The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.
The entrance to the bottom floor was on the south side of the temple. A
stairway led up to the middle
level, and from there to the third floor.
My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I
bless the LORD.
My feet stand on
level ground; in the congregations I will
bless the LORD.
Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Teach me Your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path, because of my oppressors.
Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.
You
soak its furrows and
level its ridges; You
soften it with showers and
bless its growth.
Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. May Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
Make a level path for your feet, and all your ways will be sure.
The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright,
dost weigh the path of the just.
The path of the righteous is level; You clear a straight path for the upright.
Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the
plummet: and the
hail shall
sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the
level.
Hail will
sweep away your refuge of lies, and water will flood your hiding place.
When he hath made plain the face thereof,
doth he not cast abroad the
fitches, and
scatter the
cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and
rie in their place?
When he has
leveled its surface, does he not
sow caraway and
scatter cumin? He plants wheat in rows and barley in plots, and
rye within its border.
When it shall
hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.
But
hail will
level the forest, and the city will sink to the depths.
And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and
crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not
forsake them.
I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light before them and rough places into
level ground. These things I will do for them, and I will not
forsake them.
I will go before thee, and make the
crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in
sunder the bars of iron:
“I will go before you and level the mountains; I will break down the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron.
They shall come with
weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not
stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my
firstborn.
They will come with
weeping, and by their
supplication I will lead them; I will make them walk beside streams of waters, on a
level path where they will not
stumble. For I am Israel’s Father, and Ephraim is My
firstborn.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the
folk in the fire, and they shall be
weary.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Babylon’s thick walls will be
leveled, and her high gates consumed by fire. So the labor of the people will be for nothing; the nations will
exhaust themselves to fuel the flames.”
So will I break down the wall that ye have
daubed with untempered
morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will
tear down the wall you
whitewashed and
level it to the ground, so that its foundation is exposed. The city will fall, and you will be destroyed within it. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
Then I will deliver you into the hands of your lovers, and they will
level your mounds and
tear down your lofty shrines. They will strip off your clothes, take your fine
jewelry, and leave you naked and bare.
And the side chambers were three, one over another, and thirty in order; and they entered into the wall which was of the house for the side chambers round about, that they might have hold, but they had not hold in the wall of the house.
The side rooms were arranged one above another in three levels of thirty rooms each. There were ledges all around the wall of the temple to serve as supports for the side rooms, so that the supports would not be fastened into the wall of the temple itself.
And there was an
enlarging, and a winding about still upward to the side chambers: for the winding about of the house went still upward round about the house: therefore the breadth of the house was still upward, and so increased from the lowest chamber to the highest by the midst.
The side rooms surrounding the temple
widened at each successive
level, because the structure surrounding the temple ascended by stages corresponding to the narrowing of the temple wall as it rose upward. And so a
stairway went up from the lowest story to the highest, through the middle one.
The door posts, and the narrow windows, and the
galleries round about on their three stories, over against the door, cieled with wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows, and the windows were covered;
as well as the thresholds and the
beveled windows and the
galleries all around with their three
levels opposite the
threshold, were overlaid with wood on all sides. They were
paneled from the ground to the windows, and the windows were covered.
Over against the twenty cubits which were for the inner court, and over against the
pavement which was for the utter court, was gallery against gallery in three stories.
Gallery faced gallery in three
levels opposite the twenty cubits that belonged to the inner court and opposite the
pavement that belonged to the outer court.
And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and
Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be
healed of their diseases;
Then Jesus came down with them and stood on a
level place. A large crowd of His disciples was there, along with a great number of people from all over
Judea, Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and
Sidon.
And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy
visitation.
They will
level you to the ground—you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your
visitation from God.”
