But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.

fulfilling their duties at the Tent of Meeting, but they themselves are not to do the work. This is how you are to
assign responsibilities to the Levites.”
And when the cloud
tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the
charge of the LORD, and journeyed not.
Even when the cloud
lingered over the tabernacle for many days, the Israelites kept the LORD’s
charge and did not set out.
At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
They camped at the LORD’s command, and they set out at the LORD’s command; they carried out the LORD’s charge according to His command through Moses.
And they shall keep thy
charge, and the
charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come
nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.
And they shall attend to your duties and to all the duties of the Tent; but they must not come near to the furnishings of the sanctuary or the altar, or both they and you will die.
And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the
charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come
nigh unto you.
They are to join you and attend to the duties of the Tent of Meeting, doing all the work at the Tent; but no outsider may come near you.
And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.
And you shall attend to the duties of the sanctuary and of the altar, so that wrath may not fall on the Israelites again.
And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the
charge of mine
heave offerings of all the
hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the
anointing, and to thy sons, by an
ordinance for ever.
Then the LORD said to Aaron, “Behold, I have put you in charge of My offerings. As for all the sacred offerings of the Israelites, I have given them to you and your sons as a portion and a permanent statute.
And set him before
Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a
charge in their sight.
Have him stand before
Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation, and commission him in their sight.
And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
and laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the LORD had
instructed through Moses.
And of the children of Israel’s half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the
beeves, of the
asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the
charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.
From the Israelites’ half, take one out of every fifty, whether persons, cattle,
donkeys, sheep, or other animals, and give them to the Levites who keep
charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.”
Even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
From the Israelites’ half, Moses took one out of every fifty persons and animals and gave them to the Levites who kept charge of the tabernacle of the LORD, as the LORD had commanded him.
And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.
and said, “Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one of us is missing.
And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.
At that time I charged your judges: “Hear the disputes between your brothers, and judge fairly between a man and his brother or a foreign resident.
But
charge Joshua, and
encourage him, and
strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to
inherit the land which thou shalt see.
But commission Joshua,
encourage him, and
strengthen him, for he will cross over
ahead of the people and enable them to
inherit the land that you will see.”
Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his
charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments,
alway.
You shall therefore love the LORD your God and always keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.
Be
merciful, O LORD, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s
charge. And the blood shall be
forgiven them.
Accept this
atonement, O LORD, for Your people Israel whom You have redeemed, and do not hold the
shedding of innocent blood against them.” And the
bloodshed will be
atoned for.
Do not
charge your brother interest on money, food, or any other type of
loan.
Unto a stranger thou mayest
lend upon
usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not
lend upon
usury: that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land
whither thou goest to possess it.
You may
charge a foreigner interest, but not your brother, so that the LORD your God may
bless you in everything to which you put your hand in the land that you are entering to possess.
When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be
charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall
cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
If a man is newly married, he must not be sent to war or be pressed into any duty. For one year he is free to stay at home and bring joy to the wife he has married.
And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,
On that day Moses commanded the people:
And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present
yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a
charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, the time of your death is near. Call Joshua and present
yourselves at the Tent of Meeting, so that I may commission him.” So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the Tent of Meeting.
And he gave Joshua the son of
Nun a
charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I
sware unto them: and I will be with thee.
Then the LORD commissioned Joshua son of
Nun and said, “Be strong and
courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land that I
swore to give them, and I will be with you.”
And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the
trumpet, all the people shall
shout with a great
shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall
ascend up every man straight before him.
And when there is a long blast of the ram’s horn and you hear its sound, have all the people give a mighty
shout. Then the wall of the city will
collapse and all your people will
charge straight into the city.”
So the people
shouted when the priests
blew with the
trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the
trumpet, and the people
shouted with a great
shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
So when the rams’ horns sounded, the people
shouted. When they heard the blast of the horn, the people gave a great
shout, and the wall
collapsed. Then all the people
charged straight into the city and captured it.
And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua
charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the LORD in
Shiloh.
As the men got up to go out, Joshua commanded them to map out the land, saying, “Go and survey the land, map it out, and return to me. Then I will cast lots for you here in
Shiloh in the presence of the LORD.”
Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the LORD your God.
All this time you have not deserted your brothers, up to this very day, but have kept the charge given you by the LORD your God.
But take
diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD
charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to
cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
But be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
So the people took
victuals in their hand, and their
trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of
Midian was beneath him in the valley.
So
Gideon sent the rest of the Israelites to their tents but kept the three hundred men, who took
charge of the provisions and rams’ horns of the others. And the camp of
Midian lay below him in the valley.
And all the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and put themselves in
array at
Baal-tamar: and the liers in wait of Israel came forth out of their places, even out of the meadows of Gibeah.
So all the men of Israel got up from their places and
arrayed themselves at
Baal-tamar, and the Israelites in
ambush charged from their positions west of Gibeah.
Let thine eyes be on the field that they do
reap, and go thou after them: have I not
charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art
athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn.
Let your eyes be on the field they are harvesting, and follow along after these girls. Indeed, I have ordered the young men not to touch you. And when you are
thirsty, go and drink from the jars the young men have filled.”
And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and
smote them, until they came under Beth-
car.
Then the men of Israel
charged out of
Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, striking them down all the way to an area below Beth-
car.
Yet they had a
file for the mattocks, and for the coulters, and for the forks, and for the axes, and to
sharpen the goads.
But
Jonathan heard not when his father
charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and
dipped it in an
honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were
enlightened.
Jonathan, however, had not heard that his father had
charged the people with the oath. So he reached out the end of the staff in his hand,
dipped it into the
honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes
brightened.
Then answered one of the people, and said, Thy father straitly
charged the people with an oath, saying,
Cursed be the man that eateth any food this day. And the people were
faint.
Then one of the soldiers told him, “Your father bound the troops with a solemn oath, saying, ‘
Cursed is the man who eats food
today.’ That is why the people are
faint.”
Therefore Saul said unto the LORD God of Israel, Give a perfect lot. And Saul and
Jonathan were taken: but the people escaped.
So Saul said to the LORD, the God of Israel, “Why have You not answered Your servant this day? If the fault is with me or my son
Jonathan,
respond with
Urim; but if the fault is with the men of Israel,
respond with
Thummim.” And
Jonathan and Saul were selected, but the people were cleared of the
charge.
And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and
shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the gates of
Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto
Gath, and unto
Ekron.
Then the men of Israel and Judah
charged forward with a
shout and pursued the Philistines to the entrance of
Gath and to the gates of
Ekron. And the bodies of the Philistines were
strewn along the Shaaraim road to
Gath and
Ekron.
And David said unto
Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business
whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place.
“The king has given me a mission,” David replied. “He told me no one is to know about the mission or charge. And I have directed my young men to meet me at a certain place.
Then was
Abner very
wroth for the words of
Ish-bosheth, and said, Am I a dog’s head, which against Judah do
shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou
chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?
Abner was
furious over
Ish-bosheth’s
accusation. “Am I the head of a dog that belongs to Judah?” he asked. “All this time I have been
loyal to the house of your father Saul, to his brothers, and to his friends. I have not delivered you into the hand of David, but now you
accuse me of
wrongdoing with this woman!
And
charged the
messenger, saying, When thou hast made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king,
and
instructed the
messenger, “When you have finished giving the king all the details of the battle,
And the king said to
Absalom,
Nay, my son, let us not all now go, lest we be
chargeable unto thee. And he pressed him:
howbeit he would not go, but blessed him.
“No, my son,” the king replied, “we should not all go, or we would be a burden to you.” Although
Absalom urged him, he was not willing to go, but gave him his blessing.
And the king said unto the woman, Go to thine house, and I will give charge concerning thee.
“Go home,” the king said to the woman, “and I will give orders on your behalf.”
And the king commanded
Joab and
Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with
Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains
charge concerning
Absalom.
Now the king had commanded
Joab,
Abishai, and Ittai, “Treat the young man

And the man said unto
Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the king’s son: for in our hearing the king
charged thee and
Abishai and Ittai, saying,
Beware that none touch the young man
Absalom.
The man replied, “Even if a thousand shekels of silver were

And keep the

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and
Zadok and
Abiathar were the priests:
Benaiah son of Jehoiada was in
charge of the army;
Zadok and
Abiathar were priests;
And
Azariah the son of
Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of
Nathan was principal officer, and the king’s friend:
