But God came to
Abimelech in a
dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife.
One night, however, God came to
Abimelech in a
dream and told him, “You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken, for she is a married woman.”
And God said unto him in a
dream,
Yea, I know that thou
didst this in the
integrity of thy heart; for I also
withheld thee from
sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.
Then God said to
Abimelech in the
dream, “
Yes, I know that you did this with a clear conscience, and so I have kept you from
sinning against Me. That is why I did not let you touch her.
And he
dreamed, and behold a
ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
And Jacob had a
dream about a
ladder that rested on the earth with its top reaching up to heaven, and God’s angels were going up and down the
ladder.
And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a
dream, and, behold, the rams which
leaped upon the cattle were
ringstraked,
speckled, and
grisled.
When the flocks were breeding, I saw in a
dream that the
streaked,
spotted, and
speckled males were mating with the females.
And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.
In that dream the angel of God said to me, ‘Jacob!’ And I replied, ‘Here I am.’
And God came to
Laban the
Syrian in a
dream by night, and said unto him, Take
heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
But that night God came to
Laban the
Aramean in a
dream and
warned him, “Be careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.”
And Joseph
dreamed a
dream, and he told it his brethren: and they
hated him yet the more.
Then Joseph had a
dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they
hated him even more.
And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:
He said to them, “
Listen to this
dream I had:
And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they
hated him yet the more for his
dreams, and for his words.
“Do you intend to reign over us?” his brothers asked. “Will you actually rule us?” So they
hated him even more because of his
dream and his statements.
And he
dreamed yet another
dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have
dreamed a
dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made
obeisance to me.
Then Joseph had another dream and told it to his brothers. “Look,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”
And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father
rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this
dream that thou hast
dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?
He told his father and brothers, but his father
rebuked him and said, “What is this
dream that you have had? Will your mother and brothers and I actually come and bow down to the ground before you?”
And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.
“Here comes that dreamer!” they said to one another.
Come now therefore, and let us
slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath
devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his
dreams.
“Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits. We can say that a
vicious animal has
devoured him. Then we shall see what becomes of his
dreams!”
And they
dreamed a
dream both of them, each man his
dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his
dream, the
butler and the
baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.
both of these men—the Egyptian king’s
cupbearer and
baker, who were being held in the prison—had a
dream on the same night, and each
dream had its own meaning.
And they said unto him, We have
dreamed a
dream, and there is no
interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
“We both had
dreams,” they replied, “but there is no one to
interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them, “Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell me your
dreams.”
And the chief
butler told his
dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my
dream, behold, a vine was before me;
So the chief
cupbearer told Joseph his
dream: “In my
dream there was a vine before me,
When the chief
baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my
dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
When the chief
baker saw that the interpretation was favorable, he said to Joseph, “I too had a
dream: There were three baskets of white bread on my head.
And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.
After two full years had passed, Pharaoh had a dream: He was standing beside the Nile,
And he
slept and
dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one
stalk, rank and good.
but he fell back
asleep and
dreamed a second time: Seven heads of grain,
plump and ripe, came up on one
stalk.
And the seven thin ears
devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh
awoke, and, behold, it was a
dream.
And the thin heads of grain
swallowed up the seven
plump, ripe ones. Then Pharaoh
awoke and realized it was a
dream.
And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his
dream; but there was none that could
interpret them unto Pharaoh.
In the morning his spirit was troubled, so he summoned all the magicians and wise men of Egypt. Pharaoh told them his
dreams, but no one could
interpret them for him.
And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.
One night both the chief
baker and I had
dreams, and each
dream had its own meaning.
And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our
dreams; to each man according to his
dream he did
interpret.
Now a young Hebrew was there with us, a servant of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams and he interpreted them for us individually.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have
dreamed a
dream, and there is none that can
interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a
dream to
interpret it.
Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I had a
dream, and no one can
interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a
dream you can
interpret it.”
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:
Then Pharaoh said to Joseph: “In my dream I was standing on the bank of the Nile,
And I saw in my
dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one
stalk, full and good:
In my
dream I also saw seven heads of grain,
plump and ripe, growing on a single
stalk.
And the thin ears
devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.
And the thin heads of grain
swallowed the seven
plump ones. I told this
dream to the magicians, but no one could explain it to me.”
And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.
At this, Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same. God has revealed to Pharaoh what He is about to do.
The seven good
kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the
dream is one.
The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven ripe heads of grain are seven years. The dreams have the same meaning.
And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.
Moreover, because the dream was given to Pharaoh in two versions, the matter has been decreed by God, and He will carry it out shortly.
And Joseph remembered the
dreams which he
dreamed of them, and said unto them, Ye are
spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.
Joseph remembered his
dreams about them and said, “You are
spies! You have come to see if our land is
vulnerable.”
And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, will
reveal Myself to him in a vision; I will speak to him in a
dream.
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
If a prophet or dreamer of dreams arises among you and proclaims a sign or wonder to you,
Thou shalt not
hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that
dreamer of
dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
you must not
listen to the words of that prophet or
dreamer. For the LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
And that prophet, or that
dreamer of
dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of
bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
Such a prophet or
dreamer must be put to death, because he has advocated rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery; he has tried to turn you from the way in which the LORD your God has commanded you to walk. So you must
purge the evil from among you.
And when
Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a
dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I
dreamed a
dream, and, lo, a
cake of barley bread
tumbled into the host of
Midian, and came unto a tent, and
smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.
And as
Gideon arrived, a man was telling his friend about a
dream. “Behold, I had a
dream,” he said, “and I saw a
loaf of barley bread come
tumbling into the Midianite camp. It struck the tent so hard that the tent overturned and
collapsed.”
And it was so, when
Gideon heard the telling of the
dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD hath delivered into your hand the host of
Midian.
When
Gideon heard the
dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship. He returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Get up, for the LORD has delivered the camp of
Midian into your hand.”
And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by
dreams nor by
Urim, nor by prophets.
He inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him by
dreams or
Urim or prophets.
And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am
sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by
dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.
Then Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?” “I am deeply distressed,” replied Saul. “The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do.”
In
Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a
dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
One night at
Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a
dream, and God said, “Ask, and I will give it to you!”
And Solomon
awoke; and, behold, it was a
dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
Then Solomon
awoke, and indeed it had been a
dream. So he returned to Jerusalem, stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Then he held a feast for all his servants.
Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions:
He shall fly away as a
dream, and shall not be found:
yea, he shall be
chased away as a vision of the night.
He will fly away like a
dream, never to be found; he will be
chased away like a vision in the night.
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
In a
dream, in a vision in the night, when deep sleep falls upon men as they
slumber on their beds,
As a
dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt
despise their image.
When the LORD turned again the captivity of
Zion, we were like them that
dream.
When the LORD restored the
captives of
Zion, we were like
dreamers.
For a
dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a
fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.
As a
dream comes through many cares, so the speech of a
fool comes with many words.
For in the multitude of
dreams and many words there are also
divers vanities: but fear thou God.
For as many
dreams bring
futility, so do many words. Therefore, fear God.
And the multitude of all the nations that fight against
Ariel, even all that fight against her and her
munition, and that distress her, shall be as a
dream of a night vision.
All the many nations going out to battle against
Ariel— even all who war against her, laying siege and attacking her— will be like a
dream, like a vision in the night,
It shall even be as when an
hungry man
dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a
thirsty man
dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is
faint, and his soul hath
appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount
Zion.
as when a
hungry man
dreams he is eating, then awakens still
hungry; as when a
thirsty man
dreams he is drinking, then awakens
faint and
parched. So will it be for all the many nations who go to battle against Mount
Zion.
His
watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all
dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to
slumber.
Israel’s
watchmen are blind, they are all
oblivious; they are all
mute dogs, they cannot bark; they are
dreamers lying around, loving to
slumber.
I have heard what the prophets said, that
prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have
dreamed, I have
dreamed.
“I have heard the sayings of the prophets who
prophesy lies in My name: ‘I had a
dream! I had a
dream!’
Which think to cause my people to
forget my name by their
dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for
Baal.
They suppose the
dreams that they tell one another will make My people
forget My name, just as their fathers
forgot My name through the worship of
Baal.
The prophet that hath a
dream, let him tell a
dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the
chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
Let the prophet who has a dream retell it, but let him who has My word speak it truthfully. For what is straw compared to grain?” declares the LORD.
Behold, I am against them that
prophesy false
dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to
err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
“Indeed,” declares the LORD, “I am against those who
prophesy false
dreams and retell them to lead My people
astray with their
reckless lies. It was not I who sent them or commanded them, and they are of no benefit at all to these people,” declares the LORD.
Therefore
hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your
dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:
But as for you, do not
listen to your prophets, your diviners, your interpreters of
dreams, your mediums, or your sorcerers who declare, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon.’
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you,
deceive you, neither
hearken to your
dreams which ye cause to be
dreamed.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “Do not be
deceived by the prophets and diviners among you, and do not
listen to the
dreams you
elicit from them.
As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding in every kind of literature and wisdom. And Daniel had insight into all kinds of visions and dreams.
In the second year of his reign,
Nebuchadnezzar had
dreams that troubled his spirit, and sleep escaped him.
Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to
shew the king his
dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
So the king gave orders to
summon the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers, and astrologers to explain his
dreams. When they came and stood before the king,
And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.
he said to them, “I have had a dream, and my spirit is anxious to understand it.”
Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the
dream, and we will
shew the interpretation.
Then the astrologers answered the king in
Aramaic, “O king, may you live
forever! Tell your servants the
dream, and we will give the interpretation.”
The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the
dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a
dunghill.
The king replied to the astrologers, “My word is final: If you do not tell me the
dream and its interpretation, you will be cut into pieces and your houses will be reduced to
rubble.
But if ye
shew the
dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore
shew me the
dream, and the interpretation thereof.
But if you tell me the dream and its interpretation, you will receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. So tell me the dream and its interpretation.”
They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the
dream, and we will
shew the interpretation of it.
They answered a second time, “Let the king tell the dream to his servants, and we will give the interpretation.”
But if ye will not make known unto me the
dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the
dream, and I shall know that ye can
shew me the interpretation thereof.
If you do not tell me the
dream, there is only one decree for you. You have
conspired to speak before me false and
fraudulent words, hoping the situation will change. Therefore tell me the
dream, and I will know that you can give me its interpretation.”
I
thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.
To You, O God of my fathers, I give
thanks and praise, because You have given me wisdom and power. And now You have made known to me what we have requested, for You have made known to us the
dream of the king.”
The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
The king
responded to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to tell me what I saw in the
dream, as well as its interpretation?”
But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king
Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy
dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King
Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the latter days. Your
dream and the visions that came into your mind as you lay on your bed were these:
This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
This was the dream; now we will tell the king its interpretation.
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it
brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass
hereafter: and the
dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
And just as you saw a stone being cut out of the mountain without human hands, and it
shattered the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold, so the great God has told the king what will happen in the future. The
dream is true, and its interpretation is
trustworthy.”
I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.
I had a
dream, and it
frightened me; while in my bed, the images and visions in my mind
alarmed me.
Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
So I issued a decree that all the wise men of Babylon be brought before me to
interpret the
dream for me.
Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
When the magicians, enchanters, astrologers, and diviners came in, I told them the
dream, and they could not
interpret it for me.
But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,
But at last, into my presence came Daniel (whose name is Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods). And I told him the dream:
O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
“O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no
mystery baffles you. So explain to me the visions I saw in my
dream, and their interpretation.
This
dream I king
Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof,
forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
This is the
dream that I, King
Nebuchadnezzar, saw. Now, Belteshazzar, tell me the interpretation, because none of the wise men of my kingdom can
interpret it for me. But you are able, because the spirit of the holy gods is in you.”
Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was
astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the
dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the
dream be to them that
hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
For a time, Daniel, who was also known as Belteshazzar, was
perplexed, and his thoughts
alarmed him. So the king said, “Belteshazzar, do not let the
dream or its interpretation
alarm you.” “My lord,” replied Belteshazzar, “may the
dream apply to those who
hate you, and its interpretation to your enemies!
Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding,
interpreting of
dreams, and
shewing of hard sentences, and
dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will
shew the interpretation.
did this because Daniel, the one he named Belteshazzar, was found to have an extraordinary spirit, as well as knowledge, understanding, and the ability to
interpret dreams, explain
riddles, and
solve difficult problems.
Summon Daniel, therefore, and he will give you the interpretation.”
In the first year of
Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a
dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the
dream, and told the sum of the matters.
In the first year of the reign of
Belshazzar over Babylon, Daniel had a
dream, and visions passed through his mind as he lay on his bed. He wrote down the
dream, and this is the summary of his account.
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your old men shall
dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
And afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will
prophesy, your old men will
dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false
dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no
shepherd.
For idols speak
deceit and diviners see illusions; they tell false
dreams and offer empty comfort. Therefore the people
wander like sheep,
oppressed for lack of a
shepherd.
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
But after he had
pondered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a
dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to embrace Mary as your wife, for the One conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
And being
warned of God in a
dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
And having been
warned in a
dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their country by another route.
And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a
dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and
flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
When the
Magi had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a
dream. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and
flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”
But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.
But when he heard that
Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being
warned of God in a
dream, he turned aside into the parts of
Galilee:
But when he learned that
Archelaus was reigning in
Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And having been
warned in a
dream, he withdrew to the district of
Galilee,
When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
While
Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Have nothing to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered
terribly in a
dream today because of Him.”
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall
dream dreams:
‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will
prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will
dream dreams.
Yet in the same way these
dreamers defile their bodies,
reject authority, and
slander glorious beings.
Or is my sense
deceived, or my soul in a
dream?
Then saw I a
dream, and, behold, there came up from the sea an eagle, which had twelve
feathered wings, and three heads.
This is the dream that thou sawest, and these are the interpretations.
And it came to pass after seven days, I dreamed a dream by night:
Shew me now yet the interpretation of this
dream.
Therefore are they come into great perils and many
necessities, like as these
dreams declare.
This is the interpretation of the
dream which thou sawest, and whereby thou only art here
lightened.
That thou lay up in thy heart the signs that I have shewed, and the dreams that thou hast seen, and the interpretations which thou hast heard:
For I remember a dream which I saw concerning these matters, and nothing thereof hath failed.
In the second year of the reign of Artexerxes the great, in the first day of the month
Nisan, Mardocheus the son of Jairus, the son of Semei, the son of Cisai, of the tribe of Benjamin, had a
dream;
