Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.
Under the authority of Pharaoh, let them collect all the excess food from these good years, that they may come and lay up the grain to be preserved as food in the cities.
And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.
During those seven years, Joseph collected all the excess food in the land of Egypt and stored it in the cities. In every city he laid up the food from the fields around it.
And when they did
mete it with an
omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.
When they measured it by the
omer, he who gathered much had no
excess, and he who gathered little had no shortfall. Each one gathered as much as he needed to eat.
And a
cubit on the one side, and a
cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall
hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.
And the tent curtains will be a
cubit longer on either side, and the
excess will
hang over the sides of the tabernacle to cover it.
And thou shalt give the money,
wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.
Give the money to Aaron and his sons as the
redemption price for the
excess among the Israelites.”
And Moses took the
redemption money of them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites:
So Moses collected the
redemption money from those in
excess of the number redeemed by the Levites.
Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the
remnant of them the fire consumeth.
‘Surely our foes are destroyed, and fire has consumed their excess.’
Mocker is the name of the proud and
arrogant man— of him who acts with
excessive pride.
Be not over much wicked, neither be thou
foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?
Do not be
excessively wicked, and do not be a
fool. Why should you die before your time?
He that hath not given forth upon
usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man,
He does not
engage in
usury or take
excess interest, but he withholds his hand from iniquity and executes true justice between men.
Hath given forth upon
usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
He engages in
usury and takes
excess interest. Will this son live? He will not! Since he has committed all these abominations, he will surely die; his blood will be on his own head.
In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken
usury and increase, and thou hast
greedily gained of thy neighbours by
extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.
In you they take bribes to shed blood. You
engage in
usury, take
excess interest, and
extort your neighbors. But Me you have forgotten, declares the Lord GOD.
So instead, you ought to
forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be
overwhelmed by
excessive sorrow.
As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.
As it is written: “He who gathered much had no excess, and he who gathered little had no shortfall.”
For though I should
boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for
edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be
ashamed:
For even if I
boast somewhat
excessively about the authority the Lord gave us for building you up rather than
tearing you down, I will not be
ashamed.
And be not
drunk with wine, wherein is
excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in
lasciviousness, lusts,
excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and
abominable idolatries:
Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same
excess of
riot, speaking evil of you:
But be not
excessive toward any; and without
discretion do nothing.
