After them, seven other heads of grain
sprouted, thin and
scorched by the east wind.
And, behold, seven ears,
withered, thin, and
blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:
And the seven thin and ill favoured
kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears
blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.
Moreover, the seven thin,
ugly cows that came up after them are seven years, and so are the seven worthless heads of grain
scorched by the east wind—they are seven years of famine.
And with the
blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an
heap, and the depths were
congealed in the heart of the sea.
At the
blast of Your nostrils the waters piled up; like a wall the currents stood firm; the depths
congealed in the heart of the sea.
There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the
trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.
No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with arrows—whether man or beast, he must not live.’ Only when the ram’s horn sounds a long blast may they approach the mountain.”
And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the
trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp
trembled.
On the third day, when morning came, there was
thunder and
lightning. A thick cloud was upon the mountain, and a very loud
blast of the ram’s horn went out, so that all the people in the camp
trembled.
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a
memorial of blowing of
trumpets, an holy
convocation.
“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly
announced by
trumpet blasts.
When ye blow an
alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.
When you sound short blasts, the camps that lie on the east side are to set out.
When ye blow an
alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an
alarm for their journeys.
When you sound the short blasts a second time, the camps that lie on the south side are to set out. The blasts are to signal them to set out.
But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an
alarm.
To
convene the assembly, you are to sound long
blasts, not short ones.
And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an
alarm with the
trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
When you enter into battle in your land against an
adversary who attacks you, sound short
blasts on the
trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God and saved from your enemies.
The LORD shall
smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with
blasting, and with
mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
The LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with
scorching heat and
drought, and with
blight and
mildew; these will pursue you until you perish.
And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long
blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the
trumpet, all the people shall
shout with a great
shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall
ascend up every man straight before him.
And when there is a long
blast of the ram’s horn and you hear its sound, have all the people give a mighty
shout. Then the wall of the city will
collapse and all your people will charge straight into the city.”
So the people
shouted when the priests
blew with the
trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the
trumpet, and the people
shouted with a great
shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
So when the rams’ horns sounded, the people
shouted. When they heard the
blast of the horn, the people gave a great
shout, and the wall
collapsed. Then all the people charged straight into the city and captured it.
And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the
rebuking of the LORD, at the
blast of the breath of his nostrils.
The channels of the sea appeared, and the foundations of the world were exposed at the
rebuke of the LORD, at the
blast of the breath of His nostrils.
When famine or plague comes upon the land, or
blight or
mildew or locusts or grasshoppers, or when their enemy besieges them in their cities, whatever plague or sickness may come,
Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
Behold, I will put a spirit in him so that he will hear a
rumor and return to his own land, where I will cause him to fall by the sword.’”
Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green
herb, as the grass on the house tops, and as corn
blasted before it be grown up.
Therefore their inhabitants, devoid of power, are dismayed and
ashamed. They are like plants in the field, tender green shoots, grass on the rooftops,
scorched before it is grown.
When famine or plague comes upon the land, or
blight or
mildew or locusts or grasshoppers, or when their enemies
besiege them in their cities, whatever plague or sickness may come,
By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.
By the breath of God they perish, and by the blast of His anger they are consumed.
At the
blast of the horn, he snorts with
fervor. He catches the
scent of battle from
afar— the shouts of captains and the cry of war.
Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy
rebuke, O LORD, at the
blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
The channels of the sea appeared, and the foundations of the world were exposed, at Your
rebuke, O LORD, at the
blast of the breath of Your nostrils.
With
trumpets and sound of
cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.
With
trumpets and the
blast of the ram’s horn
shout for joy before the LORD, the King.
He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the
needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the
blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
For You have been a refuge for the poor, a
stronghold for the
needy in distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat. For the breath of the
ruthless is like rain against a wall,
Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
Behold, I will put a spirit in him so that he will hear a
rumor and return to his own land, where I will cause him to fall by the sword.’”

The
bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not
plucked away.
The
bellows blow fiercely,
blasting away the lead with fire. The refining proceeds in vain, for the wicked are not
purged.
As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to
melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my
fury, and I will leave you there, and
melt you.
Just as one gathers silver, copper, iron, lead, and tin into the furnace to
melt with a
fiery blast, so I will gather you in My anger and wrath, leave you there, and
melt you.
I have
smitten you with
blasting and
mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the
palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
“I struck you with
blight and
mildew in your growing gardens and vineyards; the
locust devoured your fig and olive trees, yet you did not return to Me,” declares the LORD.
a day of horn blast and battle cry against the fortified cities, and against the high corner towers.
I
smote you with
blasting and with
mildew and with
hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD.
I struck you—all the work of your hands—with
blight,
mildew, and
hail, but you did not turn to Me, declares the LORD.
And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and
Sidon: but they came with one
accord to him, and, having made
Blastus the king’s
chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was
nourished by the king’s country.
Now Herod was in a
furious dispute with the people of Tyre and
Sidon, and they
convened before him. Having secured the support of
Blastus, the king’s
chamberlain, they asked for peace, because their region depended on the king’s country for food.
And the sound of a
trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
to a
trumpet blast or to a voice that made its hearers
beg that no further word be spoken.
And I
beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice,
Woe,
woe,
woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the
trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
And as I observed, I heard an eagle flying overhead, calling in a loud voice, “
Woe!
Woe!
Woe to those who dwell on the earth, because of the
trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the remaining three angels!”
And I said, Tell on, my lord. Then said he unto me, Go thy way,
weigh me the weight of the fire, or measure me the
blast of the wind, or call me again the day that is past.
But only I saw that he sent out of his mouth as it had been a blast of fire, and out of his lips a flaming breath, and out of his tongue he cast out sparks and tempests.
And they were all mixed together; the
blast of fire, the flaming breath, and the great
tempest; and fell with violence upon the multitude which was prepared to fight, and burned them up every one, so that upon a sudden of an innumerable multitude nothing was to be perceived, but only dust and smell of smoke: when I saw this I was afraid.
And whereas thou sawest, that out of his mouth there came as a blast of wind, and fire, and storm;
They that till the ground shall
mourn: for their seeds shall fail through the
blasting and
hail, and with a fearful
constellation.
Yea, and without these might they have fallen down with one
blast, being
persecuted of
vengeance, and scattered abroad through the breath of thy power: but thou hast ordered all things in measure and number and weight.
