And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went
onward in all their
journeys:
Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out through all the stages of their journey.
But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
If the cloud was not lifted, they would not set out until the day it was taken up.
For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
For the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel through all their journeys.
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your
posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a
journey afar off, yet he shall keep the
passover unto the LORD.
“Tell the Israelites: ‘When any one of you or your descendants is unclean because of a dead body, or is away on a
journey, he may still observe the
Passover to the LORD.
But the man that is clean, and is not in a
journey, and forbeareth to keep the
passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.
But if a man who is
ceremonially clean and is not on a
journey still fails to observe the
Passover, he must be cut off from his people, because he did not present the LORD’s offering at its appointed time. That man will bear the consequences of his sin.
And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents.
Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the Tent, the Israelites would set out, and wherever the cloud settled, there the Israelites would camp.
At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents.
At the LORD’s command the Israelites set out, and at the LORD’s command they camped. As long as the cloud remained over the tabernacle, they remained
encamped.
And when the cloud
tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and
journeyed not.
Even when the cloud
lingered over the tabernacle for many days, the Israelites kept the LORD’s charge and did not set out.
And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the LORD they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of the LORD they journeyed.
Sometimes the cloud remained over the tabernacle for only a few days, and they would camp at the LORD’s command and set out at the LORD’s command.
And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.
Sometimes the cloud remained only from evening until morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they would set out. Whether it was by day or by night, when the cloud was taken up, they would set out.
Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud
tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining
thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and
journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they
journeyed.
Whether the cloud
lingered for two days, a month, or longer, the Israelites camped and did not set out as long as the cloud remained over the tabernacle; but when it was lifted, they would set out.
At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

Then Moses said to Hobab, the son of Moses’ father-in-law Reuel the Midianite, “We are setting out for the place of which the LORD said: ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things to Israel.”
And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.

ahead of them for those three days to seek a resting place for them.
And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
Now a wind sent by the LORD came up, drove in
quail from the sea, and brought them near the camp, about two cubits above the surface of the ground, for a day’s
journey in every direction around the camp.

Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of
Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
Then they set out from Mount
Hor along the route to the Red Sea, in order to bypass the land of
Edom. But the people grew impatient on the
journey And they
journeyed from Oboth, and pitched at Ije-abarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the
sunrising.
They journeyed from Oboth and camped at Iye-abarim in the wilderness opposite Moab to the east.

journeys of the Israelites when they came out of the land of Egypt by their divisions under the
leadership of Moses and Aaron.
And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the LORD: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.
At the LORD’s command, Moses recorded the stages of their journey. These are the stages listed by their starting points:
And they departed from before
Pi-hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and went three days’

Turn you, and take your
journey, and go to the mount of the
Amorites, and unto all the places
nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the
vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the
Canaanites, and unto
Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.
Resume your
journey and go to the hill country of the
Amorites; go to all the
neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the hill country, in the foothills, in the Negev, and along the
seacoast to the land of the
Canaanites and to
Lebanon, as far as the great River Euphrates.
Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to
shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.
who went before you on the journey, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day, to seek out a place for you to camp and to show you the road to travel.
But as for you, turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.
But you are to turn back and head for the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea.”
Then we turned, and took our
journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spake unto me: and we compassed mount
Seir many days.
Then we turned back and headed for the wilderness by way of the Red Sea, as the LORD had
instructed me, and for many days we
wandered around Mount
Seir.
For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
Indeed, the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. The LORD your God has been with you these forty years, and you have lacked nothing.
Rise ye up, take your
journey, and pass over the river
Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of
Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and
contend with him in battle.

Arnon Valley. See, I have delivered into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of
Heshbon, and his land. Begin to take possession of it and
engage him in battle.
And the children of Israel took their
journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and

Eleazar his son succeeded him as priest.

journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I
sware unto their fathers to give unto them.

swore to their fathers to give them.”
Remember what the LORD thy God did unto
Miriam by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt.
Remember what the LORD your God did to
Miriam on the
journey after you came out of Egypt.
How he met thee by the way, and
smote the
hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou
wast faint and
weary; and he feared not God.
how they met you on your
journey when you were
tired and
weary, and they attacked all your stragglers; they had no fear of God.
And this is the cause why Joshua did
circumcise: All the people that came out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt.
Now this is why Joshua
circumcised them: All those who came out of Egypt—all the men of war—had died on the
journey in the wilderness after they had left Egypt.
Now all the people that came out were
circumcised: but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had not
circumcised.
Though all who had come out were
circumcised, none of those born in the wilderness on the
journey from Egypt had been
circumcised.
Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take
victuals with you for the
journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make ye a league with us.
So the elders and inhabitants of our land told us, ‘Take provisions for your journey; go to meet them and say to them: We are your servants. Please make a treaty with us.’
And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our
shoes are become old by reason of the very long
journey.
These wineskins were new when we filled them, but look, they are
cracked. And these clothes and
sandals are worn out from our very long
journey.”
And the children of Israel
journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were
Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjath-jearim.
So the Israelites set out and on the third day arrived at their cities—
Gibeon, Chephirah, Beeroth, and Kiriath-jearim.
For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of
bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:
For the LORD our God brought us and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, and performed these great signs before our eyes. He also protected us throughout our journey and among all the nations through which we traveled.
And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the
journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And
Deborah arose, and went with
Barak to Kedesh.
“I will certainly go with you,”
Deborah replied, “but the road you are taking will bring you no honor, because the LORD will be selling Sisera into the hand of a woman.” So
Deborah got up and went with
Barak to Kedesh,
And the man departed out of the city from Bethlehemjudah to
sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of

journeyed.

Micah’s house in the hill country of Ephraim.
And they said unto him, Ask counsel, we pray thee, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.
Then they said to him, “Please inquire of God to determine whether we will have a successful journey.”
And the priest said unto them, Go in peace: before the LORD is your way wherein ye go.
And the priest told them, “Go in peace. The LORD is watching over your journey.”
And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his
concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the
damsel’s father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you
tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end,
lodge here, that thine heart may be
merry; and to
morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.
When the man got up to depart with his
concubine and his servant, his father-in-law, the
girl’s father, said to him, “Look, the day is drawing to a close. Please
spend the night. See, the day is almost over.
Spend the night here, that your heart may be
merry. Then you can get up early
tomorrow for your
journey home.”

And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his
concubine was fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the
threshold.
In the morning, when her master got up and opened the doors of the house to go out on his
journey, there was his
concubine,
collapsed in the
doorway of the house, with her hands on the
threshold.
And the LORD sent thee on a
journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the
Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.

wiped them out.’

valiant men arose, and went all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Beth-shan, and came to
Jabesh, and burnt them there.
all their men of

journeyed all night, and
retrieved the bodies of Saul and his sons from the wall of Beth-shan. When they arrived at
Jabesh, they burned the bodies there.
In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of
cedar?
In all My
journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever asked any of the leaders I appointed to
shepherd My people Israel, ‘Why
haven’t you built Me a house of
cedar?’
And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Camest thou not from thy
journey? why then
didst thou not go down unto thine house?
And David was told, “Uriah did not go home.” “
Haven’t you just arrived from a
journey?” David asked Uriah. “Why didn’t you go home?”
And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was
disobedient unto the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD hath delivered him unto the lion, which hath
torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake unto him.
When the prophet who had brought him back from his
journey heard this, he said, “It is the man of God who disobeyed the command of the LORD. Therefore the LORD has delivered him to the lion, and it has
mauled him and killed him, according to the word that the LORD had spoken to him.”
And it came to pass at
noon, that
Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry
aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a
journey, or
peradventure he sleepeth, and must be
awaked.
At
noon Elijah began to
taunt them, saying, “
Shout louder, for he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or occupied, or on a
journey. Perhaps he is sleeping and must be
awakened!”
But he himself went a day’s
journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a
juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
while he himself traveled on a day’s
journey into the wilderness. He sat down under a
broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.”

So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of
Edom: and they
fetched a compass of seven days’
journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.
So the king of Israel, the king of Judah, and the king of
Edom set out, and after they had traveled a
roundabout route for seven days, they had no water for their army or for their animals.

Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?
In all My
journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever asked any of the leaders I appointed to
shepherd My people, ‘Why
haven’t you built Me a house of
cedar?’
Then Solomon came from his
journey to the high place that was at
