devour hostile nations and
crush their bones, to
pierce them with
arrows.

arrows upon them.

spend My
arrows against them.

arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall
devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the

captives, the heads of the enemy leaders.”

hurt; as the LORD liveth.

“Open the east window,” said
Elisha. So he opened it and

arrow of victory over
Aram, for you shall strike the Arameans in Aphek until you have put an end to them.”

arrow into it. He will not come before it with a shield or build up a siege
ramp against it.
They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in
hurling stones and shooting
arrows out of a bow, even of Saul’s brethren of Benjamin.

sling stones and shoot
arrows; and they were Saul’s
kinsmen from Benjamin):

cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot
arrows and great stones
withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.
And in Jerusalem he made
skillfully designed devices to shoot
arrows and
catapult large stones from the towers and corners. So his fame spread far and wide, for he was helped
tremendously so that he became powerful.
For the
arrows of the
Almighty are within me, the poison
whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in
array against me.
For the
arrows of the
Almighty have pierced me; my spirit drinks in their poison; the terrors of God are
arrayed against me.
He shall
flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.
Though he flees from an iron weapon, a bronze-
tipped arrow will
pierce him.
The sword that reaches him has no effect, nor does the
spear or
dart or
arrow.
The
arrow cannot make him
flee: slingstones are turned with him into
stubble.
No
arrow can make him
flee; slingstones become like
chaff to him.

arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me
sore.
For Your arrows have pierced me deeply, and Your hand has pressed down on me.

Your
arrows pierce the hearts of the king’s foes; the nations fall beneath your feet.
My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
My soul is among the lions; I lie down with
ravenous beasts— with men whose teeth are spears and
arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.
Let them
melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his
arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.
May they
vanish like water that runs off; when they draw the bow, may their
arrows be
blunted.
Who
whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their
arrows, even bitter words:
who
sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like
arrows,
But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly they will be wounded.
There
brake he the
arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle.
Selah.
There He
shattered the flaming
arrows, the shield and sword and weapons of war.
Selah The clouds poured out water: the
skies sent out a sound: thine
arrows also went abroad.
The clouds poured down water; the
skies resounded with
thunder; Your
arrows flashed back and forth.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the
arrow that
flies by day,
Sharp
arrows of the mighty, with coals of
juniper.
Sharp
arrows will come from the
warrior, with burning coals of the
broom tree!
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Like
arrows in the hand of a
warrior, so are children born in one’s youth.

lightning, and
scatter them: shoot out thine
arrows, and destroy them.
Till a
dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the
snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

arrow pierces his liver, like a bird
darting into a
snare— not knowing it will cost him his life.
A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a
maul, and a sword, and a sharp
arrow.

arrow is a man who bears false witness against his
neighbor.
As a
mad man who casteth firebrands,
arrows, and death,
Like a
madman shooting firebrands and deadly
arrows,
Whose
arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent, their horses’
hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a
whirlwind:
Their
arrows are sharpened, and all their bows are
strung. The
hooves of their horses are like flint; their
chariot wheels are like a
whirlwind.

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.

arrow into it. He will not come before it with a shield or build up a siege
ramp against it.
And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he
hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his
quiver hath he
hid me;
He made My mouth like a sharp sword; He
hid Me in the shadow of His hand. He made Me like a polished
arrow; He
hid Me in His
quiver.
Their tongue is as an
arrow shot out; it speaketh
deceit: one speaketh
peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.
Their tongues are deadly
arrows; they speak
deception. With his mouth a man speaks peace to his
neighbor, but in his heart he sets a
trap for him.
For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in
array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their
arrows shall be as of a mighty
expert man; none shall return in vain.
For behold, I
stir up and bring against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the land of the north. They will line up against her; from the north she will be captured. Their
arrows will be like skilled warriors who do not return empty-handed.
Put
yourselves in
array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her,
spare no
arrows: for she hath
sinned against the LORD.
Line up in formation around Babylon, all you who draw the bow! Shoot at her!
Spare no
arrows! For she has
sinned against the LORD.
Make bright the
arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his
device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the
vengeance of the LORD, the
vengeance of his temple.
Sharpen the
arrows! Fill the quivers! The LORD has
aroused the spirit of the kings of the Medes, because His plan is aimed at Babylon to destroy her, for it is the
vengeance of the LORD—
vengeance for His temple.
He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
He bent His bow and set me as the
target for His
arrow.

arrows of his
quiver to enter into my
reins.

kidneys with His
arrows.
When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread:
When I shower you with the deadly
arrows of famine and destruction that I will send to destroy you, I will
intensify the famine against you and cut off your supply of food.
For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use
divination: he made his
arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.
For the king of Babylon stands at the
fork in the road, at the junction of the two roads, to seek an
omen: He shakes the
arrows, he consults the idols, he examines the liver.
And I will
smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine
arrows to fall out of thy right hand.

dash down the
arrows from your right hand.
And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:

kindle fires, and burn up the weapons—the bucklers and shields, the bows and
arrows, the clubs and spears. For seven years they will use them for fuel.

arrows.

arrows, at the brightness of Your
shining spear.

arrow shall go forth as the
lightning: and the LORD GOD shall blow the
trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
Then the LORD will appear over them, and His
arrow will go forth like
lightning. The Lord GOD will sound the ram’s horn and advance in the whirlwinds of the south.
Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to
quench all the
fiery darts of the wicked.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can
extinguish all the flaming
arrows of the evil one.
May one turn again the arrow that is shot of a strong archer?
For strong is his right hand that bendeth the bow, his arrows that he shooteth are sharp, and shall not miss, when they begin to be shot into the ends of the world.
Like as an arrow which is shot of a mighty archer returneth not backward: even so the plagues that shall be sent upon earth shall not return again.
Or like as when an arrow is shot at a mark, it parteth the air, which immediately cometh together again, so that a man cannot know where it went through:
As an
arrow that sticketh in a man’s
thigh, so is a word within a
fool’s
belly.
She will open her mouth, as a
thirsty traveller when he hath found a fountain, and drink of every water near her: by every
hedge will she sit down, and open her
quiver against every
arrow.
And took Maccabeus
betwixt them, and covered him on every side weapons, and kept him safe, but shot
arrows and lightnings against the enemies: so that being confounded with blindness, and full of trouble, they were killed.
