I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor
rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast
filled me with
indignation.
I never sat with the band of revelers, nor did I
celebrate with them. Because Your hand was on me, I sat alone, for You have
filled me with
indignation.
And first I will
recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have
defiled my land, they have
filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their
detestable and
abominable things.
And I will first repay them double their iniquity and their sin, because they have
defiled My land with the
carcasses of their
detestable idols, and they have
filled My inheritance with their abominations.”
Because they have
forsaken me, and have
estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have
filled this place with the blood of innocents;
because they have abandoned Me and made this a foreign place. They have burned incense in this place to other gods that neither they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah have ever known. They have filled this place with the blood of the innocent.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts,
Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that
prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Do not
listen to the words of the prophets who
prophesy to you. They are
filling you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
“Can a man hide in secret places where I cannot see him?” declares the LORD. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the LORD.
And I will
satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.
I will fill the souls of the priests abundantly, and will fill My people with My goodness,” declares the LORD.
They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to
fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my
fury, and for all whose wickedness I have
hid my face from this city.
The Chaldeans are coming to fight and to fill those places with the corpses of the men I will strike down in My anger and in My wrath. I have hidden My face from this city because of all its wickedness.
Now the pit wherein
Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies of the men, whom he had slain because of Gedaliah, was it which
Asa the king had made for fear of
Baasha king of Israel: and
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah
filled it with them that were slain.
Now the
cistern into which
Ishmael had thrown all the bodies of the men he had struck down along with Gedaliah was a large one that King
Asa had made for fear of
Baasha king of Israel.
Ishmael son of Nethaniah
filled it with the slain.
The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath
filled the land: for the mighty man hath
stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.
The nations have heard of your shame, and your outcry
fills the earth, because
warrior stumbles over
warrior and both of them have fallen together.”
A sword is upon the liars; and they shall
dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.
A sword is against her false prophets, and they will become fools. A sword is against her warriors, and they will be filled with terror.
For Israel hath not been
forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was
filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.
For Israel and Judah have not been abandoned by their God, the LORD of Hosts, though their land is full of guilt before the Holy One of Israel.”
Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his
device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the
vengeance of the LORD, the
vengeance of his temple.
Sharpen the arrows!
Fill the quivers! The LORD has
aroused the spirit of the kings of the Medes, because His plan is aimed at Babylon to destroy her, for it is the
vengeance of the LORD—
vengeance for His temple.
The LORD of hosts hath
sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will
fill thee with men, as with caterpillers; and they shall lift up a
shout against thee.
The LORD of Hosts has
sworn by Himself: “Surely I will
fill you up with men as with locusts, and they will
shout in triumph over you.”
Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath
devoured me, he hath
crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath
swallowed me up like a
dragon, he hath
filled his
belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.
And concerning the pillars, the height of one
pillar was eighteen cubits; and a
fillet of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.
Each
pillar was eighteen cubits tall and twelve cubits in circumference; each was hollow, four fingers thick.
Her
filthiness is in her skirts; she remembereth not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my
affliction: for the enemy hath
magnified himself.
Her uncleanness stains her skirts; she did not consider her end. Her
downfall was
astounding; there was no one to comfort her. Look, O LORD, on my
affliction, for the enemy has triumphed!
He giveth his
cheek to him that smiteth him: he is
filled full with reproach.
Let him offer his
cheek to the one who would strike him; let him be
filled with reproach.
And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy
belly to eat, and
fill thy
bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
“Son of man,” He said to me, “eat and
fill your stomach with this
scroll I am giving you.” So I
ate, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth.
They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither
fill their
bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will seem unclean. Their silver and gold cannot save them in the day of the wrath of the LORD. They cannot satisfy their appetites or
fill their stomachs with wealth, for it became the
stumbling block that brought their iniquity.
Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have
filled the land with violence, and have returned to
provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
“Son of man,” He said to me, “do you see this? Is it not enough for the house of Judah to commit the abominations they are practicing here, that they must also
fill the land with violence and continually
provoke Me to anger? Look, they are even putting the branch to their nose!
And he said unto them,
Defile the house, and
fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and
slew in the city.
Then He told them, “
Defile the temple and
fill the courts with the slain. Go forth!” So they went out and began killing throughout the city.
And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the
cherub, and
fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and
scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.
And the LORD said to the man clothed in linen, “Go inside the
wheelwork beneath the
cherubim.
Fill your hands with burning coals from among the
cherubim and
scatter them over the city.” And as I watched, he went in.
Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.
Now when the man went in, the
cherubim were standing on the south side of the temple, and a cloud
filled the inner court.
Then the glory of the LORD went up from the
cherub, and stood over the
threshold of the house; and the house was
filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD’S glory.
Then the glory of the LORD rose from above the
cherubim and stood over the
threshold of the temple. The temple was
filled with the cloud, and the court was
filled with the brightness of the glory of the LORD.
Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.
You have multiplied those you killed in this city and filled its streets with the dead.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy
filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou
didst give unto them;
This is what the Lord GOD says: Because you poured out your wealth and exposed your nakedness in your
promiscuity with your lovers and with all your
detestable idols, and because of the blood of your children which you gave to them,
I will
disperse you among the nations and
scatter you throughout the lands; I will
purge your uncleanness.
Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the
thigh, and the shoulder;
fill it with the choice bones.
Put in the pieces of meat, every good piece—
thigh and shoulder—
fill it with choice bones.
Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the
filthiness of it may be
molten in it, that the
scum of it may be consumed.
Set the empty pot on its coals until it becomes hot and its copper glows. Then its impurity will
melt within; its
rust will be consumed.
Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem,
Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be
replenished, now she is laid waste:
“Son of man, because Tyre has said of Jerusalem, ‘
Aha! The gate to the nations is broken; it has
swung open to me; now that she lies in ruins I will be
filled,’
The ships of
Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou
wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.
When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou
filledst many people; thou
didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy
merchandise.
When your wares went out to sea, you satisfied many nations. You enriched the kings of the earth with your abundant wealth and
merchandise.
By the multitude of thy
merchandise they have
filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast
sinned: therefore I will cast thee as
profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering
cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
By the vastness of your trade, you were
filled with violence, and you
sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mountain of God, and I banished you, O
guardian cherub, from among the
fiery stones.
He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.
He and his people with him, the most
ruthless of the nations, will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt and
fill the land with the slain.
Then will I leave thee upon the land, I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.
I will
abandon you on the land and
hurl you into the open field. I will cause all the birds of the air to settle upon you, and all the beasts of the earth to eat their
fill of you.
And I will lay thy flesh upon the mountains, and fill the valleys with thy height.
I will put your flesh on the mountains and fill the valleys with your remains.
I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee.
I will
drench the land with the flow of your blood, all the way to the mountains— the ravines will be
filled.
When I shall make the land of Egypt
desolate, and the country shall be destitute of that
whereof it was full, when I shall
smite all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am the LORD.
‘When I make the land of Egypt a
desolation and empty it of all that
filled it, when I strike down all who live there, then they will know that I am the LORD.’
And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.
I will fill its mountains with the slain; those killed by the sword will fall on your hills, in your valleys, and in all your ravines.
And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will
fill you with people and animals, and they will multiply and be fruitful. I will make you as inhabited as you once were, and I will make you
prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Then will I
sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your
filthiness, and from all your idols, will I
cleanse you.
I will also
sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will
cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols.
As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Like the numerous flocks for sacrifices at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so the ruined cities will be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
Thus ye shall be
filled at my table with horses and
chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.
And at My table you will eat your fill of horses and riders, of mighty men and warriors of every kind,’ declares the Lord GOD.
So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.
Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.
Then brought he me the way of the north gate before the house: and I looked, and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD: and I fell upon my face.
Then the man brought me to the front of the temple by way of the north gate. I looked and saw the glory of the LORD filling His temple, and I fell facedown.
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the
chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that
smote the image became a great mountain, and
filled the whole earth.
Then the iron, clay, bronze, silver, and gold were
shattered and became like
chaff on the
threshing floor in summer. The wind carried them away, and not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that had struck the statue became a great mountain and
filled the whole earth.
Then was
Nebuchadnezzar full of
fury, and the form of his
visage was changed against
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was
wont to be heated.
At this,
Nebuchadnezzar was
filled with
rage, and the expression on his face changed toward
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego. He gave orders to heat the furnace seven times hotter than usual,
According to their pasture, so were they
filled; they were
filled, and their heart was
exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
When they had pasture, they became satisfied; when they were satisfied, their hearts became proud, and as a result they
forgot Me.
I have sent among you the
pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the
stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
“I sent plagues among you like those of Egypt; I killed your young men with the sword, along with your captured horses. I
filled your nostrils with the
stench of your camp, yet you did not return to Me,” declares the LORD.
But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his
transgression, and to Israel his sin.
As for me, however, I am
filled with power by the Spirit of the LORD, with justice and courage, to declare to Jacob his
transgression and to Israel his sin.
The lion did
tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and
strangled for his lionesses, and
filled his holes with prey, and his dens with
ravin.
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
Thou art
filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy
foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’S right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful
spewing shall be on thy glory.
You will be
filled with shame instead of glory. You too must drink and
expose your
uncircumcision! The cup in the LORD’s right hand will come around to you, and utter disgrace will cover your glory.
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount
Paran.
Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount
Paran.
Selah His glory covered the heavens, and His praise
filled the earth.
In the same day also will I
punish all those that
leap on the
threshold, which
fill their masters’ houses with violence and
deceit.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not
filled with drink; ye
clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a
bag with holes.
You have planted much but harvested little. You eat but never have enough. You drink but never have your
fill. You put on clothes but never get warm. You
earn wages to put into a
bag pierced through.”
And I will
shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will
fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
I will
shake all the nations, and they will come with all their treasures, and I will
fill this house with glory, says the LORD of Hosts.
Now Joshua was clothed with
filthy garments, and stood before the angel.
Now Joshua was dressed in
filthy garments as he stood before the angel.
And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the
filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will
clothe thee with change of
raiment.
So the angel said to those standing before him, “Take off his
filthy clothes!” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have removed your iniquity, and I will
clothe you with splendid robes.”
And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.
And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing there.”
When I have bent Judah for me,
filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O
Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.
For I will bend Judah as My bow and fit it with Ephraim. I will
rouse your sons, O
Zion, against the sons of Greece. I will make you like the sword of a mighty man.
The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall
devour, and
subdue with
sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be
filled like
bowls, and as the corners of the altar.
The LORD of Hosts will shield them. They will destroy and
conquer with slingstones; they will drink and
roar as with wine. And they will be
filled like
sprinkling bowls,
drenched like the corners of the altar.
Then Herod, when he saw that he was
mocked of the wise men, was exceeding
wroth, and sent forth, and
slew all the children that were in
Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had
diligently enquired of the wise men.
When Herod saw that he had been outwitted by the
Magi, he was
filled with
rage. Sending orders, he put to death all the boys in
Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, according to the time he had learned from the
Magi.
Blessed are they which do hunger and
thirst after righteousness: for they shall be
filled.
Blessed are those who hunger and
thirst for righteousness, for they will be
filled.
But when the multitudes saw it, they
marvelled, and
glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
When the crowds saw this, they were
filled with
awe and
glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
No one sews a
patch of
unshrunk cloth on an old garment. For the
patch will pull away from the garment, and a worse
tear will result.
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
They all
ate and were satisfied, and the disciples
picked up twelve
basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
The disciples replied, “Where in this
desolate place could we find enough bread to feed such a large crowd?”
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
They all
ate and were satisfied, and the disciples
picked up seven
basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
So those servants went out into the
highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the
wedding was furnished with guests.
So the servants went out into the streets and gathered
everyone they could find, both evil and good, and the
wedding hall was
filled with guests.
Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your fathers.
Then
Judas, which had
betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned,
repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
When
Judas, who had
betrayed Him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was
filled with
remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders.
And
straightway one of them ran, and took a
spunge, and
filled it with
vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
One of them quickly ran and brought a
sponge. He
filled it with
sour wine, put it on a reed, and held it up for Jesus to drink.
No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.
No one sews a
patch of
unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, and a worse
tear will result.
And they did all eat, and were filled.
They all
ate and were satisfied,
But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
“First let the children have their
fill,” He said. “For it is not right to take the children’s bread and
toss it to the dogs.”
So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.
The people
ate and were satisfied, and the disciples
picked up seven
basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were
filled with
awe and ran to
greet Him.
And one ran and
filled a
spunge full of
vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
And someone ran and
filled a
sponge with
sour wine. He put it on a reed and held it up for Jesus to drink, saying, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if
Elijah comes to take Him down.”
For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be
filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s
womb.
for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He shall never take wine or strong drink, and he will be
filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s
womb.
And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the
salutation of Mary, the
babe leaped in her
womb; and Elisabeth was
filled with the Holy Ghost:
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s
greeting, the
baby leaped in her
womb, and Elizabeth was
filled with the Holy Spirit.
He hath
filled the
hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
He has
filled the
hungry with good things, but has sent the rich away empty.
And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.
All their neighbors were
filled with
awe, and people throughout the hill country of
Judea were talking about these events.

And the Child grew and became strong. He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.
Every valley shall be
filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the
crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
Every valley shall be
filled in, and every mountain and hill made low. The
crooked ways shall be made straight, and the rough ways smooth.
And all they in the
synagogue, when they heard these things, were
filled with wrath,
And they
beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and
filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
And they were all
amazed, and they
glorified God, and were
filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.
And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be
filled. Blessed are ye that
weep now: for ye shall
laugh.
Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be
filled. Blessed are you who
weep now, for you will
laugh.
But as they sailed he fell
asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were
filled with water, and were in
jeopardy.
As they sailed, He fell
asleep, and a
windstorm came down on the lake, so that the boat was being
swamped, and they were in great danger.
And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
They all
ate and were satisfied, and the disciples
picked up twelve
basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

highways and hedges, and
compel them to come in, that my house may be
filled.
So the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the
highways and hedges and
compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.
