Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
If a soul sin, and commit a
trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in
fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath
deceived his neighbour;
“If someone sins and acts unfaithfully against the LORD by
deceiving his
neighbor in regard to a deposit or
security entrusted to him or
stolen, or if he extorts his
neighbor Do not take a pair of millstones or even an upper
millstone as
security for a debt, because that would be taking one’s
livelihood as
security.
When thou
dost lend thy brother any thing, thou shalt not go into his house to
fetch his
pledge.
When you
lend anything to your
neighbor, do not enter his house to collect
security.
Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou
dost lend shall bring out the
pledge abroad unto thee.
You are to stand outside while the man to whom you are
lending brings the
security out to you.
And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his
pledge:
If he is a poor man, you must not go to sleep with the security in your possession;

pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow’s
raiment to
pledge:
Do not deny justice to the foreigner or the fatherless, and do not take a widow’s
cloak as
security.
Then said
Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?
But
Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the LORD that you have spoken is good.” For he thought, “Will there not at least be peace and
security in my lifetime?”
Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a
spider’s web.
For you
needlessly demanded

If I have put my trust in gold or called pure gold my security,
My son, if thou be
surety for thy friend, if thou hast
stricken thy hand with a stranger,
My son, if you have put up
security for your
neighbor, if you have struck hands in
pledge with a stranger,
He who puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer, but the one who hates indebtedness is secure.
A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh
surety in the presence of his friend.
A man lacking judgment strikes hands in
pledge and puts up
security for his
neighbor.
Take his garment that is
surety for a stranger: and take a
pledge of him for a strange woman.
Take the garment of the one who posts
security for a stranger; get
collateral if it is for a foreigner.
Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are
sureties for debts.
Do not be one who gives pledges, who puts up security for debts.
Take his garment that is
surety for a stranger, and take a
pledge of him for a strange woman.
Take the garment of him who posts
security for a stranger; get
collateral if it is for a foreigner.

security of
Jason, and of the other, they let them go.

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as
travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
While people are saying, “Peace and
security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a
pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
And that there should be shewed a
paradise, whose fruit endureth for ever, wherein is
security and medicine, since we shall not enter into it?
Make no
tarrying to turn to the Lord, and put not off from day to day: for suddenly shall the wrath of the Lord come forth, and in thy
security thou shalt be destroyed, and perish in the day of
vengeance.
Wherefore they that will depart shall have safe conduct till the
thirtieth day of Xanthicus with
security.
