And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by their names:
So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,
These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.
These were the men numbered by Moses and Aaron, with the assistance of the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron:
These also are the generations of
Aaron and Moses in the day that the LORD spake with Moses in mount
Sinai.
This is the account of
Aaron and Moses at the time the LORD spoke with Moses on Mount
Sinai.
These are the names of the sons of
Aaron, the priests which were
anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest’s office.
These were
Aaron’s sons, the
anointed priests, who were ordained to serve as priests.
And
Nadab and
Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of
Sinai, and they had no children: and
Eleazar and
Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of
Aaron their father.
Nadab and
Abihu, however, died in the presence of the LORD when they offered unauthorized fire before the LORD in the Wilderness of
Sinai. And since they had no sons, only
Eleazar and
Ithamar served as priests during the lifetime of their father
Aaron.
Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
“Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him.
And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.
Assign the Levites to
Aaron and his sons; they have been given exclusively to him from among the Israelites.
And thou shalt
appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
So you shall
appoint Aaron and his sons to carry out the duties of the priesthood; but any outsider who approaches the tabernacle must be put to death.”
And
Eleazar the son of
Aaron the priest shall be chief over the chief of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.
The chief of the leaders of the Levites was
Eleazar son of
Aaron the priest; he oversaw those responsible for the duties of the sanctuary.
But those that
encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and
Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
Moses,
Aaron, and
Aaron’s sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the
sunrise, before the Tent of Meeting. They were to perform the duties of the sanctuary as a service on behalf of the Israelites; but any outsider who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death.
All that were numbered of the Levites, which Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the LORD, throughout their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.
The total number of Levites that Moses and Aaron counted by their clans at the LORD’s command, including all the males a month old or more, was 22,000.
And thou shalt give the money,
wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto
Aaron and to his sons.
Give the money to
Aaron and his sons as the
redemption price for the excess among the Israelites.”
And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And Moses gave the
redemption money to
Aaron and his sons in obedience to the word of the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded him.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
And when the camp setteth forward,
Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering
vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:
Whenever the camp sets out,
Aaron and his sons are to go in, take down the
veil of the
curtain, and cover the ark of the Testimony with it.
And when
Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of
Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of
Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.
When
Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy objects and all their
equipment, as soon as the camp is ready to move, the Kohathites shall come and do the carrying. But they must not touch the holy objects, or they will die. These are the
transportation duties of the Kohathites regarding the Tent of Meeting.
And to the office of
Eleazar the son of
Aaron the priest pertaineth the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily meat offering, and the
anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels thereof.
Eleazar son of
Aaron the priest shall oversee the oil for the light, the
fragrant incense, the daily grain offering, and the
anointing oil. He has oversight of the entire tabernacle and everything in it, including the holy objects and their utensils.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the most holy things:
Aaron and his sons shall go in, and
appoint them every one to his service and to his burden:
In order that they may live and not die when they come near the most holy things, do this for them:
Aaron and his sons are to go in and
assign each man his task and what he is to carry.
At the appointment of
Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and ye shall
appoint unto them in charge all their burdens.
All the service of the Gershonites—all their transport duties and other work—is to be done at the direction of
Aaron and his sons; you are to
assign to them all that they are responsible to carry.
This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation: and their charge shall be under the hand of
Ithamar the son of
Aaron the priest.
This is the service of the Gershonite clans at the Tent of Meeting, and their duties shall be under the direction of
Ithamar son of
Aaron the priest.
This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the tabernacle of the congregation, under the hand of
Ithamar the son of
Aaron the priest.
This is the service of the Merarite clans according to all their work at the Tent of Meeting, under the direction of
Ithamar son of
Aaron the priest.”
And Moses and Aaron and the chief of the congregation numbered the sons of the Kohathites after their families, and after the house of their fathers,
So Moses, Aaron, and the leaders of the congregation numbered the Kohathites by their clans and families,
These were they that were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, which Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
These were counted from the Kohathite clans,
everyone who could serve at the Tent of Meeting. Moses and
Aaron numbered them according to the command of the LORD through Moses.
These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, whom Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD.
These were counted from the Gershonite clans who served at the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron counted at the LORD’s command.
These be those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
These were counted from the Merarite clans, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the LORD’s command through Moses.
All those that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the chief of Israel numbered, after their families, and after the house of their fathers,
So Moses, Aaron, and the leaders of Israel numbered by their clans and families all the Levites
Speak unto
Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall
bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
“Tell
Aaron and his sons: This is how you are to
bless the Israelites. Say to them:
And four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari, according unto their service, under the hand of
Ithamar the son of
Aaron the priest.
and he gave the Merarites four carts and eight oxen, as their service required, all under the direction of
Ithamar son of
Aaron the priest.
Speak unto
Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the
candlestick.
“Speak to Aaron and tell him: ‘When you set up the seven lamps, they are to light the area in front of the lampstand.’”
And
Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the
candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And Aaron did so; he set up the lamps facing toward the front of the lampstand, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And
Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may
execute the service of the LORD.
Aaron is to present the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the sons of Israel, so that they may perform the service of the LORD.
And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.
You are to have the Levites stand before Aaron and his sons and then present them before the LORD as a wave offering.
And I have given the Levites as a gift to
Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an
atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come
nigh unto the sanctuary.
And I have given the Levites as a gift to
Aaron and his sons from among the Israelites, to perform the service for the Israelites at the Tent of Meeting and to make
atonement on their behalf, so that no plague will come against the Israelites when they approach the sanctuary.”
And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.
So Moses, Aaron, and the whole congregation of Israel did with the Levites everything that the LORD had commanded Moses they should do.
And the Levites were
purified, and they washed their clothes; and
Aaron offered them as an offering before the LORD; and
Aaron made an
atonement for them to
cleanse them.
The Levites
purified themselves and washed their clothes, and
Aaron presented them as a wave offering before the LORD.
Aaron also made
atonement for them to
cleanse them.
And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.
After that, the Levites came to perform their service at the Tent of Meeting in the presence of Aaron and his sons. Thus they did with the Levites just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And there were certain men, who were
defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the
passover on that day: and they came before Moses and before
Aaron on that day:
But there were some men who were unclean due to a dead body, so they could not observe the
Passover on that day. And they came before Moses and
Aaron that same day
And the sons of
Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the
trumpets; and they shall be to you for an
ordinance for ever throughout your generations.
The sons of
Aaron, the priests, are to sound the
trumpets. This shall be a permanent statute for you and the generations to come.
And
Miriam and
Aaron spake against Moses because of the
Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an
Ethiopian woman.
Then
Miriam and
Aaron criticized Moses because of the
Cushite woman he had married, for he had taken a
Cushite wife.
And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto
Aaron, and unto
Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
And suddenly the LORD said to Moses,
Aaron, and
Miriam, “You three, come out to the Tent of Meeting.” So the three went out,
And the LORD came down in the
pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called
Aaron and
Miriam: and they both came forth.
and the LORD came down in a
pillar of cloud, stood at the entrance to the Tent, and summoned
Aaron and
Miriam. When both of them had
stepped forward,
And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold,
Miriam became
leprous, white as snow: and
Aaron looked upon
Miriam, and, behold, she was
leprous.
As the cloud lifted from above the Tent, suddenly
Miriam became
leprous, white as snow.
Aaron turned toward her, saw that she was
leprous,
And
Aaron said unto Moses,
Alas, my lord, I
beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done
foolishly, and wherein we have
sinned.
and said to Moses, “My lord, please do not hold against us this sin we have so
foolishly committed.
And they went and came to Moses, and to
Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of
Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.
and they went back to Moses,
Aaron, and the whole congregation of Israel in the Wilderness of
Paran at Kadesh. They brought back a report for the whole congregation and showed them the fruit of the land.
And all the children of Israel
murmured against Moses and against
Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!
Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.
Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown before the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.
Those who found the man gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron, and the whole congregation,
And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against
Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up
yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?
They came together against Moses and
Aaron and told them, “You have taken too much upon
yourselves! For
everyone in the entire congregation is holy, and the LORD is in their midst. Why then do you
exalt yourselves above the assembly of the LORD?”
For which cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the LORD: and what is
Aaron, that ye
murmur against him?
Therefore, it is you and all your followers who have
conspired against the LORD! As for
Aaron, who is he that you should
grumble against him?”
And Moses said unto
Korah, Be thou and all thy company before the LORD, thou, and they, and
Aaron, to
morrow:
And Moses said to
Korah, “You and all your followers are to appear before the LORD
tomorrow—you and they and
Aaron.
And take every man his
censer, and put incense in them, and bring ye before the LORD every man his
censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and
Aaron, each of you his
censer.
Each man is to take his
censer, place incense in it, and present it before the LORD—250 censers. You and
Aaron are to present your censers as well.”
And they took every man his
censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense
thereon, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and
Aaron.
So each man took his
censer, put fire and incense in it, and stood with Moses and
Aaron at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and
wilt thou be
wroth with all the congregation?
But Moses and
Aaron fell facedown and said, “O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, when one man sins, will You be
angry with the whole congregation?”
Speak unto
Eleazar the son of
Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and
scatter thou the fire
yonder; for they are
hallowed.
“Tell
Eleazar son of
Aaron the priest to remove the censers from the flames and to
scatter the coals far away, because the censers are holy.
To be a
memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of
Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as
Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.
just as the LORD commanded him through Moses. This was to be a reminder to the Israelites that no outsider who is not a
descendant of
Aaron should approach to offer incense before the LORD, lest he become like
Korah and his followers.
But on the
morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel
murmured against Moses and against
Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD.
The next day the whole congregation of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron, saying, “You have killed the LORD’s people!”
And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
But when the congregation gathered against them, Moses and Aaron turned toward the Tent of Meeting, and suddenly the cloud covered it and the glory of the LORD appeared.
And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation.
Then Moses and Aaron went to the front of the Tent of Meeting,
Get you up from among this congregation, that I may
consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
“Get away from this congregation so that I may
consume them in an instant.” And Moses and
Aaron fell facedown.
And Moses said unto
Aaron, Take a
censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an
atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.
Moses said to
Aaron, “Take your
censer, place fire from the altar in it, and add incense. Go quickly to the congregation and make
atonement for them, because wrath has come out from the LORD; the plague has begun.”
And
Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an
atonement for the people.
So
Aaron took the
censer as Moses had ordered and ran into the midst of the assembly. And seeing that the plague had begun among the people, he offered the incense and made
atonement for the people.
And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed.
Then
Aaron returned to Moses at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, since the plague had been
halted.
And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.
and write Aaron’s name on the staff of Levi, because there must be one staff for the head of each tribe.
And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod
apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of
Aaron was among their rods.
So Moses spoke to the Israelites, and each of their leaders gave him a staff—one for each of the leaders of their tribes, twelve staffs in all. And Aaron’s staff was among them.
And it came to pass, that on the
morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of
Aaron for the house of Levi was
budded, and brought forth buds, and
bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that
Aaron’s staff, representing the house of Levi, had
sprouted, put forth buds,
blossomed, and produced almonds.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring
Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a
token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.
The LORD said to Moses, “Put
Aaron’s staff back in front of the Testimony, to be kept as a sign for the
rebellious, so that you may put an end to their
grumbling against Me, lest they die.”
And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father’s house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
So the LORD said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father’s house must bear the iniquity involving the sanctuary. And you and your sons alone must bear the iniquity involving your priesthood.
And the LORD spake unto
Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine
heave offerings of all the
hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the
anointing, and to thy sons, by an
ordinance for ever.
Then the LORD said to Aaron, “Behold, I have put you in charge of My offerings. As for all the sacred offerings of the Israelites, I have given them to you and your sons as a portion and a permanent statute.
And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.
Then the LORD said to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the Israelites.
Thus ye also shall offer an
heave offering unto the LORD of all your
tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD’S
heave offering to
Aaron the priest.
So you are to present an offering to the LORD from all the
tithes you receive from the Israelites, and from these you are to give the LORD’s offering to
Aaron the priest.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.
Now there was no water for the congregation, so they gathered against Moses and Aaron.
And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.
Then Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. They fell facedown, and the glory of the LORD appeared to them.
Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
“Take the staff and
assemble the congregation. You and your brother
Aaron are to speak to the rock while they watch, and it will pour out its water. You will bring out water from the rock and provide drink for the congregation and their
livestock.”
And Moses and
Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we
fetch you water out of this rock?
Then Moses and
Aaron gathered the assembly in front of the rock, and Moses said to them, “
Listen now, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?”
And the LORD spake unto Moses and
Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to
sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
But the LORD said to Moses and
Aaron, “Because you did not trust Me to show My
holiness in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses and
Aaron in mount
Hor, by the coast of the land of
Edom, saying,
And at Mount
Hor, near the border of the land of
Edom, the LORD said to Moses and
Aaron,
Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.
“Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will not enter the land that I have given the Israelites, because both of you rebelled against My command at the waters of Meribah.
Take
Aaron and
Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount
Hor:
Take
Aaron and his son
Eleazar and bring them up Mount
Hor.
And strip
Aaron of his garments, and put them upon
Eleazar his son: and
Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.
Remove
Aaron’s priestly garments and put them on his son
Eleazar.
Aaron will be gathered to his people and will die there.”
And Moses
stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon
Eleazar his son; and
Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and
Eleazar came down from the mount.
After Moses had removed
Aaron’s garments and put them on his son
Eleazar,
Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and
Eleazar came down from the mountain.
And when all the congregation saw that
Aaron was dead, they
mourned for
Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.
When the whole congregation saw that
Aaron had died, the entire house of Israel
mourned for him thirty days.
And when
Phinehas, the son of
Eleazar, the son of
Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a
javelin in his hand;
On seeing this,
Phinehas son of
Eleazar, the son of
Aaron the priest, got up from the assembly, took a
spear in his hand,
Phinehas, the son of
Eleazar, the son of
Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was
zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
“
Phinehas son of
Eleazar, the son of
Aaron the priest, has turned My wrath away from the Israelites; for he was
zealous for My sake among them, so that I did not
consume the Israelites in My zeal.
And it came to pass after the plague, that the LORD spake unto Moses and unto
Eleazar the son of
Aaron the priest, saying,
After the plague had ended, the LORD said to Moses and
Eleazar son of
Aaron the priest,
And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and
Abiram. This is that Dathan and
Abiram, which were famous in the congregation, who
strove against Moses and against
Aaron in the company of
Korah, when they
strove against the LORD:
and the sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan, and
Abiram. It was Dathan and
Abiram, chosen by the congregation, who fought against Moses and
Aaron with the followers of
Korah who rebelled against the LORD.
And the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom her mother bare to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram
Aaron and Moses, and
Miriam their sister.
and Amram’s wife was named Jochebed. She was also a daughter of Levi, born to Levi in Egypt. To Amram she bore
Aaron, Moses, and their sister
Miriam.
But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and
Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of
Sinai.
Among all these, however, there was not one who had been numbered by Moses and
Aaron the priest when they counted the Israelites in the Wilderness of
Sinai.
And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.
After you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people, as your brother Aaron was;
These are the journeys of the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt with their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.
These are the journeys of the Israelites when they came out of the land of Egypt by their divisions under the
leadership of Moses and
Aaron.
And
Aaron the priest went up into mount
Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the
fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.
At the LORD’s command,
Aaron the priest
climbed Mount
Hor and died there on the first day of the fifth month, in the
fortieth year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt.
And
Aaron was an hundred and twenty and three years old when he died in mount
Hor.
Aaron was 123 years old when he died on Mount
Hor.
And the LORD was very
angry with
Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for
Aaron also the same time.
The LORD was
angry enough with
Aaron to destroy him, but at that time I also prayed for
Aaron.
And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there
Aaron died, and there he was buried; and
Eleazar his son ministered in the priest’s office in his
stead.
The Israelites traveled from Beeroth
Bene-jaakan to Moserah, where
Aaron died and was buried, and
Eleazar his son succeeded him as priest.
