attentive to hear him.
Yet they could not find a way to do so, because all the people hung on His words.
And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
“Teacher,” they inquired, “we know that You speak and teach correctly. You show no
partiality, but teach the
way of God in accordance with the truth.

supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all
Jewry, beginning from
Galilee to this place.
But they kept
insisting, “He stirs up the people all over
Judea with His teaching. He began in
Galilee and has come all the
way here.”
And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a
Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.
As the soldiers led Him away, they seized Simon of
Cyrene on his
way in from the country, and put the cross on him to carry behind Jesus.

They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

waterpot, and went her
way into the city, and saith to the men,
Then the woman left her water

Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
So they left the town and made their way toward Jesus.

And while he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was alive.
The
impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the
pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
“Sir,” the
invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the
pool when the water is
stirred. While I am on my
way, someone else goes in before me.”
Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my
way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins:
whither I go, ye cannot come.
Again He said to them, “I am going away, and you will look for Me, but you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”
And said unto him, Go, wash in the
pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his
way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

ways to the

way ye know.
You know the way to the place where I am going.”

whither thou goest; and how can we know the
way?
“Lord,” said Thomas, “we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
But now I go my
way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me,
Whither goest thou?
Now, however, I am going to Him who sent Me; yet none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’
These things have I spoken unto you in
proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in
proverbs, but I shall
shew you plainly of the Father.
I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. An hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you this way, but will tell you plainly about the Father.
Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of
Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.
Later, by the Sea of
Tiberias, Jesus again revealed Himself to the disciples. He made Himself known in this
way:
Which also said, Ye men of
Galilee, why stand ye
gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
“Men of
Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same
way you have seen Him go into heaven.”
Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
You have made known to me the paths of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence.’
But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
But in this
way God has fulfilled what He
foretold through all the prophets, saying that His Christ would suffer.
Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to
bless you, in turning away every one of you from his
iniquities.
When God raised up His Servant, He sent Him first to you to
bless you by turning each of you from your wicked
ways.”
So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might
punish them, because of the people: for all men
glorified God for that which was done.
After further threats they let them go. They could not find a
way to
punish them, because all the people were
glorifying God for what had happened.
And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the
way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto
Gaza, which is desert.
Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Get up and go south to the desert road that goes down from Jerusalem to
Gaza.”
And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of
Ethiopia, an
eunuch of great authority under
Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her
treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
So he started out, and on his
way he met an
Ethiopian eunuch, a court official in charge of the entire treasury of
Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. He had gone to Jerusalem to worship,
And as they went on their
way, they came unto a certain water: and the
eunuch said, See, here is water; what
doth hinder me to be
baptized?
As they traveled along the road and came to some water, the
eunuch said, “Look, here is water! What is there to prevent me from being
baptized?”
And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the
eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his
way rejoicing.
When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the
eunuch saw him no more, but went on his
way rejoicing.
And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
and requested letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women belonging to the Way, he could bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.
But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
“Go!” said the Lord. “This man is My chosen instrument to carry My name before the Gentiles and their kings, and before the people of Israel.
And
Ananias went his
way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the
way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
So
Ananias went to the house, and when he arrived, he placed his hands on Saul. “Brother Saul,” he said, “the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here, has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
But
Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the
way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
Then
Barnabas brought him to the apostles and described how Saul had seen the Lord, who spoke to him on the road to Damascus, and how Saul had spoken boldly in that city in the name of Jesus.
And said, O full of all
subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness,
wilt thou not cease to
pervert the right
ways of the Lord?
and said, “O child of the devil and enemy of all righteousness, you are full of all kinds of
deceit and
trickery! Will you never stop
perverting the straight
ways of the Lord?
Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
In past generations, He let all nations go their own way.
And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
Sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, recounting the conversion of the Gentiles and bringing great joy to all the brothers.
The same followed Paul and us, and
cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which
shew unto us the
way of salvation.
This
girl followed Paul and the rest of us,
shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are
proclaiming to you the
way of salvation!”
And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.
The
jailer informed Paul: “The magistrates have sent orders to release you. Now you may go on your
way in peace.”
Then Paul stood in the midst of
Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too
superstitious.
Then Paul stood up in the meeting of the
Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I see that in every
way you are very religious.
Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.
“This man is
persuading the people to worship God in
ways contrary to the law,” they said.
And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the
synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.
When they reached Ephesus, Paul parted
ways with
Priscilla and
Aquila. He himself went into the
synagogue there and reasoned with the Jews.
This man was
instructed in the
way of the Lord; and being
fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught
diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
He had been
instructed in the
way of the Lord and was
fervent in spirit. He spoke and taught accurately about Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John.
And he began to speak boldly in the
synagogue: whom when
Aquila and
Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and
expounded unto him the
way of God more perfectly.
And he began to speak boldly in the
synagogue. When
Priscilla and
Aquila heard him, they took him in and explained to him the
way of God more accurately.
But when
divers were
hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that
way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one
Tyrannus.
And the same time there arose no small
stir about that
way.
About that time there arose a great disturbance about the Way.
And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our
way; and they all brought us on our
way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we
kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
But when our time there had ended, we set out on our journey. All the disciples, with their wives and children, accompanied us out of the city and
knelt down on the
beach to pray with us.
And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s
girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this
girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own feet and hands, and said, “The Holy Spirit says: ‘In this way the Jews of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and hand him over to the Gentiles.’”
And I
persecuted this
way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
I
persecuted this
Way even to the death,
detaining both men and women and throwing them into prison,
As also the high priest
doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.
as the high priest and the whole Council can
testify about me. I even obtained letters from them to their brothers in Damascus, and I was on my
way to
apprehend these people and bring them to Jerusalem to be punished.
Now therefore ye with the council
signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to
morrow, as though ye would
enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.
Now then, you and the
Sanhedrin petition the commander to bring him down to you on the pretext of examining his case more carefully. We are ready to kill him on the
way.”
In every
way and everywhere, most excellent
Felix, we acknowledge this with all
gratitude.
But this I
confess unto thee, that after the
way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:
I do
confess to you, however, that I worship the God of our fathers according to the
Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that is laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets,
And when
Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that
way, he
deferred them, and said, When
Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the
uttermost of your matter.
Then
Felix, who was well informed about the
Way,
adjourned the hearing and said, “When
Lysias the commander comes, I will decide your case.”
And as he reasoned of righteousness,
temperance, and judgment to come
Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy
way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
As Paul
expounded on righteousness, self-control, and the coming judgment,
Felix became
frightened and said, “You may go for now. When I find the time, I will call for you.”
And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him.
to grant them a
concession against Paul by
summoning him to Jerusalem, because they were preparing an
ambush to kill him along the
way.
Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
In this pursuit I was on my way to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests.
At
midday, O king, I saw in the
way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun,
shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
About
noon, O king, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun,
shining around me and my companions.
And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.
On their way out, they said to one another, “This man has done nothing worthy of death or imprisonment.”
And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
Unable to head into the wind, the ship was caught up. So we gave way and let ourselves be driven along.
And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
The rest were to follow on planks and various parts of the ship. In this
way everyone was brought safely to land.
Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they
laded us with such things as were necessary.
The islanders honored us in many ways and supplied our needs when we were ready to sail.
Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
Much in every way. First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
Destruction and misery are in their ways:
ruin and misery lie in their
wake,
And the way of peace have they not known:
and the way of peace they have not known.”
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not
sinned after the
similitude of Adam’s
transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who did not sin in the
way that Adam
transgressed. He is a pattern of the One to come.
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
But now, having died to what bound us, we have been released from the law, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our
infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh
intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.
Even so then at this present time also there is a
remnant according to the election of grace.
In the same
way, at the present time there is a
remnant chosen by grace.
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
O, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and untraceable His ways!
Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.
Therefore let us stop judging one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any
stumbling block or
obstacle in your brother’s
way.
For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
For
whoever serves Christ in this
way is pleasing to God and approved by men.
Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto
Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the
way around to
Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
Yea, so have I
strived to
preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:
In this
way I have
aspired to
preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.
Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my
way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company.
I hope to see you on my
way to Spain. And after I have enjoyed your company for a while, you can
equip me for my journey.
But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.
Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem to serve the saints there.
When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.
So after I have completed this service and have safely delivered this
bounty to them, I will set off to Spain by
way of you.
That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all
utterance, and in all knowledge;
For in Him you have been enriched in every way, in all speech and all knowledge,
For ye are yet
carnal: for whereas there is among you
envying, and
strife, and divisions, are ye not
carnal, and walk as men?
for you are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and
dissension among you, are you not worldly? Are you not walking in the
way of man?
For this cause have I sent unto you
Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into
remembrance of my
ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
That is why I have sent you
Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you of my
way of life in Christ Jesus, which is exactly what I teach everywhere in every church.
But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
By
sinning against your brothers in this
way and wounding their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which
preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
In the same
way, the Lord has prescribed that those who
preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to take the prize.
There hath no
temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a
way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
No
temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be
tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are
tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it.
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had
supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as
oft as ye drink it, in
remembrance of me.
In the same
way, after
supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in
remembrance of Me.”
And there are
diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all people.
But
covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet
shew I unto you a more excellent
way.
But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away
childish things.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside
childish ways.
For I will not see you now by the
way; but I trust to
tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.
For I do not want to see you now only in passing; I hope to
spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.
Let no man therefore
despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren.
No one, then, should treat him with contempt. Send him on his way in peace so that he can return to me, for I am expecting him along with the brothers.
And to pass by you into
Macedonia, and to come again out of
Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my
way toward Judaea.
I wanted to visit you on my
way to
Macedonia, and to return to you from
Macedonia, and then to have you help me on my
way to
Judea.
