And every man’s
hallowed things shall be his:
whatsoever any man giveth the
priest, it shall be his.
Each man’s sacred gifts are his own, but whatever he gives to the priest will belong to the priest.”
Then shall the man bring his wife unto the
priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an
ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put
frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of
memorial, bringing iniquity to
remembrance.
then he is to bring his wife to the
priest. He must also bring for her an offering of a tenth of an
ephah of barley flour. He is not to pour oil over it or put
frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering for jealousy, an offering of
memorial as a reminder of iniquity.
And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD:
The priest is to bring the wife forward and have her stand before the LORD.
And the
priest shall take holy water in an
earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the
priest shall take, and put it into the water:
Then he is to take some holy water in a clay
jar and put some of the dust from the tabernacle floor into the water.
And the
priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering of
memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the
priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the
curse:
After the
priest has the woman stand before the LORD, he is to let down her hair and place in her hands the grain offering of
memorial, which is the grain offering for jealousy. The
priest is to hold the bitter water that brings a
curse.
And the
priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have
lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the
curse:
And he is to put the woman under oath and say to her, ‘If no other man has
slept with you and you have not gone
astray and become
defiled while under your husband’s authority, may you be
immune to this bitter water that brings a
curse.
Then the
priest shall charge the woman with an oath of
cursing, and the
priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a
curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD
doth make thy
thigh to
rot, and thy
belly to swell;
And the
priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall
blot them out with the bitter water:
And the
priest shall write these curses on a
scroll and wash them off into the bitter water.
Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman’s hand, and shall wave the offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar:
The priest shall take from her hand the grain offering for jealousy, wave it before the LORD, and bring it to the altar.
And the
priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the
memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water.
Then the
priest is to take a handful of the grain offering as a
memorial portion and burn it on the altar; after that he is to have the woman drink the water.
Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be
jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the
priest shall
execute upon her all this law.
or when a feeling of jealousy comes over a husband and he suspects his wife. He is to have the woman stand before the LORD, and the priest is to apply to her this entire law.
And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:
On the eighth day he must bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
And the
priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an
atonement for him, for that he
sinned by the dead, and shall
hallow his head that same day.
And the
priest is to offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to make
atonement for him, because he has
sinned by being in the presence of the dead body. On that day he must
consecrate his head again.
And the priest shall bring them before the LORD, and shall offer his sin offering, and his burnt offering:
The priest is to present all these before the LORD and make the sin offering and the burnt offering.
And he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, with the
basket of
unleavened bread: the
priest shall offer also his meat offering, and his drink offering.
He shall also offer the ram as a peace offering to the LORD, along with the
basket of
unleavened bread. And the
priest is to offer the accompanying grain offering and drink offering.
And the
priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: this is holy for the
priest, with the wave breast and
heave shoulder: and after that the
Nazarite may drink wine.
The
priest shall then wave them as a wave offering before the LORD. This is a holy portion for the
priest, in addition to the breast of the wave offering and the
thigh that was presented. After that, the
Nazirite may drink wine.
And four wagons and eight oxen he gave unto the sons of Merari, according unto their service, under the hand of
Ithamar the son of Aaron the
priest.
and he gave the Merarites four carts and eight oxen, as their service required, all under the direction of
Ithamar son of Aaron the
priest.
And the sons of Aaron, the
priests, shall blow with the
trumpets; and they shall be to you for an
ordinance for ever throughout your generations.
The sons of Aaron, the
priests, are to sound the
trumpets. This shall be a permanent statute for you and the generations to come.
And the
priest shall make an
atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be
forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD, for their ignorance:
The
priest is to make
atonement for the whole congregation of Israel, so that they may be
forgiven; for the sin was
unintentional and they have brought to the LORD an offering made by fire and a sin offering, presented before the LORD for their
unintentional sin.
And the
priest shall make an
atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an
atonement for him; and it shall be
forgiven him.
And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?
He has brought you near, you and all your fellow Levites, but you are seeking the priesthood as well.
Speak unto
Eleazar the son of Aaron the
priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and
scatter thou the fire
yonder; for they are
hallowed.
“Tell
Eleazar son of Aaron the
priest to remove the censers from the flames and to
scatter the coals far away, because the censers are holy.
And
Eleazar the
priest took the
brasen censers,
wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar:
So
Eleazar the
priest took the bronze censers brought by those who had been burned up, and he had them hammered out to overlay the altar,
And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father’s house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
So the LORD said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father’s house must bear the iniquity involving the sanctuary. And you and your sons alone must bear the iniquity involving your priesthood.
Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your
priest’s office for every thing of the altar, and within the
vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your
priest’s office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
But only you and your sons shall attend to your
priesthood for everything concerning the altar and what is inside the
veil, and you are to perform that service. I am giving you the work of the
priesthood as a gift, but any outsider who comes near the sanctuary must be put to death.”
Thus ye also shall offer an
heave offering unto the LORD of all your
tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD’S
heave offering to Aaron the
priest.
So you are to present an offering to the LORD from all the
tithes you receive from the Israelites, and from these you are to give the LORD’s offering to Aaron the
priest.
And ye shall give her unto
Eleazar the
priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall
slay her before his face:
Give it to
Eleazar the
priest, and he will have it brought outside the camp and slaughtered in his presence.
And
Eleazar the
priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and
sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:
Eleazar the
priest is to take some of its blood on his finger and
sprinkle it seven times toward the front of the Tent of Meeting.
And the
priest shall take
cedar wood, and
hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the
heifer.
Then the
priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall
bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the
priest shall be unclean until the even.
Then the
priest must wash his clothes and
bathe his body in water; after that he may enter the camp, but he will be
ceremonially unclean until evening.
And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon
Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.
Remove Aaron’s
priestly garments and put them on his son
Eleazar. Aaron will be gathered to his people and will die there.”
And when
Phinehas, the son of
Eleazar, the son of Aaron the
priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a
javelin in his hand;
On seeing this,
Phinehas son of
Eleazar, the son of Aaron the
priest, got up from the assembly, took a
spear in his hand,
Phinehas, the son of
Eleazar, the son of Aaron the
priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was
zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
“
Phinehas son of
Eleazar, the son of Aaron the
priest, has turned My wrath away from the Israelites; for he was
zealous for My sake among them, so that I did not
consume the Israelites in My zeal.
And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an
everlasting priesthood; because he was
zealous for his God, and made an
atonement for the children of Israel.
It will be a covenant of permanent
priesthood for him and his descendants, because he was
zealous for his God and made
atonement for the Israelites.”
And it came to pass after the plague, that the LORD spake unto Moses and unto
Eleazar the son of Aaron the
priest, saying,
After the plague had ended, the LORD said to Moses and
Eleazar son of Aaron the
priest,
And Moses and
Eleazar the
priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by Jordan near
Jericho, saying,
So on the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from
Jericho, Moses and
Eleazar the
priest issued the instruction,
These are they that were numbered by Moses and
Eleazar the
priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near
Jericho.
These were the ones numbered by Moses and
Eleazar the
priest when they counted the Israelites on the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from
Jericho.
But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the
priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of
Sinai.
Among all these, however, there was not one who had been numbered by Moses and Aaron the
priest when they counted the Israelites in the Wilderness of
Sinai.
And they stood before Moses, and before
Eleazar the
priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, stood before Moses,
Eleazar the
priest, the leaders, and the whole congregation, and said,
And set him before
Eleazar the
priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.
Have him stand before
Eleazar the
priest and the whole congregation, and commission him in their sight.
And he shall stand before
Eleazar the
priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of
Urim before the LORD: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.
He shall stand before
Eleazar the
priest, who will seek counsel for him before the LORD by the judgment of the
Urim. At his command, he and all the Israelites with him—the entire congregation—will go out and come in.”
And Moses did as the LORD commanded him: and he took Joshua, and set him before
Eleazar the
priest, and before all the congregation:
Moses did as the LORD had commanded him. He took Joshua, had him stand before
Eleazar the
priest and the whole congregation,
And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and
Phinehas the son of
Eleazar the
priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the
trumpets to blow in his hand.
And Moses sent the thousand from each tribe into battle, along with
Phinehas son of
Eleazar the
priest, who took with him the vessels of the sanctuary and the
trumpets for signaling.
And they brought the
captives, and the prey, and the
spoil, unto Moses, and
Eleazar the
priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near
Jericho.
They brought the
captives, spoils, and
plunder to Moses, to
Eleazar the
priest, and to the congregation of Israel at the camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from
Jericho.
And Moses, and
Eleazar the
priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.
And Moses,
Eleazar the
priest, and all the leaders of the congregation went to meet them outside the camp.
And
Eleazar the
priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the
ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;
Then
Eleazar the
priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, “This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded Moses:
Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and
Eleazar the
priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:
“You and
Eleazar the
priest and the family heads of the congregation are to take a count of what was captured, both of man and beast.
Take it of their half, and give it unto
Eleazar the
priest, for an
heave offering of the LORD.
Take it from their half and give it to
Eleazar the
priest as an offering to the LORD.
And Moses and
Eleazar the
priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
So Moses and
Eleazar the
priest did as the LORD had commanded Moses,
And Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD’S
heave offering, unto
Eleazar the
priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.
Moses gave the tribute to
Eleazar the
priest as an offering for the LORD, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And Moses and
Eleazar the
priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels.
So Moses and
Eleazar the
priest received from them all the articles made out of gold.
And Moses and
Eleazar the
priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a
memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
And Moses and
Eleazar the
priest received the gold from the commanders of thousands and of hundreds and brought it into the Tent of Meeting as a
memorial for the Israelites before the LORD.
The children of
Gad and the children of
Reuben came and spake unto Moses, and to
Eleazar the
priest, and unto the princes of the congregation, saying,
So the Gadites and Reubenites came to Moses,
Eleazar the
priest, and the leaders of the congregation, and said,
So concerning them Moses commanded
Eleazar the
priest, and Joshua the son of
Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:
So Moses gave orders about them to
Eleazar the
priest, to Joshua son of
Nun, and to the family leaders of the tribes of Israel.
And Aaron the
priest went up into mount
Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the
fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.
At the LORD’s command, Aaron the
priest climbed Mount
Hor and died there on the first day of the fifth month, in the
fortieth year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt.
These are the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you:
Eleazar the
priest, and Joshua the son of
Nun.
“These are the names of the men who are to
assign the land as an inheritance for you:
Eleazar the
priest and Joshua son of
Nun.
And the congregation shall deliver the
slayer out of the hand of the
revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge,
whither he was fled: and he shall
abide in it unto the death of the high
priest, which was
anointed with the holy oil.
The assembly is to protect the
manslayer from the hand of the
avenger of blood. Then the assembly will return him to the city of refuge to which he fled, and he must live there until the death of the high
priest, who was
anointed with the holy oil.
Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high
priest: but after the death of the high
priest the
slayer shall return into the land of his possession.
because the
manslayer must remain in his city of refuge until the death of the high
priest. Only after the death of the high
priest may he return to the land he owns.
And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.
Nor should you accept a
ransom for the person who flees to a city of refuge and allow him to return and live on his own land before the death of the high
priest.
And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and
Eleazar his son ministered in the
priest’s office in his
stead.
The Israelites traveled from Beeroth
Bene-jaakan to Moserah, where Aaron died and was buried, and
Eleazar his son succeeded him as
priest.
And thou shalt come unto the
priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and
enquire; and they shall
shew thee the sentence of judgment:
You are to go to the
Levitical priests and to the judge who presides at that time. Inquire of them, and they will give you a
verdict in the case.
And the man that will do
presumptuously, and will not
hearken unto the
priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.
But the man who acts
presumptuously, refusing to
listen either to the
priest who stands there to serve the LORD your God, or to the judge, must be put to death. You must
purge the evil from Israel.
And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
When he is seated on his royal throne, he must write for himself a copy of this instruction on a
scroll in the presence of the
Levitical priests.
The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.
The
Levitical priests—indeed the whole tribe of Levi—shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel. They are to eat the offerings made by fire to the LORD; that is their inheritance.
And this shall be the
priest’s due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep; and they shall give unto the
priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the
maw.
This shall be the priests’ share from the people who offer a sacrifice, whether a bull or a sheep: the priests are to be given the shoulder, the jowls, and the stomach.
Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;
both parties to the dispute must stand in the presence of the LORD, before the priests and judges who are in office at that time.
And it shall be, when ye are come
nigh unto the battle, that the
priest shall approach and speak unto the people,
When you are about to go into battle, the priest is to come forward and address the army,
And the
priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to
bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried:
And the
priests, the sons of Levi, shall come forward, for the LORD your God has chosen them to serve Him and
pronounce blessings in His name and to give a ruling in every dispute and case of
assault.
Take
heed in the plague of
leprosy, that thou observe
diligently, and do according to all that the
priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.
And thou shalt go unto the
priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I
profess this day unto the LORD thy God, that I am come unto the country which the LORD
sware unto our fathers for to give us.
to the
priest who is serving at that time, and say to him, “I declare
today to the LORD your God that I have entered the land that the LORD
swore to our fathers to give us.”
And the
priest shall take the
basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God.
Then the
priest shall take the
basket from your hands and place it before the altar of the LORD your God,
And Moses and the
priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take
heed, and
hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God.
Then Moses and the
Levitical priests spoke to all Israel: “Be silent, O Israel, and
listen! This day you have become the people of the LORD your God.
And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and unto all the elders of Israel.
So Moses wrote down this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.
And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.
and commanded the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God being carried by the
Levitical priests, you are to set out from your positions and follow it.
And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
And he said to the
priests, “Take the ark of the covenant and go on
ahead of the people.” So they carried the ark of the covenant and went
ahead of them.
And thou shalt command the
priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the
brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.
Command the priests carrying the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the waters, stand in the Jordan.’”
And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the
priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an
heap.
When the feet of the
priests who carry the ark of the LORD—the Lord of all the earth—touch down in the waters of the Jordan, its flowing waters will be cut off and will stand up in a
heap.”
And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people;
So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the
priests carried the ark of the covenant
ahead of them.
And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the
priests that bare the ark were
dipped in the
brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
Now the Jordan overflows its banks throughout the harvest season. But as soon as the priests carrying the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge,
And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
The priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, while all Israel crossed over the dry ground, until the entire nation had crossed the Jordan.
And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the
priests’ feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the
lodging place, where ye shall
lodge this night.
and command them: ‘Take up for
yourselves twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan where the
priests were standing, carry them with you, and set them down in the place where you
spend the night.’”
And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.
Joshua also set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, in the place where the priests who carried the ark of the covenant stood. And the stones are there to this day.
For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until every thing was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.
Now the
priests who carried the ark remained standing in the middle of the Jordan until the people had completed everything the LORD had commanded Joshua to tell them, just as Moses had directed Joshua. The people
hurried across,
And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people.
and after
everyone had finished crossing, the
priests with the ark of the LORD crossed in the sight of the people.
Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan.
“Command the priests who carry the ark of the Testimony to come up from the Jordan.”
Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of Jordan.
So Joshua commanded the priests, “Come up from the Jordan.”
And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests’ feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.
When the priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD came up out of the Jordan and their feet touched the dry land, the waters of the Jordan returned to their course and overflowed all the banks as before.
And seven
priests shall bear before the ark seven
trumpets of rams horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the
priests shall blow with the
trumpets.
Have seven priests carry seven rams’ horns in front of the ark. Then on the seventh day, march around the city seven times, while the priests blow the horns.
And Joshua the son of
Nun called the
priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven
priests bear seven
trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD.
So Joshua son of
Nun summoned the
priests and said, “Take up the ark of the covenant and have seven
priests carry seven rams’ horns in front of the ark of the LORD.”
And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven
priests bearing the seven
trumpets of rams’ horns passed on before the LORD, and
blew with the
trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
After Joshua had spoken to the people, seven
priests carrying seven rams’ horns before the LORD advanced and
blew the horns, and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
And the armed men went before the
priests that
blew with the
trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the
priests going on, and blowing with the
trumpets.
While the horns continued to sound, the armed troops marched
ahead of the
priests who
blew the horns, and the rear guard followed the ark.
And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
Joshua got up early the next morning, and the priests took the ark of the LORD.
And seven
priests bearing seven
trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and
blew with the
trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the
priests going on, and blowing with the
trumpets.
And the seven
priests carrying seven rams’ horns kept marching
ahead of the ark of the LORD and blowing the horns. The armed troops went in front of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the LORD, while the horns kept sounding.
And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the
priests blew with the
trumpets, Joshua said unto the people,
Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
After the seventh time around, the
priests blew the horns, and Joshua commanded the people, “
Shout! For the LORD has given you the city!
So the people
shouted when the
priests blew with the
trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the
trumpet, and the people
shouted with a great
shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
So when the rams’ horns sounded, the people
shouted. When they heard the blast of the horn, the people gave a great
shout, and the wall
collapsed. Then all the people charged straight into the city and captured it.
And all Israel, and their elders, and officers, and their judges, stood on this side the ark and on that side before the
priests the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, as well the stranger, as he that was born among them; half of them over against mount
Gerizim, and half of them over against mount
Ebal; as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should
bless the people of Israel.
All Israel, foreigners and citizens alike, with their elders, officers, and judges, stood on both sides of the ark of the covenant of the LORD facing the
Levitical priests who carried it. Half of the people stood in front of Mount
Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount
Ebal, as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded earlier, to
bless the people of Israel.
And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of
Canaan, which
Eleazar the
priest, and Joshua the son of
Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.
Now these are the portions that the Israelites inherited in the land of
Canaan, as distributed by
Eleazar the
priest, Joshua son of
Nun, and the heads of the families of the tribes of Israel.
And they came near before
Eleazar the
priest, and before Joshua the son of
Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
They approached
Eleazar the
priest, Joshua son of
Nun, and the leaders, and said, “The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers.” So Joshua gave them an inheritance among their father’s brothers, in keeping with the command of the LORD.
But the Levites have no part among you; for the
priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and
Gad, and
Reuben, and half the tribe of
Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.
The Levites, however, have no portion among you, because their inheritance is the
priesthood of the LORD. And
Gad,
Reuben, and half the tribe of
Manasseh have already received the inheritance that Moses the servant of the LORD gave them beyond the Jordan to the east.”
