Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time.
But the men of
Sodom were
wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
But the men of
Sodom were
wicked,
sinning greatly against the LORD.
And Abraham drew near, and said,
Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the
wicked?
Abraham
stepped forward and said, “Will You really
sweep away the righteous with the
wicked?
That be far from thee to do after this manner, to
slay the righteous with the
wicked: and that the righteous should be as the
wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
Far be it from You to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Will not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?”
And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
“Please, my brothers,” he
pleaded, “don’t do such a
wicked thing!
And Er, Judah’s
firstborn, was
wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD
slew him.
But Er, Judah’s
firstborn, was
wicked in the sight of the LORD; so the LORD put him to death.
And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he
slew him also.
What he did was wicked in the sight of the LORD, so He put Onan to death as well.
There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
No one in this house is greater than I am. He has
withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. So how could I do such a great evil and sin against God?”
Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing.
Is this not the cup my master drinks from and uses for
divination? What you have done is
wicked!’”
And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have
sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are
wicked.
Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. “This time I have
sinned,” he said. “The LORD is righteous, and I and my people are
wicked.
Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
“You shall not spread a false report. Do not join the
wicked by being a
malicious witness.
Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous
slay thou not: for I will not
justify the
wicked.
Stay far away from a false
accusation. Do not kill the innocent or the just, for I will not
acquit the guilty.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near
kinswomen: it is
wickedness.
You must not have sexual relations with both a woman and her daughter. You are not to marry her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter and have sexual relations with her. They are close relatives; it is
depraved.
Do not
prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a
whore; lest the land fall to
whoredom, and the land become full of
wickedness.
And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.
If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is
depraved. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that there will be no
depravity among you.
And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
If a man marries his sister, whether the daughter of his father or of his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off in the sight of their people. He has uncovered the nakedness of his sister; he shall bear his iniquity.
How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which
murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they
murmur against me.
“How long will this
wicked congregation
grumble against Me? I have heard the complaints that the Israelites are making against Me.
I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will surely do these things to this entire
wicked congregation, which has
conspired against Me. They will meet their end in the wilderness, and there they will die.”
And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
And he
warned the congregation, “Move away now from the tents of these
wicked men. Do not touch anything that belongs to them, or you will be swept away because of all their sins.”
Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the
wickedness of these nations the LORD
doth drive them out from before thee.
When the LORD your God has driven them out before you, do not say in your heart, “Because of my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land.” Rather, the LORD is driving out these nations before you because of their wickedness.
Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart,
dost thou go to possess their land: but for the
wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God
doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD
sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
It is not because of your righteousness or uprightness of heart that you are going in to possess their land, but it is because of their
wickedness that the LORD your God is driving out these nations before you, to keep the promise He
swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye
sinned, in doing
wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
Then I fell down before the LORD for forty days and forty nights, as I had done the first time. I did not eat bread or drink water because of all the sin you had committed in doing what was evil in the sight of the LORD and
provoking Him to anger.
Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the
stubbornness of this people, nor to their
wickedness, nor to their sin:
Remember Your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Overlook the
stubbornness of this people and the
wickedness of their sin.
And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.
Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such a wicked thing among you.
Certain men, the children of
Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
that
wicked men have arisen from among you and have led the people of their city
astray, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods” (which you have not known),
Beware that there be not a thought in thy
wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him
nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.
Be careful not to
harbor this
wicked thought in your heart: “The seventh year, the year of release, is near,” so that you look upon your poor brother begrudgingly and give him nothing. He will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought
wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in
transgressing his covenant,
If a man or woman among you in one of the towns that the LORD your God gives you is found doing evil in the sight of the LORD your God by
transgressing His covenant
Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.
you must bring out to your gates the man or woman who has done this evil thing, and you must stone that person to death.
When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.
When you are
encamped against your enemies, then you shall keep
yourself from every
wicked thing.
If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall
justify the righteous, and
condemn the
wicked.
If there is a dispute between men, they are to go to court to be judged, so that the innocent may be
acquitted and the guilty condemned.
And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
If the guilty man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall have him lie down and be
flogged in his presence with the number of lashes his crime warrants.
The LORD shall send upon thee
cursing,
vexation, and
rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the
wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast
forsaken me.
The LORD will send curses upon you, confusion and reproof in all to which you put your hand, until you are destroyed and quickly perish because of the
wickedness you have committed in
forsaking Him.
Thus God rendered the
wickedness of
Abimelech, which he did unto his father, in
slaying his seventy brethren:
In this way God repaid the
wickedness that
Abimelech had done to his father in murdering his seventy brothers.
And all the evil of the men of
Shechem did God render upon their heads: and upon them came the
curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.
And God also brought all the
wickedness of the men of
Shechem back upon their own heads. So the
curse of Jotham son of Jerubbaal came upon them.
Now as they were making their hearts
merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of
Belial,
beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.
While they were enjoying themselves, suddenly the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they said to the old man who owned the house, “Bring out the man who came to your house, so we can have relations with him!”
And the man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them,
Nay, my brethren,
nay, I pray you, do not so
wickedly; seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly.
The owner of the house went out and said to them, “No, my brothers, do not do this
wicked thing! After all, this man is a
guest in my house. Do not commit this
outrage.
(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?
(Meanwhile the Benjamites heard that the Israelites had gone up to
Mizpah.) And the Israelites asked, “Tell us, how did this
wicked thing happen?”
And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness is this that is done among you?
And the tribes of Israel sent men throughout the tribe of Benjamin, saying, “What is this wickedness that has occurred among you?
Now therefore deliver us the men, the children of
Belial, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not
hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel:
Hand over the
wicked men of Gibeah so we can put them to death and
purge Israel of this evil.” But the Benjamites refused to
heed the voice of their fellow Israelites.
Count not thine
handmaid for a daughter of
Belial: for out of the abundance of my
complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.
Do not take your servant for a
wicked woman; for all this time I have been praying out of the depth of my
anguish and grief.”
He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
He guards the steps of His faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness; for by his own strength shall no man prevail.
Now the sons of
Eli were sons of
Belial; they knew not the LORD.
Now the sons of
Eli were
wicked men; they had no regard for the LORD
And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.
“Why are you doing these things?”
Eli said to his sons. “I hear about your
wicked deeds from all these people.
Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send
thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your
wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king.
Is it not the wheat harvest
today? I will call on the LORD to send
thunder and rain, so that you will know and see what a great evil you have committed in the sight of the LORD by asking for a king.”
And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;
“Do not be afraid,” Samuel replied. “Even though you have committed all this evil, do not turn aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart.
But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.
But if you
persist in doing evil, both you and your king will be swept away.”
For rebellion is as the sin of
witchcraft, and
stubbornness is as iniquity and
idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
For rebellion is like the sin of
divination, and
arrogance is like the
wickedness of
idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you as king.”
And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was
kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down
hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the
naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.
Now when David’s oldest brother Eliab heard him speaking to the men, his anger burned against David. “Why have you come down here?” he asked. “And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and wickedness of heart—you have come down to see the battle!”
As saith the
proverb of the ancients,
Wickedness proceedeth from the
wicked: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.
As the old
proverb says, ‘
Wickedness proceeds from the
wicked.’ But my hand will never be against you.
And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be the LORD, that hath
pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for the LORD hath returned the
wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and communed with
Abigail, to take her to him to wife.
On hearing that Nabal was dead, David said, “Blessed be the LORD, who has
upheld my cause against the reproach of Nabal and has restrained His servant from evil. For the LORD has brought the
wickedness of Nabal down upon his own head.” Then David sent word to
Abigail, asking for her in marriage.
Then answered all the
wicked men and men of
Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the
spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.
but all the
wicked and worthless men among those who had gone with David said, “Because they did not go with us, we will not share with them the
plunder we recovered, except for each man’s wife and children. They may take them and go.”
Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet put into
fetters: as a man falleth before
wicked men, so fellest thou. And all the people
wept again over him.
Your hands were not bound, your feet were not
fettered. As a man falls before the
wicked, so also you fell.” And all the people
wept over him even more.
And I am this day weak, though
anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the
doer of evil according to his
wickedness.
And I am weak this day, though
anointed as king, and these men, the sons of Zeruiah, are too fierce for me. May the LORD repay the
evildoer according to his evil!”
How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?
How much more, when wicked men kill a righteous man in his own house and on his own bed, shall I not now require his blood from your hands and remove you from the earth!”
Moreover I will
appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of
wickedness afflict them any more, as
beforetime,
And I will provide a place for My people Israel and will plant them so that they may dwell in a place of their own and be disturbed no more. No longer will the sons of
wickedness oppress them as they did at the beginning
For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
For I have kept the ways of the LORD and have not wickedly departed from my God.
And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that
smote the people, and said, Lo, I have
sinned, and I have done
wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father’s house.
When David saw the angel striking down the people, he said to the LORD, “Surely I, the
shepherd, have
sinned and acted
wickedly. But these sheep, what have they done? Please, let Your hand fall upon me and my father’s house.”
And Solomon said, If he will
shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if
wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.
And Solomon replied, “If he is a man of character, not a single hair of his will fall to the ground. But if evil is found in him, he will die.”
The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the
wickedness which thine heart is privy to, that thou
didst to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return thy
wickedness upon thine own head;
The king also said, “You know in your heart all the evil that you did to my father David. Therefore the LORD will bring your evil back upon your head.
Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants,
condemning the
wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and
justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.
then may You hear from heaven and act. May You judge Your servants,
condemning the
wicked man by bringing down on his own head what he has done, and
justifying the righteous man by rewarding him according to his righteousness.
and when they come to their senses in the land to which they were taken, and they
repent and
plead with You in the land of their captors, saying, ‘We have
sinned and done wrong; we have acted
wickedly,’
But Omri wrought evil in the eyes of the LORD, and did worse than all that were before him.
But Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD and acted more wickedly than all who were before him.
But there was none like unto
Ahab, which did sell himself to work
wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom
Jezebel his wife
stirred up.
(Surely there was never one like
Ahab, who sold himself to do evil in the sight of the LORD, incited by his wife
Jezebel.
And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought
wicked things to
provoke the LORD to anger:
They burned incense on all the high places like the nations that the LORD had driven out before them. They did
wicked things,
provoking the LORD to anger.
Yet the LORD
testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
Yet through all His prophets and seers, the LORD
warned Israel and Judah, saying, “Turn from your
wicked ways and keep My commandments and statutes, according to the entire Law that I commanded your fathers and delivered to you through My servants the prophets.”
And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much
wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced
sorcery and
divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did great evil in the sight of the LORD,
provoking Him to anger.
Because
Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done
wickedly above all that the
Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:
“Since
Manasseh king of Judah has committed all these abominations, acting more
wickedly than the
Amorites who preceded him, and with his idols has caused Judah to sin,
The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: which three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the
firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the LORD; and he
slew him.
The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him by Bath-shua the
Canaanite. Er, Judah’s
firstborn, was
wicked in the sight of the LORD, who put him to death.
Also I will
ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of
wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
And I will provide a place for My people Israel and will plant them so that they may dwell in a place of their own and be disturbed no more. No longer will the sons of
wickedness oppress them as they did at the beginning
And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have
sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father’s house; but not on thy people, that they should be plagued.
And David said to God, “Was it not I who gave the order to count the people? I am the one who has
sinned and acted
wickedly. But these sheep, what have they done? O LORD my God, please let Your hand fall upon me and my father’s house, but do not let this plague remain upon Your people.”
Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the
wicked, by
recompensing his way upon his own head; and by
justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.
then may You hear from heaven and act. May You judge Your servants,
condemning the
wicked man by bringing down on his own head what he has done, and
justifying the righteous man by rewarding him according to his righteousness.
Yet if they
bethink themselves in the land
whither they are carried
captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have
sinned, we have done
amiss, and have dealt
wickedly;
and when they come to their senses in the land to which they were taken, and they
repent and
plead with You in the land of their captors, saying, ‘We have
sinned and done wrong; we have acted
wickedly,’
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their
wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sin, and will
heal their land.
and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their
wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,
forgive their sin, and
heal their land.
And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of
Belial, and have strengthened themselves against
Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when
Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not
withstand them.
Then worthless and
wicked men gathered around him to resist
Rehoboam son of Solomon when he was young, inexperienced, and unable to resist them.
And
Jehu the son of Hanani the
seer went out to meet him, and said to king
Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that
hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.
Jehu son of Hanani the
seer went out to
confront him and said to King
Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the
wicked and love those who
hate the LORD? Because of this, the wrath of the LORD is upon you.
And after this did
Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with
Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very
wickedly:
Later,
Jehoshaphat king of Judah made an alliance with
Ahaziah king of Israel, who acted
wickedly.
He also walked in the ways of the house of
Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do
wickedly.
Ahaziah also walked in the ways of the house of
Ahab, for his mother was his
counselor in
wickedness.
For the sons of
Athaliah, that
wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD did they
bestow upon
Baalim.
For the sons of that
wicked woman
Athaliah had broken into the house of God and had even used the sacred objects of the house of the LORD for the Baals.
Be it known unto the king, that the Jews which came up from thee to us are come unto Jerusalem, building the
rebellious and the bad city, and have set up the walls thereof, and joined the foundations.
Let it be known to the king that the Jews who came from you to us have returned to Jerusalem. And they are rebuilding that
rebellious and
wicked city, restoring its walls, and repairing its foundations.
Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done
wickedly:
You are just in all that has
befallen us, because You have acted faithfully, while we have acted
wickedly.
For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works.
For even while they were in their kingdom, with the abundant goodness that You had given them, and in the
spacious and fertile land that You had set before them, they would not serve You or turn from their
wicked ways.
But when
Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his
wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be
hanged on the
gallows.
But when it came before the king, he commanded by letter that the
wicked scheme which
Haman had devised against the Jews should come back upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be
hanged on the
gallows.
There the
wicked cease from troubling; and there the
weary be at rest.
There the
wicked cease from
raging, and there the
weary find rest.
Even as I have seen, they that
plow iniquity, and
sow wickedness,
reap the same.
As I have observed, those who
plow iniquity and those who
sow trouble
reap the same.
They that
hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the
wicked shall come to
nought.
Your enemies will be clothed in shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”
This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
It is all the same, and so I say, ‘He destroys both the
blameless and the
wicked.’
The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?
The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; He blindfolds its judges. If it is not He, then who is it?
If I be wicked, why then labour I in vain?
Since I am already found guilty, why should I labor in vain?
Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest
oppress, that thou shouldest
despise the work of thine hands, and
shine upon the counsel of the
wicked?
Does it please You to
oppress me, to
reject the work of Your hands and favor the schemes of the
wicked?
Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand.
though You know that I am not guilty, and there is no
deliverance from Your hand?
If I be
wicked,
woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine
affliction;
If I am guilty,
woe to me! And even if I am righteous, I cannot lift my head. I am full of shame and aware of my
affliction.
For he knoweth vain men: he
seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?
Surely He knows the
deceit of men. If He sees iniquity, does He not take note?
If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
if you put away the iniquity in your hand, and allow no injustice to dwell in your tents,
But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.
But the eyes of the
wicked will fail, and escape will
elude them; they will hope for their last breath.”
Will ye speak
wickedly for God? and talk
deceitfully for him?
Will you speak
wickedly on God’s behalf or speak
deceitfully for Him?
The
wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the
oppressor.
A
wicked man writhes in pain all his days; only a few years are reserved for the
ruthless.
God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.
God has delivered me to unjust men; He has thrown me to the
clutches of the
wicked.
Yea, the light of the
wicked shall be put out, and the
spark of his fire shall not
shine.
Indeed, the lamp of the
wicked is
extinguished; the flame of his fire does not
glow.
Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
Surely such is the dwelling of the wicked and the place of one who does not know God.”
