounding walls and all the other cities of Judah.
Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an
astonishment, and an
hissing, and perpetual desolations.
behold, I will
summon all the families of the north, declares the LORD, and I will send for My servant

devote them to destruction and make them an object of
horror and contempt, an

Men shall
buy fields for money, and
subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.
Fields will be purchased with silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed, and witnessed in the land of Benjamin, in the areas surrounding Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah—the cities of the hill country, the foothills, and the Negev—because I will restore them from captivity, declares the LORD.”
In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the
vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the LORD.

cubit and a
handbreadth), and he measured the wall to be one rod thick and one rod high.
And there was an
enlarging, and a winding about still upward to the side chambers: for the winding about of the house went still upward round about the house: therefore the breadth of the house was still upward, and so increased from the lowest chamber to the highest by the midst.
The side rooms
surrounding the temple
widened at each successive level, because the structure
surrounding the temple ascended by stages corresponding to the narrowing of the temple wall as it rose upward. And so a
stairway went up from the lowest story to the highest, through the middle one.

cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?
Are these not the words that the LORD proclaimed through the earlier prophets, when Jerusalem and its
surrounding towns were
populous and prosperous, and the Negev and the foothills were inhabited?’”

trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
