And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will
teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of
Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And many peoples will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will
teach us His ways so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from
Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.
The head is the elder and honorable man, and the tail is the prophet who teaches lies.
Whom shall he
teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are
weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
Whom is He trying to
teach? To whom is He explaining His message? To infants just
weaned from milk? To
babies removed from the breast?
For his God instructs and teaches him properly.
And though the Lord give you the bread of
adversity, and the water of
affliction, yet shall not thy
teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy
teachers:
The Lord will give you the bread of
adversity and the water of
affliction, but your
Teacher will no longer hide Himself—with your own eyes you will see Him.
Thus saith the LORD, thy
Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which
teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
Thus says the LORD your
Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who
teaches you for your benefit, who directs you in the way you should go.
Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and
teach your daughters
wailing, and every one her neighbour
lamentation.
Now, O women, hear the word of the LORD. Open your ears to the word of His mouth.
Teach your daughters to
wail, and one another to
lament.
And they shall
teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will
forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
No longer will each man
teach his
neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will
forgive their
iniquities and will remember their sins no more.”
And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and
teaching them, yet they have not
hearkened to receive instruction.
They have turned their backs to Me and not their faces. Though I taught them again and again, they would not
listen or
respond to discipline.
And they shall
teach my people the difference between the holy and
profane, and cause them to
discern between the unclean and the clean.
They are to
teach My people the difference between the holy and the common, and show them how to
discern between the clean and the unclean.
Children in whom was no
blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and
cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might
teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
young men without
blemish, handsome, gifted in all wisdom, knowledgeable, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace—and to
teach them the language and literature of the Chaldeans.
The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof
teach for
hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they
lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.
Her leaders judge for a
bribe, her priests
teach for a price, and her prophets practice
divination for money. Yet they
lean upon the LORD, saying, “Is not the LORD among us? No
disaster can come upon us.”
And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will
teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of
Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And many nations will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will
teach us His ways, so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from
Zion and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
What profiteth the
graven image that the maker thereof hath
graven it; the
molten image, and a
teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make
dumb idols?
What use is an
idol, that a
craftsman should
carve it— or an image, a
teacher of lies? For its maker trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak.
Woe unto him that saith to the wood,
Awake; to the
dumb stone, Arise, it shall
teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
Woe to him who says to wood, ‘
Awake!’ or to silent stone, ‘Arise!’ Can it give guidance? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, yet there is no breath in it at all.”
And Jesus went about all
Galilee,
teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and
healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
Jesus went throughout
Galilee,
teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and
healing every disease and sickness among the people.
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
and He began to teach them, saying:
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall
teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but
whosoever shall do and
teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
So then,
whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and
teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but
whoever practices and
teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were
astonished at his doctrine:
When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were
astonished at His
teaching,
And a certain
scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee
whithersoever thou goest.
And one of the
scribes came to Him and said, “
Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.”
And when the
Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
When the
Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, “Why does your
Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages,
teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and
healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Jesus went through all the towns and villages,
teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and
healing every disease and sickness.
The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.
It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house
Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
It is enough for a disciple to be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!
And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to
teach and to
preach in their cities.
After Jesus had finished

teach and
preach in their cities.
Then certain of the
scribes and of the
Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
Then some of the
scribes and
Pharisees said to Him, “
Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’”

Teacher pay the two
drachmas?”
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

And they sent out unto him their disciples with the
Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and
teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
They sent their disciples to Him along with the
Herodians. “
Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are
honest and that You
teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You seek favor from no one, because You pay no attention to external appearance.
Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
“Teacher,” they said, “Moses declared that if a man dies without having children, his brother is to marry the widow and raise up offspring for him.
And when the multitude heard this, they were
astonished at his doctrine.
When the crowds heard this, they were
astonished at His
teaching.
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
“Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in the Law?”
But be not ye called
Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
But you are not to be called ‘
Rabbi,’ for you have one
Teacher, and you are all brothers.
Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and
scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and
crucify; and some of them shall ye
scourge in your synagogues, and
persecute them from city to city:
Because of this, I am sending you prophets and wise men and
teachers. Some of them you will kill and
crucify, and others you will
flog in your synagogues and
persecute in town after town.
And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the
passover at thy house with my disciples.
He answered, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him that the
Teacher says, ‘My time is near. I will keep the
Passover with My disciples at your house.’”
In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a
thief with swords and
staves for to take me? I sat daily with you
teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
At that time Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would an outlaw? Every day I sat teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest Me.
Go ye therefore, and
teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you
alway, even unto the end of the world.
Amen.
and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Then Jesus and His companions went to
Capernaum, and right away Jesus entered the
synagogue on the Sabbath and began to
teach.
And they were
astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the
scribes.
The people were
astonished at His
teaching, because He taught as one who had authority, and not as the
scribes.
And they were all
amazed,
insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
All the people were
amazed and began to ask one another, “What is this? A new
teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!”
And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
Once again Jesus began to teach beside the sea, and such a large crowd gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people crowded along the shore.
And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
And He taught them many things in parables, and in His teaching He said,
And he was in the hinder part of the ship,
asleep on a
pillow: and they
awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
But Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on the
cushion. So they
woke Him and said, “
Teacher, don’t You care that we are perishing?”
While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the
synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to
teach in the
synagogue: and many hearing him were

When the Sabbath came, He began to
teach in the
synagogue, and many who heard Him were
astonished. “Where did this man get these ideas?” they asked. “What is this wisdom He has been given? And how can He perform such miracles?
And he
marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages,
teaching.
And He was
amazed at their unbelief. And He went around from village to village,
teaching the people.
And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with
compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a
shepherd: and he began to
teach them many things.
When Jesus
stepped ashore and saw a large crowd, He had
compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a
shepherd. And He began to
teach them many things.
Howbeit in vain do they worship me,
teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’
And he began to
teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and
scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Then He began to
teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and
scribes, and that He must be killed and after three days rise again.
And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a
dumb spirit;
Someone in the crowd replied, “
Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a spirit that makes him
mute.
For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.

accompany us.”
And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and
kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may
inherit eternal life?
As Jesus started on His way, a man ran up and
knelt before Him. “Good
Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to
inherit eternal life?”
And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
“Teacher,” he replied, “all these I have kept from my youth.”
And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us
whatsoever we shall desire.
Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus and declared, “Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask.”
And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of
thieves.
Then Jesus began to teach them, and He declared, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”
And the
scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was
astonished at his doctrine.
When the chief priests and
scribes heard this, they looked for a way to kill Him. For they were afraid of Him, because the whole crowd was
astonished at His
teaching.
And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
“
Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are
honest and seek favor from no one. Indeed, You are impartial and
teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Should we pay them or not?”
Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man’s brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

And the
scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

Teacher,” the

And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the
scribes that Christ is the Son of David?
While Jesus was
teaching in the temple courts, He asked, “How can the
scribes say that the Christ is the Son of David?
And he said unto them in his doctrine,
Beware of the
scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love
salutations in the marketplaces,
In His
teaching Jesus also said, “Watch out for the
scribes. They like to walk around in long robes, to receive greetings in the marketplaces,
And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!
As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Teacher, look at the magnificent stones and buildings!”
And
wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the
goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the
passover with my disciples?
and
whichever house he enters, say to the owner, ‘The
Teacher asks: Where is My
guest room, where I may eat the
Passover with My disciples?’
I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.
Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest Me. But this has happened that the Scriptures would be fulfilled.”
And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
Finally, after three days they found Him in the temple courts, sitting among the
teachers,
listening to them and asking them questions.
Then came also publicans to be
baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?
Even tax collectors came to be
baptized. “
Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?”
And came down to
Capernaum, a city of
Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
Then He went down to

teach the people.

astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
They were
astonished at His
teaching, because His message had authority.
And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was
teaching, that there were
Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of
Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to
heal them.
One day Jesus was
teaching, and the
Pharisees and
teachers of the law were sitting there. People had come from Jerusalem and from every village of
Galilee and
Judea, and the power of the Lord was present for Him to
heal the sick.
And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the

And, behold, a certain
lawyer stood up, and
tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to
inherit eternal life?

Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to
inherit eternal life?”
And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
One day in a place where Jesus had just finished praying, one of His disciples requested, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.
One of the experts in the law told Him, “
Teacher, when You say these things, You
insult us as well.”
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
For at that time the Holy Spirit will teach you what you should say.”
And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
Someone in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
One Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to
inherit eternal life?
Then a certain ruler asked Him, “Good
Teacher, what must I do to
inherit eternal life?”
And some of the
Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master,
rebuke thy disciples.
But some of the
Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “
Teacher,
rebuke Your disciples!”
And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the
scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
Jesus was
teaching at the temple every day, but the chief priests,
scribes, and leaders of the people were intent on killing Him.
And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the
scribes came upon him with the elders,
One day as Jesus was
teaching the people in the temple courts and
proclaiming the gospel, the chief priests and
scribes, together with the elders, came up to Him.
And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
“
Teacher,” they inquired, “we know that You speak and
teach correctly. You show no
partiality, but
teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.
Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
“Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man is to marry his brother’s widow and raise up offspring for him.
Then certain of the
scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.
Some of the
scribes answered, “
Teacher, You have spoken well!”
And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
“Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?”

And ye shall say unto the
goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the
passover with my disciples?
and say to the owner of that house, ‘The
Teacher asks: Where is the
guest room, where I may eat the
Passover with My disciples?’
And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people,
teaching throughout all
Jewry, beginning from
Galilee to this place.
But they kept
insisting, “He stirs up the people all over
Judea with His
teaching. He began in
Galilee and has come all the way here.”
Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him,
Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
Jesus turned and saw them following. “What do you want?” He asked. They said to Him, “
Rabbi” (which means
Teacher), “where are You staying?”
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him,
Rabbi, we know that thou art a
teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
He came to Jesus at night and said, “
Rabbi, we know that You are a
teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs You are doing if God were not with him.”
