Melchizedek king of
Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the
priest of the most high God.
Then
Melchizedek king of
Salem brought out bread and wine—since he was
priest of God Most High—
And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnath-paaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of
Poti-pherah
priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.
Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-paneah, and he gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, to be his wife. And Joseph took charge of all the land of Egypt.
And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of
Poti-pherah
priest of On bare unto him.
Before the years of famine arrived, two sons were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On.
And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born
Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of
Poti-pherah
priest of On bare unto him.
Manasseh and Ephraim were born to Joseph in the land of Egypt by Asenath daughter of Potiphera,
priest of On.
Only the land of the priests bought he not; for the priests had a portion assigned them of Pharaoh, and did eat their portion which Pharaoh gave them: wherefore they sold not their lands.
However, he did not acquire the
priests’ portion of the land, for it had been given to them by Pharaoh. They
ate the rations that Pharaoh supplied; so they did not sell their land.
And Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth part; except the land of the priests only, which became not Pharaoh’s.
So Joseph established a law that a fifth of the produce belongs to Pharaoh, and it is in effect in the land of Egypt to this day. Only the priests’ land does not belong to Pharaoh.
Now the
priest of
Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.
Now the
priest of
Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father’s flock.
Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the
priest of
Midian: and he led the flock to the
backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to
Horeb.
Meanwhile, Moses was
shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the
priest of
Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to
Horeb, the mountain of God.
When Jethro, the
priest of
Midian, Moses’ father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
Now Moses’ father-in-law Jethro, the
priest of
Midian, heard about all that God had done for Moses and His people Israel, and how the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt.
And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
And unto Me you shall be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you are to speak to the Israelites.”
And let the
priests also, which come near to the LORD,
sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.
Even the
priests who approach the LORD must
consecrate themselves, or the LORD will break out against them.”
And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.
And the LORD replied, “Go down and bring Aaron with you. But the priests and the people must not break through to come up to the LORD, or He will break out against them.”
And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the
priest’s office, even Aaron,
Nadab and
Abihu,
Eleazar and
Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.
“Next, have your brother Aaron brought to you from among the Israelites, along with his sons
Nadab,
Abihu,
Eleazar, and
Ithamar, to serve Me as
priests.
And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to
consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the
priest’s office.
You are to
instruct all the skilled
craftsmen, whom I have filled with a spirit of wisdom, to make garments for Aaron’s
consecration, so that he may serve Me as
priest.
And these are the garments which they shall make; a
breastplate, and an
ephod, and a
robe, and a
broidered coat, a
mitre, and a
girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the
priest’s office.
These are the garments that they shall make: a breastpiece, an
ephod, a
robe, a
woven tunic, a
turban, and a
sash. They are to make these holy garments for your brother Aaron and his sons, so that they may serve Me as
priests.
And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt
anoint them, and
consecrate them, and
sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the
priest’s office.
After you put these garments on your brother Aaron and his sons,
anoint them,
ordain them, and
consecrate them so that they may serve Me as
priests.
And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to
hallow them, to minister unto me in the
priest’s office: Take one young
bullock, and two rams without
blemish,
“Now this is what you are to do to
consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve Me as
priests: Take a young bull and two rams without
blemish,
And thou shalt
gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and put the bonnets on them: and the
priest’s office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute: and thou shalt
consecrate Aaron and his sons.
Wrap the sashes around Aaron and his sons and
tie headbands on them. The
priesthood shall be theirs by a permanent statute. In this way you are to
ordain Aaron and his sons.
And that son that is
priest in his
stead shall put them on seven days, when he cometh into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the holy place.
The son who succeeds him as priest and enters the Tent of Meeting to minister in the Holy Place must wear them for seven days.
And I will
sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will
sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the
priest’s office.
So I will
consecrate the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and I will
consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve Me as
priests.
And thou shalt
anoint Aaron and his sons, and
consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the
priest’s office.
And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest’s office,
as well as the
woven garments, both the holy garments for Aaron the
priest and the garments for his sons to serve as
priests,
The cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest’s office.
and the
woven garments for ministering in the holy place—both the holy garments for Aaron the
priest and the garments for his sons to serve as
priests.”
This is the sum of the tabernacle, even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of
Ithamar, son to Aaron the
priest.
This is the
inventory for the tabernacle, the tabernacle of the Testimony, as recorded at Moses’ command by the Levites under the direction of
Ithamar son of Aaron the
priest.
The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons’ garments, to minister in the priest’s office.
and the
woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary, both the holy garments for Aaron the
priest and the garments for his sons to serve as
priests.
And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and
anoint him, and
sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the
priest’s office.
And you are to
clothe Aaron with the holy garments,
anoint him, and
consecrate him, so that he may serve Me as a
priest.
And thou shalt
anoint them, as thou
didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the
priest’s office: for their
anointing shall surely be an
everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.
Anoint them just as you
anointed their father, so that they may also serve Me as
priests. Their
anointing will
qualify them for a permanent
priesthood throughout their generations.”
And he shall kill the
bullock before the LORD: and the
priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood, and
sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
And he shall slaughter the young bull before the LORD, and Aaron’s sons the
priests are to present the blood and
sprinkle it on all sides of the altar at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire:
The sons of Aaron the priest shall put a fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.
And the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
Then Aaron’s sons the
priests are to arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat,
atop the burning wood on the altar.
But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
The
entrails and legs must be washed with water, and the
priest shall burn all of it on the altar as a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the LORD: and the
priests, Aaron’s sons, shall
sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar.
He shall slaughter it on the north side of the altar before the LORD, and Aaron’s sons the
priests are to
sprinkle its blood against the altar on all sides.
And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
He is to cut the animal into pieces, and the
priest shall arrange them, including the head and fat,
atop the burning wood that is on the altar.
But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
The
entrails and legs must be washed with water, and the
priest shall bring all of it and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And the
priest shall bring it unto the altar, and
wring off his head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be
wrung out at the side of the altar:
Then the priest shall bring it to the altar, twist off its head, and burn it on the altar; its blood should be drained out on the side of the altar.
And he shall
cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it
asunder: and the
priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
He shall
tear it open by its wings, without dividing the bird completely. And the
priest is to burn it on the altar
atop the burning wood. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the
priests: and he shall take
thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the
frankincense thereof; and the
priest shall burn the
memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD:
and bring it to Aaron’s sons the
priests. The
priest shall take a handful of the flour and oil, together with all the
frankincense, and burn this as a
memorial portion on the altar, an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the LORD: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar.
When you bring to the LORD the grain offering made in any of these ways, it is to be presented to the priest, and he shall take it to the altar.
And the
priest shall take from the meat offering a
memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
The
priest is to remove the
memorial portion from the grain offering and burn it on the altar as an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And the
priest shall burn the
memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the
frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
The
priest shall then burn the
memorial portion of the
crushed grain and the oil, together with all its
frankincense, as an offering made by fire to the LORD.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron’s sons the
priests shall
sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
He is to lay his hand on the head of the offering and slaughter it at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron’s sons the
priests shall
sprinkle the blood on all sides of the altar.
And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Then the priest is to burn them on the altar as food, an offering made by fire to the LORD.
And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the LORD’S.
Then the
priest is to burn the food on the altar as an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma. All the fat is the LORD’s.
If the
priest that is
anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath
sinned, a young
bullock without
blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering.
If the
anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he must bring to the LORD a young bull without
blemish as a sin offering for the sin he has committed.
And the
priest that is
anointed shall take of the
bullock’s blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:
Then the
anointed priest shall take some of the bull’s blood and bring it into the Tent of Meeting.
And the
priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and
sprinkle of the blood seven times before the LORD, before the
vail of the sanctuary.
The
priest is to dip his finger in the blood and
sprinkle some of it seven times before the LORD, in front of the
veil of the sanctuary.
And the
priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the LORD, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation: and shall pour all the blood of the
bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
The
priest must then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of
fragrant incense that is before the LORD in the Tent of Meeting. And he is to pour out the rest of the bull’s blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
As it was taken off from the
bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the
priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering.
just as the fat is removed from the ox of the peace offering. Then the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.
And the
priest that is
anointed shall bring of the
bullock’s blood to the tabernacle of the congregation:
Then the
anointed priest is to bring some of the bull’s blood into the Tent of Meeting,
And the
priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood, and
sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, even before the
vail.
and he is to dip his finger in the blood and
sprinkle it seven times before the LORD in front of the
veil.
And he shall do with the
bullock as he did with the
bullock for a sin offering, so shall he do with this: and the
priest shall make an
atonement for them, and it shall be
forgiven them.
He shall offer this bull just as he did the bull for the sin offering; in this way the
priest will make
atonement on their behalf, and they will be
forgiven.
And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out his blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering.
Then the priest is to take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
And he shall burn all his fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the
priest shall make an
atonement for him as concerning his sin, and it shall be
forgiven him.
He must burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the peace offerings; thus the
priest will make
atonement for that man’s sin, and he will be
forgiven.
And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar.
Then the priest is to take some of its blood with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the
priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the LORD; and the
priest shall make an
atonement for him, and it shall be
forgiven him.
Then he is to remove all the fat, just as it is removed from the peace offering, and the
priest is to burn it on the altar as a pleasing
aroma to the LORD. In this way the
priest will make
atonement for him, and he will be
forgiven.
And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar:
Then the priest is to take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar.
And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the
priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: and the
priest shall make an
atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be
forgiven him.
And he shall remove all the fat, just as the fat of the lamb is removed from the peace offerings, and he shall burn it on the altar along with the offerings made by fire to the LORD. In this way the
priest will make
atonement for him for the sin he has committed, and he will be
forgiven.
And he shall bring his
trespass offering unto the LORD for his sin which he hath
sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a
kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the
priest shall make an
atonement for him concerning his sin.
and he must bring his guilt offering to the LORD for the sin he has committed: a female lamb or goat from the flock as a sin offering. And the
priest will make
atonement for him concerning his sin.
And he shall bring them unto the
priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin offering first, and
wring off his head from his neck, but shall not divide it
asunder:
He is to bring them to the priest, who shall first present the one for the sin offering. He is to twist its head at the front of its neck without severing it;
And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the manner: and the
priest shall make an
atonement for him for his sin which he hath
sinned, and it shall be
forgiven him.
And the
priest must prepare the second bird as a burnt offering according to the
ordinance. In this way the
priest will make
atonement for him for the sin he has committed, and he will be
forgiven.
Then shall he bring it to the
priest, and the
priest shall take his handful of it, even a
memorial thereof, and burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: it is a sin offering.
He is to bring it to the
priest, who shall take a handful from it as a
memorial portion and burn it on the altar
atop the offerings made by fire to the LORD; it is a sin offering.
And the
priest shall make an
atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath
sinned in one of these, and it shall be
forgiven him: and the
remnant shall be the
priest’s, as a meat offering.
In this way the
priest will make
atonement for him for any of these sins he has committed, and he will be
forgiven. The remainder will belong to the
priest, like the grain offering.”
And he shall make
amends for the
harm that he hath done in the holy thing, and shall add the fifth part
thereto, and give it unto the
priest: and the
priest shall make an
atonement for him with the ram of the
trespass offering, and it shall be
forgiven him.
Regarding any holy thing he has
harmed, he must make
restitution by adding a fifth of its value to it and giving it to the
priest, who will make
atonement on his behalf with the ram as a guilt offering, and he will be
forgiven.
And he shall bring a ram without
blemish out of the flock, with thy
estimation, for a
trespass offering, unto the
priest: and the
priest shall make an
atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he
erred and
wist it not, and it shall be
forgiven him.
He is to bring to the
priest an
unblemished ram of proper value from the flock as a guilt offering. Then the
priest will make
atonement on his behalf for the wrong he has committed in ignorance, and he will be
forgiven.
Then he must bring to the
priest his guilt offering to the LORD: an
unblemished ram of proper value from the flock.
And the
priest shall make an
atonement for him before the LORD: and it shall be
forgiven him for any thing of all that he hath done in
trespassing therein.
In this way the
priest will make
atonement for him before the LORD, and he will be
forgiven for anything he may have done to
incur guilt.”
And the
priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen
breeches shall he put upon his flesh, and take up the ashes which the fire hath consumed with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.
And the
priest shall put on his linen
robe and linen undergarments, and he shall remove from the altar the ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed and place them beside it.
And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the
priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn
thereon the fat of the peace offerings.
The fire on the altar shall be kept burning; it must not be
extinguished. Every morning the
priest is to add wood to the fire, arrange the burnt offering on it, and burn the fat portions of the peace offerings on it.
And he shall take of it his handful, of the flour of the meat offering, and of the oil thereof, and all the
frankincense which is upon the meat offering, and shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour, even the
memorial of it, unto the LORD.
The
priest is to remove a handful of fine flour and olive oil, together with all the
frankincense from the grain offering, and burn the
memorial portion on the altar as a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And the
priest of his sons that is
anointed in his
stead shall offer it: it is a statute for ever unto the LORD, it shall be wholly burnt.
The
priest, who is one of Aaron’s sons and will be
anointed to take his place, is to prepare it. As a permanent portion for the LORD, it must be burned completely.
For every meat offering for the priest shall be wholly burnt: it shall not be eaten.
Every grain offering for a priest shall be burned completely; it is not to be eaten.”
The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it: in the holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation.
The
priest who offers it shall eat it; it must be eaten in a holy place, in the
courtyard of the Tent of Meeting.
All the males among the priests shall eat thereof: it is most holy.
Any male among the priests may eat it; it is most holy.
In the place where they kill the burnt offering shall they kill the
trespass offering: and the blood thereof shall he
sprinkle round about upon the altar.
The guilt offering must be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, and the
priest shall
sprinkle its blood on all sides of the altar.
And the
priest shall burn them upon the altar for an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a
trespass offering.
The priest shall burn them on the altar as an offering made by fire to the LORD; it is a guilt offering.
Every male among the priests shall eat thereof: it shall be eaten in the holy place: it is most holy.
Every male among the priests may eat of it. It must be eaten in a holy place; it is most holy.
As the sin offering is, so is the
trespass offering: there is one law for them: the
priest that maketh
atonement therewith shall have it.
The guilt offering is like the sin offering; the same law applies to both. It belongs to the
priest who makes
atonement with it.
And the priest that offereth any man’s burnt offering, even the priest shall have to himself the skin of the burnt offering which he hath offered.
As for the
priest who presents a burnt offering for
anyone, the hide of that offering belongs to him.
And all the meat offering that is
baken in the
oven, and all that is dressed in the
fryingpan, and in the pan, shall be the
priest’s that offereth it.
Likewise, every grain offering that is
baked in an
oven or
cooked in a pan or on a
griddle belongs to the
priest who presents it,
And of it he shall offer one out of the whole
oblation for an
heave offering unto the LORD, and it shall be the
priest’s that sprinkleth the blood of the peace offerings.
From the cakes he must present one portion of each offering as a contribution to the LORD. It belongs to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering.
And the priest shall burn the fat upon the altar: but the breast shall be Aaron’s and his sons’.
The priest is to burn the fat on the altar, but the breast belongs to Aaron and his sons.
And the right shoulder shall ye give unto the
priest for an
heave offering of the sacrifices of your peace offerings.
And you are to give the right
thigh to the
priest as a contribution from your peace offering.
For the wave breast and the
heave shoulder have I taken of the children of Israel from off the sacrifices of their peace offerings, and have given them unto Aaron the
priest and unto his sons by a statute for ever from among the children of Israel.
I have taken from the sons of Israel the breast of the wave offering and the
thigh of the contribution of their peace offerings, and I have given them to Aaron the
priest and his sons as a permanent portion from the sons of Israel.’”
This is the portion of the
anointing of Aaron, and of the
anointing of his sons, out of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, in the day when he presented them to minister unto the LORD in the
priest’s office;
This is the portion of the offerings made by fire to the LORD for Aaron and his sons since the day they were presented to serve the LORD as priests.
And when the days of her
purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young
pigeon, or a
turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the
priest:
When the days of her
purification are complete, whether for a son or for a daughter, she is to bring to the
priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting a year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young
pigeon or a
turtledove for a sin offering.
Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an
atonement for her; and she shall be
cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.
And the
priest will present them before the LORD and make
atonement for her; and she shall be
ceremonially cleansed from her flow of blood. This is the law for a woman giving birth, whether to a male or to a female.
And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the
priest shall make an
atonement for her, and she shall be clean.
But if she cannot afford a lamb, she shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. Then the
priest will make
atonement for her, and she will be clean.’”
When a man shall have in the skin of his flesh a rising, a
scab, or a bright spot, and it be in the skin of his flesh like the plague of
leprosy; then he shall be brought unto Aaron the
priest, or unto one of his sons the
priests:
“When someone has a swelling or
rash or bright spot on his skin that could become an
infectious skin disease, he must be brought to Aaron the
priest or to one of his sons who is a
priest.
And the
priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of
leprosy: and the
priest shall look on him, and
pronounce him unclean.
The
priest is to examine the
infection on his skin, and if the hair in the
infection has turned white and the
sore appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a skin disease. After the
priest examines him, he must
pronounce him unclean.
If the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days:
If, however, the spot on his skin is white and does not appear to be deeper than the skin, and the hair in it has not turned white, the
priest shall
isolate the
infected person for seven days.
And the priest shall look on him the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague in his sight be at a stay, and the plague spread not in the skin; then the priest shall shut him up seven days more:
On the seventh day the
priest is to reexamine him, and if he sees that the
infection is unchanged and has not spread on the skin, the
priest must
isolate him for another seven days.
And the
priest shall look on him again the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the
priest shall
pronounce him clean: it is but a
scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.
The
priest will examine him again on the seventh day, and if the
sore has
faded and has not spread on the skin, the
priest shall
pronounce him clean; it is a
rash. The person must wash his clothes and be clean.
But if the
scab spread much abroad in the skin, after that he hath been seen of the
priest for his
cleansing, he shall be seen of the
priest again:
But if the
rash spreads further on his skin after he has shown himself to the
priest for his
cleansing, he must present himself again to the
priest.
And if the
priest see that, behold, the
scab spreadeth in the skin, then the
priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a
leprosy.
The
priest will reexamine him, and if the
rash has spread on the skin, the
priest must
pronounce him unclean; he has a skin disease.
When the plague of
leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought unto the
priest;
When
anyone develops a skin disease, he must be brought to the
priest.
And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the rising be white in the skin, and it have turned the hair white, and there be quick raw flesh in the rising;
The priest will examine him, and if there is a white swelling on the skin that has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the swelling,
It is an old
leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the
priest shall
pronounce him unclean, and shall not shut him up: for he is unclean.
it is a
chronic skin disease and the
priest must
pronounce him unclean. He need not
isolate him, for he is unclean.
And if a
leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the
leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague from his head even to his foot,
wheresoever the
priest looketh;
But if the skin disease breaks out all over his skin so that it covers all the skin of the
infected person from head to foot, as far as the
priest can see,
Then the
priest shall consider: and, behold, if the
leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall
pronounce him clean that hath the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean.
the
priest shall examine him, and if the disease has covered his entire body, he is to
pronounce the
infected person clean. Since it has all turned white, he is clean.
And the
priest shall see the raw flesh, and
pronounce him to be unclean: for the raw flesh is unclean: it is a
leprosy.
When the
priest sees the raw flesh, he must
pronounce him unclean. The raw flesh is unclean; it is a skin disease.
