every year without further question, according as the priests that be in Jerusalem shall

every king and nation, that stretcheth out his hand to hinder or
endamage that house of the Lord in Jerusalem.
The priests also and the Levites stood
arrayed in their
vestments, according to their kindreds, in the service of the Lord God of Israel, according to the book of Moses: and the

every gate.
And from the river Theras we departed the
twelfth day of the first month, and came to Jerusalem by the mighty hand of our Lord, which was with us: and from the beginning of our journey the Lord delivered us from
every enemy, and so we came to Jerusalem.
For ever since the time of our fathers we have been and are in great sin, even unto this day.
Moreover ye shall never seek to have peace with them, that ye may be strong, and eat the good things of the land, and that ye may leave the inheritance of the land unto your children for
evermore.
And with them the rulers and judges of every place, till we turn away the wrath of the Lord from us for this matter.
Then went they their way,
every one to eat and drink, and make
merry, and to give part to them that had nothing, and to make great
cheer;
And triumphed not in my name for the destruction of your enemies, but
ever to this day do ye yet
murmur.
Their glory also will I take unto me, and give these the
everlasting tabernacles, which I had prepared for them.
And therefore I say unto you, O ye heathen, that hear and understand, look for your
Shepherd, he shall give you
everlasting rest; for he is
nigh at hand, that shall come in the end of the world.
And in the midst of them there was a young man of a high
stature, taller than all the rest, and upon
every one of their heads he set crowns, and was more
exalted; which I
marvelled at greatly.

paradise, which thy right hand had planted, before
ever the earth came forward.
And
every people walked after their own will, and did wonderful things before thee, and
despised thy commandments.

everlasting covenant with him, promising him that thou wouldest never
forsake his seed.

hell, neither did I

And I said, No, Lord: but of very grief have I spoken: for my
reins pain me
every hour, while I labour to
comprehend the way of the most High, and to seek out part of his judgment.
And he said unto me, In the beginning, when the earth was made, before the borders of the world stood, or
ever the winds
blew,
Before the fair flowers were seen, or ever the moveable powers were established, before the innumerable multitude of angels were gathered together,
Or
ever the heights of the air were lifted up, before the measures of the
firmament were named, or
ever the
chimneys in
Sion were hot,
And
ere the present years were sought out, and or
ever the inventions of them that now sin were turned, before they were sealed that have gathered faith for a
treasure:
And the
trumpet shall give a sound, which when
every man heareth, they shall be suddenly afraid.

chastity, which thou hast had
ever since thy youth.

ever been reputed as nothing, have begun to be lords over us, and to
devour us.
And that there is promised us an
everlasting hope, whereas ourselves being most wicked are made vain?
And that there should be shewed a
paradise, whose fruit endureth for
ever, wherein is security and medicine, since we shall not enter into it?
O Lord, thou that dwellest in
everlastingness which beholdest from above things in the heaven and in the air;
And every one that shall be saved, and shall be able to escape by his works, and by faith, whereby ye have believed,
For then every one obeyed: but now the manners of them which are created in this world that is made are corrupted by a perpetual seed, and by a law which is unsearchable rid themselves.
For, behold, I
sow my law in you, and it shall bring fruit in you, and ye shall be honoured in it for
ever.
And those thirty years I did nothing else day and night, and every hour, but make my, prayer to the Highest.
Then say I unto thee, Like as thou hast brought forth with labour; even so the earth also hath given her fruit, namely, man, ever since the beginning unto him that made her.

So went it with all the residue one after another, as that every one reigned, and then appeared no more.
And now go your way home every man, and after these days will I come unto you.
And they were all mixed together; the blast of fire, the flaming breath, and the great
tempest; and fell with violence upon the multitude which was prepared to fight, and burned them up
every one, so that upon a sudden of an innumerable multitude nothing was to be perceived, but only dust and smell of smoke: when I saw this I was afraid.

puffed up full of wrath, and the star, that they may make all the earth afraid, and them that dwell therein; and they shall pour out over
every high and eminent place an
horrible star,
As in an
orchard of Olives upon
every tree there are left three or four olives;
Even so shall not the plagues be
slack to come upon the earth, and the world shall
mourn, and sorrows shall come upon it on
every side.
So shall righteousness
hate iniquity, when she decketh herself, and shall
accuse her to her face, when he cometh that shall defend him that
diligently searcheth out
every sin upon earth.
Behold, God himself is the judge, fear him: leave off from your sins, and
forget your
iniquities, to
meddle no more with them for
ever: so shall God lead you forth, and deliver you from all trouble.
For there shall be in every place, and in the next cities, a great insurrection upon those that fear the Lord.
But I alone went often to Jerusalem at the feasts, as it was ordained unto all the people of Israel by an
everlasting decree, having the firstfruits and tenths of increase, with that which was first
shorn; and them gave I at the altar to the priests the children of Aaron.
The first tenth part of all increase I gave to the sons of Aaron, who ministered at Jerusalem: another tenth part I sold away, and went, and spent it every year at Jerusalem:
O Lord, thou art just, and all thy works and all thy ways are mercy and truth, and thou judgest truly and justly for ever.
Now therefore deal with me as seemeth best unto thee, and command my spirit to be taken from me, that I may be dissolved, and become earth: for it is profitable for me to die rather than to live, because I have heard false reproaches, and have much sorrow: command therefore that I may now be delivered out of this distress, and go into the
everlasting place: turn not thy face away from me.
Then she prayed toward the window, and said, Blessed art thou, O Lord my God, and thine holy and glorious name is blessed and honourable for ever: let all thy works praise thee for ever.
Bless the Lord thy God
alway, and desire of him that thy ways may be directed, and that all thy paths and counsels may
prosper: for
every nation hath not counsel; but the Lord himself giveth all good things, and he humbleth whom he will, as he will; now therefore, my son, remember my commandments, neither let them be put out of thy mind.
Then began Tobias to say, Blessed art thou, O God of our fathers, and blessed is thy holy and glorious name for
ever; let the heavens
bless thee, and all thy creatures.
Then Raguel praised God, and said, O God, thou art worthy to be praised with all pure and holy praise; therefore let thy saints praise thee with all thy creatures; and let all thine angels and thine
elect praise thee for
ever.
Now
Tobit his father counted
every day: and when the days of the journey were
expired, and they came not,
But she said, Hold thy peace, and
deceive me not; my son is dead. And she went out
every day into the way which they went, and did eat no meat on the
daytime, and ceased not whole nights to
bewail her son Tobias, until the fourteen days of the
wedding were
expired, which Raguel had
sworn that he should
spend there. Then Tobias said to Raguel, Let me go, for my father and my mother look no more to see me.
And he
wept, and said, Blessed art thou, O God, and blessed is thy name for
ever; and blessed are all thine holy angels:
For not of any favour of mine, but by the will of our God I came; wherefore praise him for ever.
Then
Tobit wrote a prayer of
rejoicing, and said, Blessed be God that liveth for
ever, and blessed be his kingdom.
There declare his greatness, and
extol him before all the living: for he is our Lord, and he is the God our Father for
ever.
If ye turn to him with your whole heart, and with your whole mind, and deal uprightly before him, then will he turn unto you, and will not hide his face from you. Therefore see what he will do with you, and
confess him with your whole mouth, and praise the Lord of might, and
extol the
everlasting King. In the land of my captivity do I praise him, and declare his might and majesty to a sinful nation. O ye sinners, turn and do justice before him: who can tell if he will accept you, and have mercy on you?
Give praise to the Lord, for he is good: and praise the
everlasting King, that his tabernacle may be builded in thee again with joy, and let him make joyful there in thee those that are
captives, and love in thee for
ever those that are
miserable.
Cursed are all they which
hate thee, and blessed shall all be which love thee for
ever.
O blessed are they which love thee, for they shall
rejoice in thy peace: blessed are they which have been sorrowful for all thy scourges; for they shall
rejoice for thee, when they have seen all thy glory, and shall be
glad for
ever.
And all her streets shall say,
Alleluia; and they shall praise him, saying, Blessed be God, which hath
extolled it for
ever.
And that again God will have mercy on them, and bring them again into the land, where they shall build a temple, but not like to the first, until the time of that age be fulfilled; and afterward they shall return from all places of their captivity, and build up Jerusalem gloriously, and the house of God shall be built in it for ever with a glorious building, as the prophets have spoken thereof.
And
plenty of
victual for
every man of the army, and very much gold and silver out of the king’s house.
Then
every man of Israel
cried to God with great
fervency, and with great
vehemency did they humble their souls:
Both they, and their wives and their children, and their cattle, and
every stranger and
hireling, and their servants bought with money, put
sackcloth upon their loins.
Thus
every man and women, and the little children, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, fell before the temple, and cast ashes upon their heads, and spread out their
sackcloth before the face of the Lord: also they put
sackcloth about the altar,
And when the men of the city saw them, they took up their weapons, and went out of the city to the top of the hill: and
every man that used a
sling kept them from coming up by casting of stones against them.
Now the children of Israel, when they saw the multitude of them, were greatly troubled, and said
every one to his neighbour, Now will these men
lick up the face of the earth; for neither the high mountains, nor the valleys, nor the hills, are able to bear their weight.
Then
every man took up his weapons of war, and when they had
kindled fires upon their towers, they remained and watched all that night.
And he
dispersed the people,
every one to their own charge; and they went unto the walls and towers of their city, and sent the women and children into their houses: and they were very low brought in the city.
For if he will not help us within these five days, he hath power to defend us when he will, even every day, or to destroy us before our enemies.
I pray thee, I pray thee, O God of my father, and God of the inheritance of Israel, Lord of the heavens and earth,
Creator of the waters, king of
every creature, hear thou my prayer:
And make every nation and tribe to acknowledge that thou art the God of all power and might, and that there is none other that protecteth the people of Israel but thou.
And they wondered at her beauty, and
admired the children of Israel because of her, and
every one said to his neighbour, Who would
despise this people, that have among them such women? surely it is not good that one man of them be left who being let go might
deceive the whole earth.
As Nabuchodonosor king of all the earth liveth, and as his power liveth, who hath sent thee for the upholding of every living thing: for not only men shall serve him by thee, but also the beasts of the field, and the cattle, and the fowls of the air, shall live by thy power under Nabuchodonosor and all his house.
For this thy confidence shall not depart from the heart of men, which remember the power of God for ever.
And so soon as the morning shall appear, and the sun shall come forth upon the earth, take ye
every one his weapons, and go forth
every valiant man out of the city, and set ye a captain over them, as though ye would go down into the field toward the watch of the Assyrians; but go not down.
And as soon as the morning arose, they
hanged the head of Holofernes upon the wall, and
every man took his weapons, and they went forth by bands unto the straits of the mountain.
But when the Assyrians saw them, they sent to their leaders, which came to their captains and tribunes, and to every one of their rulers.
And fear and
trembling fell upon them, so that there was no man that
durst abide in the sight of his neighbour, but
rushing out all together, they fled into
every way of the plain, and of the hill country.
They also that had camped in the mountains round about Bethulia fled away. Then the children of Israel,
every one that was a
warrior among them,
rushed out upon them.
Thou hast done all these things by thine hand: thou hast done much good to Israel, and God is pleased
therewith: blessed be thou of the
Almighty Lord for
evermore. And all the people said, So be it.
Woe to the nations that rise up against my kindred! the Lord
Almighty will take
vengeance of them in the day of judgment, in putting fire and worms in their flesh; and they shall feel them, and
weep for
ever.
After this time
every one returned to his own inheritance, and
Judith went to Bethulia, and remained in her own possession, and was in her time honourable in all the country.
Therefore those days shall be unto them in the month
Adar, the
fourteenth and
fifteenth day of the same month, with an assembly, and joy, and with
gladness before God, according to the generations for
ever among his people.
That they, who of old and now also are
malicious, may in one day with violence go into the grave, and so
ever hereafter cause our affairs to be well settled, and without trouble.
And open the mouths of the heathen to set forth the praises of the idols, and to
magnify a fleshly king for
ever.
Had so far forth obtained the favour that we
shew toward
every nation, as that he was called our father, and was continually honoured of all the next person unto the king.
Therefore
every city and country
whatsoever, which shall not do according to these things, shall be destroyed without mercy with fire and sword, and shall be made not only unpassable for men, but also most
hateful to wild beasts and fowls for
ever.
Let none of us go without his part of our
voluptuousness: let us leave
tokens of our
joyfulness in
every place: for this is our portion, and our lot is this.

When it is present, men take example at it; and when it is gone, they desire it: it weareth a crown, and triumpheth for
ever, having
gotten the victory,
striving for
undefiled rewards.
But the righteous live for
evermore; their reward also is with the Lord, and the care of them is with the most High.
