Therefore
Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were
sore afraid.
Early the next morning
Abimelech got up and summoned all his servants; and when he described to them all that had
happened, the men were
terrified.
And let it come to pass, that the
damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.
Now may it
happen that the
girl to whom I say, ‘Please let down your
jar that I may drink,’ and who responds, ‘Drink, and I will water your camels as well’—let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. By this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”
And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to
enquire of the LORD.
But the children inside her struggled with each other, and she said, “Why is this
happening to me?” So
Rebekah went to inquire of the LORD,
And it came to pass, when
Laban heard the
tidings of Jacob his sister’s son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and
kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told
Laban all these things.
When
Laban heard the news about his sister’s son Jacob, he ran out to meet him. He embraced him and
kissed him and brought him to his home, where Jacob told him all that had
happened.
And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were
grieved, and they were very
wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob’s daughter; which thing ought not to be done.
When Jacob’s sons heard what had
happened, they returned from the field. They were filled with grief and
fury, because
Shechem had committed an
outrage in Israel by lying with Jacob’s daughter—a thing that should not be done.
And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he
hanged.
And it
happened to us just as he had interpreted: I was restored to my position, and the other man was
hanged.”
And they came unto Jacob their father unto the land of
Canaan, and told him all that
befell unto them; saying,
When they reached their father Jacob in the land of
Canaan, they described to him all that had
happened to them:
And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather
yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall
befall you in the last days.
Then Jacob called for his sons and said, “Gather around so that I can tell you what will happen to you in the days to come:
And his sister stood
afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
And his sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.
And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will
appoint thee a place
whither he shall
flee.
If, however, he did not lie in wait, but God allowed it to
happen, then I will
appoint for you a place where he may
flee.
If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full
restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his
theft.
And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we
wot not what is become of him.
Now when the people saw that Moses was delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him!”
For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we
wot not what is become of him.
They told me, ‘Make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him!’
And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things have
befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD?
But Aaron replied to Moses, “Behold, this very day they presented their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD. Since these things have
happened to me, if I had eaten the sin offering
today, would it have been acceptable in the sight of the LORD?”
And it shall be
forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance.
Then the whole congregation of Israel and the foreigners residing among them will be
forgiven, since it
happened to all the people
unintentionally.
When thou art in
tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be
obedient unto his voice;
When you are in distress and all these things have
happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and
listen to His voice.
For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?
Indeed, ask now from one end of the heavens to the other about the days that long preceded you, from the day that God created man on earth: Has anything as great as this ever happened or been reported?
And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired
diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such
abomination is wrought in Israel:
and if it is reported and you hear about it, you must
investigate it thoroughly. If the report is true and such an
abomination has
happened in Israel,
So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of
Nun, and told him all things that
befell them:
Then the two men started back, came down from the hill country, and crossed the river. So they came to Joshua son of
Nun and reported all that had
happened to them.
And
Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this
befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath
forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
“Please, my Lord,”
Gideon replied, “if the LORD is with us, why has all this
happened to us? And where are all His wonders of which our fathers told us, saying, ‘Has not the LORD brought us up out of Egypt?’ But now the LORD has
forsaken us and delivered us into the hand of
Midian.”
(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?
(Meanwhile the Benjamites heard that the Israelites had gone up to
Mizpah.) And the Israelites asked, “Tell us, how did this wicked thing
happen?”
And said, O LORD God of Israel, why is this come to pass in Israel, that there should be to day one tribe lacking in Israel?
“Why, O LORD God of Israel,” they
cried out, “has this
happened in Israel?
Today in Israel one tribe is missing!”
And she went, and came, and
gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her
hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
So
Ruth departed and went out into the field and
gleaned after the harvesters. And she
happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelech.
And
Naomi said unto
Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field.
And
Naomi said to her daughter-in-law
Ruth, “My daughter, it is good for you to work with his young women, so that nothing will
happen to you in another field.”
And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said,
Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing
heretofore.
the Philistines were afraid. “The gods have entered their camp!” they said. “
Woe to us, for nothing like this has
happened before.
And the man said unto
Eli, I am he that came out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there done, my son?
“I have just come from the battle,” the man said to
Eli. “I fled from there
today.” “What
happened, my son?”
Eli asked.
And when the men of
Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not
abide with us: for his hand is
sore upon us, and upon
Dagon our god.
And when the men of
Ashdod saw what was
happening, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel must not stay here with us, because His hand is heavy upon us and upon our god
Dagon.”
And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Beth-shemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that
smote us; it was a chance that
happened to us.
but keep watching it. If it goes up the road to its homeland, toward Beth-shemesh, it is the LORD who has brought on us this great
disaster. But if it does not, then we will know that it was not His hand that punished us and that it
happened by chance.”
And it came to pass, when all that knew him
beforetime saw that, behold, he
prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of
Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?
All those who had formerly known Saul and saw him
prophesying with the prophets asked one another, “What has
happened to the son of
Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?”
Nevertheless Saul spake not any thing that day: for he thought, Something hath
befallen him, he is not clean; surely he is not clean.
Saul said nothing that day because he thought, “Something has
happened to David to make him
ceremonially unclean—surely he is unclean.”
And Saul
sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment
happen to thee for this thing.
Then Saul
swore to her by the LORD: “As surely as the LORD lives, no punishment shall come upon you for this.”
And the young man that told him said, As I
happened by chance upon mount
Gilboa, behold, Saul
leaned upon his
spear; and, lo, the
chariots and
horsemen followed hard after him.
“I
happened to be on Mount
Gilboa,” he replied, “and there was Saul,
leaning on his
spear, with the
chariots and the cavalry closing in on him.
To
fetch about this form of speech hath thy servant
Joab done this thing: and my lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth.
Joab your servant has done this to bring about this change of affairs, but my lord has wisdom like the wisdom of the angel of God, to know everything that
happens in the land.”
Ahimaaz son of
Zadok, however,
persisted and said to
Joab, “Regardless of whatever may
happen, please let me also run behind the
Cushite!” “My son,”
Joab replied, “why do you want to run, since you will not receive a reward?”
And the king said unto Cushi, Is the young man
Absalom safe? And Cushi answered, The enemies of my lord the king, and all that rise against thee to do thee
hurt, be as that young man is.
The king asked the
Cushite, “Is the young man
Absalom all right?” And the
Cushite replied, “May what has become of the young man
happen to the enemies of my lord the king and to all who rise up against you to
harm you.”
And there
happened to be there a man of
Belial, whose name was
Sheba, the son of Bichri, a
Benjamite: and he
blew a
trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of
Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.
Now a worthless man named
Sheba son of Bichri, a
Benjamite,
happened to be there, and he
blew the ram’s horn and
shouted: “We have no share in David, no inheritance in
Jesse’s son. Every man to his tent, O Israel!”
Is this thing done by my lord the king, and thou hast not shewed it unto thy servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?
Has my lord the king let this happen without informing your servant who should sit on the throne after my lord the king?”
For all the sins of
Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they
sinned, and by which they made Israel to sin, in
provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger with their
vanities.
This
happened because of all the sins
Baasha and his son Elah had committed and had caused Israel to commit,
provoking the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their worthless idols.
And it came to pass after these things, that
Naboth the Jezreelite had a
vineyard, which was in
Jezreel, hard by the palace of
Ahab king of Samaria.
And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at
Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of
Elijah doth rest on
Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
When the sons of the prophets who were facing him from
Jericho saw what had
happened, they said, “The spirit of
Elijah rests on
Elisha.” And they went to meet him and bowed down to the ground before him.
Then a lord on whose hand the king
leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
But the officer on whose arm the king
leaned answered the man of God, “Look, even if the LORD were to make windows in heaven, could this really
happen?” “You will see it with your own eyes,” replied
Elisha, “but you will not eat any of it.”
And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a
shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a
shekel, shall be to
morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:
It
happened just as the man of God had told the king: “About this time
tomorrow at the gate of Samaria, two seahs of barley will sell for a
shekel, and a
seah of fine flour will sell for a
shekel.”
And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.
And the officer had answered the man of God, “Look, even if the LORD were to make windows in heaven, could this really
happen?” So
Elisha had replied, “You will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it!”
And so it fell out unto him: for the people
trode upon him in the gate, and he died.
And that is just what
happened to him. The people
trampled him in the
gateway, and he died.
For so it was, that the children of Israel had
sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
All this
happened because the people of Israel had
sinned against the LORD their God, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. They had worshiped other gods
Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but
transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.
This
happened because they did not
listen to the voice of the LORD their God, but
violated His covenant—all that Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded—and would neither
listen nor obey.
Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of
Manasseh, according to all that he did;
Surely this
happened to Judah at the LORD’s command, to remove them from His presence because of the sins of
Manasseh and all that he had done,
For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that
Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
For because of the anger of the LORD, all this
happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until He finally banished them from His presence. And
Zedekiah also rebelled against the king of Babylon.
For Pekah the son of Remaliah
slew in Judah an hundred and twenty thousand in one day, which were all
valiant men; because they had
forsaken the LORD God of their fathers.
For in one day Pekah son of Remaliah killed 120,000
valiant men in Judah. This
happened because they had
forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers.
So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.
So there was great
rejoicing in Jerusalem, for nothing like this had
happened there since the days of Solomon son of David king of Israel.
Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to
enquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.
And so when ambassadors of the rulers of Babylon were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had
happened in the land, God left him alone to test him, that He might know all that was in
Hezekiah’s heart.
But in all this time was not I at Jerusalem: for in the two and
thirtieth year of
Artaxerxes king of Babylon came I unto the king, and after certain days obtained I leave of the king:
While all this was
happening, I was not in Jerusalem, because I had returned to
Artaxerxes king of Babylon in the thirty-second year of his reign. Some time later I obtained leave from the king
Now it came to pass in the days of
Ahasuerus, (this is
Ahasuerus which reigned, from India even unto
Ethiopia, over an hundred and seven and twenty provinces:)
This is what
happened in the days of
Xerxes, who reigned over 127 provinces from India to
Cush.
And
Mordecai walked every day before the court of the women’s house, to know how
Esther did, and what should become of her.
And every day
Mordecai would walk back and forth in front of the court of the
harem to learn about
Esther’s
welfare and what was
happening to her.
When
Mordecai perceived all that was done,
Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on
sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and
cried with a loud and a bitter cry;
When
Mordecai learned of all that had
happened, he
tore his clothes, put on
sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the middle of the city,
wailing loudly and bitterly.
And
Mordecai told him of all that had
happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that
Haman had promised to pay to the king’s
treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.
and
Mordecai told him all that had
happened to him, including the exact amount of money that
Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury in order to destroy the Jews.
And
Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had
befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If
Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.
Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything that had
happened. His advisers and his wife Zeresh said to him, “Since
Mordecai, before whom your
downfall has begun, is Jewish, you will not prevail against him—for surely you will fall before him.”
There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
No
harm befalls the righteous, but the wicked are filled with trouble.
The wise man’s eyes are in his head; but the
fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event
happeneth to them all.
The wise man has eyes in his head, but the
fool walks in darkness. Yet I also came to
realize that one fate overcomes them both.
Then said I in my heart, As it
happeneth to the
fool, so it
happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.
So I said to myself, “The fate of the
fool will also
befall me. What then have I gained by being wise?” And I said to myself that this too is
futile.
That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it is man: neither may he
contend with him that is mightier than he.
Whatever exists was named long ago, and what
happens to a man is
foreknown; but he cannot
contend with one stronger than he.
For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?
Since no one knows what will happen, who can tell him what is to come?
There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity.
There is a
futility that is done on the earth: There are righteous men who get what the actions of the wicked deserve, and there are wicked men who get what the actions of the righteous deserve. I say that this too is
futile.
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
I saw something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; neither is the bread to the wise, nor the wealth to the intelligent, nor the favor to the skillful. For time and chance happen to all.
Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.
But this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘It will not arise; it will not happen.
Take counsel together, and it shall come to
nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
Devise a plan, but it will be
thwarted; state a proposal, but it will not
happen. For God is with us.”
And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation,
whither we
flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?
And on that day the dwellers of this coastland will say, ‘See what has
happened to our source of hope, those to whom we fled for help and
deliverance from the king of Assyria! How then can we escape?’”
And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an
harlot.
At that time Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years—the span of a king’s life. But at the end of seventy years, it will
happen to Tyre as in the song of the
harlot:
Let them bring them forth, and
shew us what shall
happen: let them
shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.
“Let them come and tell us what will
happen. Tell the former things, so that we may
reflect on them and know the outcome. Or
announce to us what is coming.
Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
Behold, the former things have
happened, and now I declare new things. Before they spring forth I
proclaim them to you.”
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
Remember what happened long ago, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me.
Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put if off: and
desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.
But
disaster will come upon you; you will not know how to charm it away. A
calamity will
befall you that you will be unable to ward off.
Devastation will
happen to you suddenly and unexpectedly.
Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
Come near to Me and
listen to this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time it
happened, I was there.” And now the Lord GOD has sent me, accompanied by His Spirit.
A wonderful and
horrible thing is committed in the land;
Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
Therefore hear, O nations, and learn, O congregations, what will happen to them.
And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.
And if you ask
yourself, “Why has this
happened to me?” It is because of the magnitude of your iniquity that your skirts have been
stripped off and your body has been exposed.
Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the
pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.
See how the siege ramps are mounted against the city to capture it. And by sword and famine and plague, the city has been given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What You have spoken has happened, as You now see!
Now the LORD hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have
sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.
and now the LORD has fulfilled it; He has done just as He said. Because you people have
sinned against the LORD and have not obeyed His voice, this thing has
happened to you.
Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have
sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his
testimonies; therefore this evil is
happened unto you, as at this day.
Because you burned incense and
sinned against the LORD, and did not obey the voice of the LORD or walk in His instruction, His statutes, and His
testimonies, this
disaster has
befallen you, as you see
today.”
O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and
espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?
Stand by the road and watch, O dweller of Aroer! Ask the man
fleeing or the woman escaping, ‘What has
happened?’
For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that
Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
For because of the anger of the LORD, all this
happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until He finally banished them from His presence. And
Zedekiah also rebelled against the king of Babylon.
Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
Remember, O LORD, what has happened to us. Look and see our disgrace!
Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove and go into captivity.
You are to say, ‘I am a sign to you.’ Just as it
happened here, so will it be done to them; they will go into exile as
captives.
And of thy garments thou
didst take, and deckedst thy high places with
divers colours, and playedst the
harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.
You took some of your garments and made colorful high places for
yourself, and on them you
prostituted yourself. Such things should not have
happened; never should they have occurred!
My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey,
wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.
And you set before them as a pleasing
aroma the food I had given you—the fine flour, oil, and honey that I had fed you. That is what
happened, declares the Lord GOD.
And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the
tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall
melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall
faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.
And when they ask, ‘Why are you
groaning?’ you are to say, ‘Because of the news that is coming. Every heart will
melt, and every hand will go
limp. Every spirit will
faint, and every
knee will turn to water.’
Yes, it is coming and it will surely
happen, declares the Lord GOD.”
Thus
Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
‘Thus
Ezekiel will be a sign for you; you will do everything that he has done. When this
happens, you will know that I am the Lord GOD.’
To the end that none of all the trees by the waters
exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the
nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
This
happened so that no other trees by the waters would become great in height and set their tops among the clouds, and no other well-watered trees would reach them in height. For they have all been
consigned to death, to the depths of the earth, among the mortals who descend to the Pit.’
And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be
sanctified in thee, O
Gog, before their eyes.
You will advance against My people Israel like a cloud covering the land. It will
happen in the latter days, O
Gog, that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me when I show Myself holy in you before their eyes.
Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day
whereof I have spoken.
Yes, it is coming, and it will surely
happen, declares the Lord GOD. This is the day of which I have spoken.
But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king
Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King
Nebuchadnezzar what will
happen in the latter days. Your dream and the visions that came into your mind as you lay on your bed were these:
As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass
hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.
As you lay on your bed, O king, your thoughts turned to the future, and the
Revealer of Mysteries made known to you what will
happen.
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it
brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass
hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
And just as you saw a stone being cut out of the mountain without human hands, and it
shattered the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold, so the great God has told the king what will
happen in the future. The dream is true, and its interpretation is
trustworthy.”
And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the
indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
and said, “Behold, I will make known to you what will happen in the latter time of wrath, because it concerns the appointed time of the end.
Now I am come to make thee understand what shall
befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision concerns those days.”
Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
Yet the number of the Israelites will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or counted. And it will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’
Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
Hear this, O elders; and give ear, all who dwell in the land. Has anything like this ever happened in your days or in the days of your fathers?
The LORD
repented for this: It shall not be, saith the LORD.
So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen,” He said.
