And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
Then I saw another
great and
marvelous sign in heaven: seven angels with the seven final plagues, with which the wrath of God is completed.
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God
Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
and they
sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb: “
Great and wonderful are Your works, O Lord God
Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations!
And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go, pour out on the earth the seven
bowls of God’s wrath.”
And men were
scorched with
great heat, and
blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they
repented not to give him glory.
And the people were
scorched by intense heat, and they
cursed the name of God, who had authority over these plagues; yet they did not
repent and give Him glory.
And the sixth angel poured out his
vial upon the
great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
And the sixth angel poured out his
bowl on the
great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the East.
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that
great day of God
Almighty.
These are
demonic spirits that perform signs and go out to all the kings of the earth, to
assemble them for battle on the
great day of God the
Almighty.
And the seventh angel poured out his
vial into the air; and there came a
great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

bowl into the air, and a loud voice came from the throne in the temple, saying, “It is done!”
And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a
great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an
earthquake, and so
great.

flashes of
lightning, and rumblings, and peals of
thunder, and a
great earthquake the likes of which had not occurred since men were upon the earth—so mighty was the
great quake.
And the
great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and
great Babylon came in
remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
The
great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations
collapsed. And God remembered Babylon the
great and gave her the cup of the wine of the
fury of His wrath.
And there fell upon men a
great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men
blasphemed God because of the plague of the
hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding
great.
And
great hailstones weighing almost a hundred pounds each rained down on them from above. And men
cursed God for the plague of
hail, because it was so
horrendous.
And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come
hither; I will
shew unto thee the judgment of the
great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
Then one of the seven angels with the seven
bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the punishment of the
great prostitute, who sits on many waters.
And upon her
forehead was a name written,
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE
GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
And on her
forehead a
mysterious name was written: BABYLON THE
GREAT, THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
And I saw the woman
drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with
great admiration.
I could see that the woman was
drunk with the blood of the saints and witnesses for Jesus. And I was utterly
amazed at the sight of her.
And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
And the woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”
And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having
great power; and the earth was
lightened with his glory.
After this I saw another angel descending from heaven with
great authority, and the earth was
illuminated by his glory.
And he
cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the
great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the
habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a
cage of every unclean and
hateful bird.
And he
cried out in a mighty voice: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the
great! She has become a
lair for demons and a
haunt for every unclean spirit, every unclean bird, and every
detestable beast.
Standing
afar off for the fear of her
torment, saying,
Alas,
alas, that
great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
In fear of her
torment, they will stand at a distance and cry out: “
Woe,
woe to the
great city, the mighty city of Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come.”
The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand
afar off for the fear of her
torment,
weeping and
wailing,
The merchants who sold these things and
grew their wealth from her will stand at a distance, in fear of her
torment. They will
weep and
mourn,
And saying,
Alas,
alas, that
great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
saying: “
Woe,
woe to the
great city, clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!
For in one hour so
great riches is come to
nought. And every
shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood
afar off,
For in a single hour such
fabulous wealth has been destroyed!” Every
shipmaster,
passenger, and
sailor, and all who make their living from the sea, will stand at a distance
And
cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this
great city!
and cry out at the sight of the smoke rising from the fire that consumes her. “What city was ever like this
great city?” they will
exclaim.
Then they will throw dust on their heads as they
weep and
mourn and cry out: “
Woe,
woe to the
great city, where all who had ships on the sea were enriched by her wealth! For in a single hour she has been destroyed.”
And a mighty angel took up a stone like a
great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that
great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
Then a mighty angel
picked up a stone the size of a
great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying: “With such violence the
great city of Babylon will be cast down, never to be seen again.
And the light of a
candle shall
shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the
bridegroom and of the
bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the
great men of the earth; for by thy
sorceries were all nations
deceived.
The light of a lamp will never
shine in you again, and the voices of a
bride and
bridegroom will never call out in you again. For your merchants were the
great ones of the earth, because all the nations were
deceived by your
sorcery.”
And after these things I heard a
great voice of much people in heaven, saying,
Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
After this I heard a sound like the
roar of a
great multitude in heaven,
shouting: “
Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God!
For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the
great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her
fornication, and hath
avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
For His judgments are true and just. He has judged the
great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has
avenged the blood of His servants that was poured out by her hand.”
And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you who serve Him, and those who fear Him, small and great alike!”
And I heard as it were the voice of a
great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying,
Alleluia: for the Lord God
omnipotent reigneth.
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he
cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather
yourselves together unto the
supper of the
great God;
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he
cried out in a loud voice to all the birds flying overhead, “Come, gather together for the
great supper of God,
That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
so that you may eat the flesh of kings and commanders and mighty men, of horses and riders, of
everyone slave and free, small and
great.”
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the
Abyss, holding in his hand a
great chain.
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Then I saw a great white throne and the One seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from His presence, and no place was found for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. And there were open books, and one of them was the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their deeds, as recorded in the books.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.
And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the holy city of Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,
And had a wall
great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written
thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
The city had a great and high wall with twelve gates inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel, and twelve angels at the gates.
So far forth, that he, being
wroth with his people for their
great ungodliness, commanded the kings of the Chaldees to come up against them;
And they took all the holy vessels of the Lord, both great and small, with the vessels of the ark of God, and the king’s treasures, and carried them away into Babylon.
And they that dwelt round about them, and helped them in all things with silver and gold, with horses and cattle, and with very many free gifts of a
great number whose minds were
stirred up
thereto.
Now when
Darius reigned, he made a
great feast unto all his subjects, and unto all his household, and unto all the princes of Media and Persia,
Let every one of us speak a sentence: he that shall overcome, and whose sentence shall seem wiser than the others, unto him shall the king
Darius give
great gifts, and
great things in
token of victory:
O ye men, it is not the
great king, nor the multitude of men, neither is it wine, that excelleth; who is it then that ruleth them, or hath the
lordship over them? are they not women?
And now do ye not believe me? is not the king great in his power? do not all regions fear to touch him?
O ye men, are not women strong? great is the earth, high is the heaven, swift is the sun in his course, for he compasseth the heavens round about, and fetcheth his course again to his own place in one day.
Is he not great that maketh these things? therefore great is the truth, and stronger than all things.
And with that he held his peace. And all the people then
shouted, and said,
Great is Truth, and mighty above all things.
Also of the priests and Levites, and of the chief of their families, the ancients who had seen the former house came to the building of this with
weeping and
great crying.
The copy of the letters which Sisinnes, governor of Syria and Phenice, and Sathrabuzanes, with their companions, rulers in Syria and Phenice, wrote and sent unto
Darius; To king
Darius,
greeting:
Building an house unto the Lord,
great and new, of
hewn and costly stones, and the timber already laid upon the walls.
And those works are done with
great speed, and the work goeth on prosperously in their hands, and with all glory and
diligence is it made.
And as for this house, it was builded many years ago by a king of Israel great and strong, and was finished.
For
Esdras had very
great skill, so that he omitted nothing of the law and commandments of the Lord, but taught all Israel the ordinances and judgments.
King Artexerxes unto
Esdras the priest and reader of the law of the Lord sendeth
greeting:
For both they and their sons have married with their daughters, and the holy seed is mixed with the strange people of the land; and from the beginning of this matter the rulers and the great men have been partakers of this iniquity.
For ever since the time of our fathers we have been and are in great sin, even unto this day.
And all that is
befallen is done unto us for our wicked works and
great sins; for thou, O Lord,
didst make our sins light,
And as
Esdras in his prayer made his confession,
weeping, and lying flat upon the ground before the temple, there gathered unto him from Jerusalem a very
great multitude of men and women and children: for there was
great weeping among the multitude.
And remained there, and did eat no meat nor drink water,
mourning for the
great iniquities of the multitude.
Then went they their way, every one to eat and drink, and make
merry, and to give part to them that had nothing, and to make
great cheer;
I gave you light in a
pillar of fire, and
great wonders have I done among you; yet have ye forgotten me, saith the Lord.
I
Esdras saw upon the mount
Sion a
great people, whom I could not number, and they all praised the Lord with songs.
And in the midst of them there was a young man of a high
stature, taller than all the rest, and upon every one of their heads he set crowns, and was more
exalted; which I
marvelled at
greatly.
So he answered and said unto me, It is the Son of God, whom they have
confessed in the world. Then began I
greatly to
commend them that stood so stiffly for the name of the Lord.
Then the angel said unto me, Go thy way, and tell my people what manner of things, and how great wonders of the Lord thy God, thou hast seen.
And it happened, that when they that dwelt upon the earth began to multiply, and had
gotten them many children, and were a
great people, they began again to be more ungodly than the first.
And unto him thou gavest Isaac, and unto Isaac also thou gavest Jacob and
Esau. As for Jacob, thou
didst choose him to thee, and put by
Esau: and so Jacob became a
great multitude.
And he said unto me, If I should ask thee how
great dwellings are in the midst of the sea, or how many springs are in the beginning of the deep, or how many springs are above the
firmament, or which are the outgoings of
paradise:
Ponder now by
thyself, how
great fruit of wickedness the grain of evil seed hath brought forth.
And when the ears shall be cut down, which are without number, how great a floor shall they fill?
Then said he unto me, Consider with
thyself; as the rain is more than the drops, and as the fire is
greater than the smoke; but the drops and the smoke remain behind: so the quantity which is past did more exceed.
Nevertheless as coming the
tokens, behold, the days shall come, that they which dwell upon earth shall be taken in a
great number, and the way of truth shall be hidden, and the land shall be barren of faith.
To
shew thee such
tokens I have leave; and if thou
wilt pray again, and
weep as now, and fast even days, thou shalt hear yet
greater things.
And he said unto me, Number me the things that are not yet come, gather me together the
dross that are scattered abroad, make me the flowers
green again that are
withered,
And it shall be as it were a great motion; but the place where thou standest shall not be moved.
If thou
wilt pray yet more, and fast seven days again, I shall tell thee
greater things by day than I have heard.
For my spirit was greatly set on fire, and my soul was in distress.
For immediately there was
great and innumerable fruit, and many and
divers pleasures for the taste, and flowers of unchangeable colour, and odours of wonderful smell: and this was done the third day.
And I said, Speak on, my God. Then said he unto me, The sea is set in a wide place, that it might be deep and great.
And that he is of
great mercy, for he multiplieth more and more
mercies to them that are present, and that are past, and also to them which are to come.
But that which keepeth and is kept shall both be preserved: and when the time cometh, the
womb preserved delivereth up the things that
grew in it.
If therefore thou shalt destroy him which with so great labour was fashioned, it is an easy thing to be ordained by thy commandment, that the thing which was made might be preserved.
For many
great miseries shall be done to them that in the latter time shall dwell in the world, because they have walked in
great pride.
Like as a wave is greater than a drop.
And I saw, and
spared it
greatly, and have kept me a
grape of the
cluster, and a plant of a
great people.
Let the multitude perish then, which was born in vain; and let my
grape be kept, and my plant; for with
great labour have I made it perfect.
After thirty years God heard me thine
handmaid, looked upon my misery, considered my trouble, and gave me a son: and I was very
glad of him, so was my husband also, and all my neighbours: and we gave
great honour unto the
Almighty.
So when he grew up, and came to the time that he should have a wife, I made a feast.
Who then should make more
mourning than she, that hath lost so
great a multitude; and not thou, which art
sorry but for one?
And, which is the
greatest of all, the seal of
Sion hath now lost her honour; for she is delivered into the hands of them that
hate us.
And therefore
shake off thy
great heaviness, and put away the multitude of sorrows, that the Mighty may be
merciful unto thee again, and the Highest shall give thee rest and ease from thy labour.
And, behold, suddenly she made a
great cry very fearful: so that the earth
shook at the noise of the woman.
He hath seen that thy way is right: for that thou sorrowest continually for thy people, and makest
great lamentation for
Sion.
And therefore fear not, let not thine heart be
affrighted, but go thy way in, and see the beauty and
greatness of the building, as much as thine eyes be able to see:
And I
beheld, and out of her feathers there
grew other contrary feathers; and they became little feathers and small.
But her heads were at rest: the head in the midst was greater than the other, yet rested it with the residue.
And so it was, that when it reigned, the end of it came, and the place thereof appeared no more: so the next following stood up. and reigned, and had a great time;
And when they so thought, behold, there
awaked one of the heads that were at rest, namely, it that was in the midst; for that was
greater than the two other heads.
And the fourth came, and overcame all the beasts that were past, and had power over the world with
great fearfulness, and over the whole compass of the earth with much wicked oppression; and so long time dwelt he upon the earth with
deceit.
And I saw, and, behold, they appeared no more, and the whole body of the eagle was burnt so that the earth was in
great fear: then
awaked I out of the trouble and
trance of my mind, and from
great fear, and said unto my spirit,
