swallowed him up!”

transgression of the wicked saith within my
heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

oracle is in my
heart regarding the
transgression of the wicked man: There is no fear of God before his eyes.

deaf man,
heard not; and I was as a
dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

deaf man, I do not
hear; and like a

Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
I am like a man who cannot hear, whose mouth offers no reply.
For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou
wilt hear, O Lord my God.

heart was hot within me, while I was
musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,

iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my
heart faileth me.

heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou
didst in their days, in the times of old.

heart is
inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Your arrows
pierce the
hearts of the king’s foes; the nations fall beneath your feet.

incline thine ear;
forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house;

heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever.

fool hath said in his
heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done

vile. There is no one who does good.

hear me: I
mourn in my
complaint, and make a noise;
My
heart is
sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.

heart murmurs within me, and the terrors of death
assail me.
Evening, and morning, and at
noon, will I pray, and cry
aloud: and he shall
hear my voice.

But God has surely heard; He has attended to the sound of my prayer.
But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

heart pure; in

heart was

forever.

heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

I call to
remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own
heart: and my spirit made
diligent search.
At night I remembered my song; in my
heart I
mused, and my spirit
pondered:
Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
that we have heard and known and our fathers have relayed to us.
And might not be as their fathers, a
stubborn and
rebellious generation; a generation that set not their
heart aright, and whose spirit was not
stedfast with God.
Then they will not be like their fathers, a
stubborn and
rebellious generation, whose
heart was not
loyal, whose spirit was not faithful to God.
And they
tempted God in their
heart by asking meat for their
lust.
Therefore the LORD
heard this, and was
wroth: so a fire was
kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;
Therefore the LORD
heard and was filled with wrath; so a fire was
kindled against Jacob, and His anger
flared against Israel,
For their
heart was not right with him, neither were they
stedfast in his covenant.
Their
hearts were
disloyal to Him, and they were unfaithful to His covenant.

hearing it, God was
furious and rejected Israel completely.

Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims,

shine forth
This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.
He ordained it as a testimony for Joseph when he went out over the land of Egypt, where I heard an unfamiliar language:
Hear, O My people, and I will
warn you: O Israel, if only you would
listen to Me!
But my people would not
hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.
But My people would not
listen to Me, and Israel would not obey Me.
So I gave them up unto their own
hearts’
lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
So I gave them up to their
stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.
Oh that my people had
hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!
If only My people would
listen to Me, if Israel would follow My ways,
My soul longeth,
yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my
heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
My soul longs, even
faints, for the courts of the LORD; my
heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose
hearts are set on
pilgrimage.
O LORD God of hosts,
hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob.
Selah.
O LORD God of Hosts,
hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob.
Selah I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
I will
listen to what God the LORD will say; for He will surely speak peace to His people and His saints; He will not let them return to folly.
Bow down thine ear, O LORD,
hear me: for I am poor and
needy.

needy.
Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
Hear my prayer, O LORD, and attend to my
plea for mercy.
Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth. Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.
I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my
heart: and I will
glorify thy name for
evermore.
I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my
heart; I will
glorify Your name
forever.
Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my
bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;
Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Your servants, which I bear in my heart from so many people—

So teach us to number our days, that we may present a heart of wisdom.
Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.
My eyes see the
downfall of my enemies; my ears
hear the
wailing of my wicked foes.
