And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.
And the LORD replied, “Go down and bring Aaron with you. But the priests and the people must not break through to come up to the LORD, or He will break out against them.”
So Moses went down unto the people, and spake unto them.
So Moses went down to the people and spoke to them.
Thou shalt not bow
down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate me;
You shall not bow
down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who
hate Me,
If a man seduces a virgin who is not
pledged in marriage and sleeps with her, he must pay the full
dowry for her to be his wife.
If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the
dowry of virgins.
If her father absolutely refuses to give her to him, the man still must pay an amount comparable to the
bridal price of a virgin.
If thou at all take thy neighbour’s
raiment to
pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth
down:
Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
You must not bow
down to their gods or serve them or follow their practices. Instead, you are to
demolish them and
smash their sacred stones to pieces.
And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
And Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. Early the next morning he got up and built an altar at the base of the mountain, along with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.
And the
remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half
curtain that remaineth, shall
hang over the
backside of the tabernacle.
As for the
overlap that remains of the tent curtains, the half
curtain that is left over shall
hang down over the back of the tabernacle.
And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come
down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we
wot not what is become of him.
Now when the people saw that Moses was delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him!”
And they rose up early on the
morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat
down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
So the next day they arose, offered burnt offerings, and presented peace offerings. And the people sat
down to eat and drink, and got up to
indulge in
revelry.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go down at once, for your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves.
They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a
molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed
thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
How quickly they have turned aside from the way that I commanded them! They have made for themselves a
molten calf and have bowed
down to it. They have sacrificed to it and said, ‘These, O Israel, are your gods, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.’”
And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written.
Then Moses turned and went down the mountain with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands. They were inscribed on both sides, front and back.
And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the
cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.
As Moses entered the tent, the
pillar of cloud would come
down and remain at the entrance, and the LORD would speak with Moses.
And Moses made
haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.
Moses immediately bowed down to the ground and worshiped.
But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:
Rather, you must
tear down their altars,
smash their sacred stones, and
chop down their Asherah poles.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the
tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.
The LORD also said to Moses, “Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”
And it came to pass, when Moses came
down from mount
Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came
down from the mount, that Moses
wist not that the skin of his face
shone while he talked with him.
And when Moses came
down from Mount
Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, he was unaware that his face had become
radiant from speaking with the LORD.
And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.
Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them. And having made the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offering, he
stepped down.
And every thing
whereupon any part of their
carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be
oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken
down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.
Anything upon which one of their
carcasses falls will be unclean. If it is an
oven or
cooking pot, it must be
smashed; it is unclean and will remain unclean for you.
And he shall break
down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the
morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place.
It must be
torn down with its stones, its timbers, and all its
plaster, and taken outside the city to an unclean place.
And
whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
And if any
Israelite or foreigner living among them hunts
down a wild animal or bird that may be eaten, he must
drain its blood and cover it with
dirt.
Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to
defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie
down thereto: it is confusion.
Thou shalt not go up and
down as a
talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.
You must not go about spreading
slander among your people. You must not
endanger the life of your
neighbor. I am the LORD.
And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie
down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
If a woman approaches any animal to
mate with it, you must kill both the woman and the animal. They must surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.
And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food.
When the sun has set, he will become clean, and then he may eat from the sacred offerings, for they are his food.
Ye shall make you no idols nor
graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow
down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
“You must not make idols for
yourselves or set up a carved image or sacred
pillar; you must not place a sculpted stone in your land to bow
down to it. For I am the LORD your God.
And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
And I will give peace to the land, and you will lie down with nothing to fear. I will rid the land of dangerous animals, and no sword will pass through your land.
And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:
I will break
down your
stubborn pride and make your sky like iron and your land like bronze,
And I will destroy your high places, and cut
down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall
abhor you.
I will destroy your high places, cut
down your incense altars, and
heap your lifeless bodies on the lifeless remains of your idols; and My soul will
despise you.
And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it
down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.
Because all the
firstborn are mine; for on the day that I
smote all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt I
hallowed unto me all the
firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD.
for all the
firstborn are Mine. On the day I struck
down every
firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated to Myself all the
firstborn in Israel, both man and beast. They are Mine; I am the LORD.”
And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take
down the covering
vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:
Whenever the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons are to go in, take
down the
veil of the
curtain, and cover the ark of the Testimony with it.
And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering of
memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the
curse:
After the priest has the woman stand before the LORD, he is to let
down her hair and place in her hands the grain offering of
memorial, which is the grain offering for jealousy. The priest is to hold the bitter water that brings a
curse.
For all the
firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I
smote every
firstborn in the land of Egypt I
sanctified them for myself.
For every
firstborn male in Israel is Mine, both man and beast. I set them apart for Myself on the day I struck
down all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt.
And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle.
Then the tabernacle was taken down, and the Gershonites and the Merarites set out, transporting it.
And the people
cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was
quenched.
And the people
cried out to Moses, and he prayed to the LORD, and the fire died
down.
And I will come
down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not
thyself alone.
And I will come
down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the Spirit that is on you and put that Spirit on them. They will help you bear the burden of the people, so that you do not have to bear it by
yourself.
And the LORD came
down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they
prophesied, and did not cease.
Then the LORD came
down in the cloud and spoke to him, and He took some of the Spirit that was on Moses and placed that Spirit on the seventy elders. As the Spirit rested on them, they
prophesied—but they never did so again.
And the LORD came
down in the
pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and
Miriam: and they both came forth.
and the LORD came
down in a
pillar of cloud, stood at the entrance to the Tent, and summoned Aaron and
Miriam. When both of them had
stepped forward,
And they came unto the
brook of
Eshcol, and cut
down from thence a branch with one
cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.
When they came to the Valley of
Eshcol, they cut
down a branch with a single
cluster of grapes, which they carried on a pole between two men. They also took some pomegranates and figs.
The place was called the
brook Eshcol, because of the
cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut
down from thence.
Because of the
cluster of grapes the Israelites cut there, that place was called the Valley of
Eshcol.
Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.
those men who had brought out the bad report about the land—were struck down by a plague before the LORD.
Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not
smitten before your enemies.
Do not go up, lest you be struck down by your enemies, because the LORD is not among you.
Then the
Amalekites and
Canaanites who lived in that part of the hill country came
down, attacked them, and routed them all the way to Hormah.
But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and
swallow them up, with all that
appertain unto them, and they go
down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have
provoked the LORD.
But if the LORD brings about something
unprecedented, and the earth opens its mouth and
swallows them and all that belongs to them so that they go
down alive into
Sheol, then you will know that these men have treated the LORD with contempt.”
They, and all that
appertained to them, went
down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
They went
down alive into
Sheol with all they owned. The earth closed over them, and they
vanished from the assembly.
How our fathers went
down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians
vexed us, and our fathers:
how our fathers went down to Egypt, where we lived many years. The Egyptians mistreated us and our fathers,
And Moses
stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon
Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and
Eleazar came
down from the mount.
After Moses had removed Aaron’s garments and put them on his son
Eleazar, Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and
Eleazar came
down from the mountain.
And at the stream of the
brooks that goeth
down to the dwelling of Ar, and lieth upon the border of Moab.
even the slopes of the wadis that extend to the site of Ar and lie along the border of Moab.”
So they
smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.
So they struck
down Og, along with his sons and his whole army, until no
remnant was left. And they took possession of his land.
When the
donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay
down under
Balaam, and he became
furious and beat her with his staff.
Then the LORD opened the eyes of
Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed
down his head, and fell flat on his face.
Then the LORD opened
Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand. And
Balaam bowed low and fell facedown.
Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.
Behold, the people rise like a
lioness; they
rouse themselves like a lion, not resting until they
devour their prey and drink the blood of the slain.”
He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the
Almighty, falling into a
trance, but having his eyes open:
the prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who sees a vision from the
Almighty, who bows
down with eyes wide open:
He
couched, he lay
down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall
stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and
cursed is he that curseth thee.
He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the
Almighty, falling into a
trance, but having his eyes open:
the prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who has knowledge from the Most High, who sees a vision from the
Almighty, who bows
down with eyes wide open:
I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not
nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a
Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall
smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of
Sheth.
I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come forth from Jacob, and a
scepter will arise from Israel. He will
crush the skulls of Moab and strike
down all the sons of
Sheth.
And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
who also invited them to the sacrifices for their gods. And the people
ate and bowed
down to these gods.
For the Egyptians buried all their
firstborn, which the LORD had
smitten among them: upon their gods also the LORD executed judgments.
who were
burying all their
firstborn, whom the LORD had struck
down among them; for the LORD had executed judgment against their gods.
Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their
molten images, and quite
pluck down all their high places:
you must drive out before you all the inhabitants of the land, destroy all their carved images and cast idols, and
demolish all their high places.
And the coast shall go
down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of
Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach unto the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward:
then go
down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of
Ain and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Chinnereth.
And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea: this shall be your land with the coasts thereof round about.
Then the border will go down along the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. This will be your land, defined by its borders on all sides.”
And they took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it
down unto us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which the LORD our God
doth give us.
They took some of the fruit of the land in their hands, carried it down to us, and brought us word: “It is a good land that the LORD our God is giving us.”
So the LORD our God delivered into our hands
Og also, the king of
Bashan, and all his people: and we
smote him until none was left to him remaining.
So the LORD our God also delivered
Og king of
Bashan and his whole army into our hands. We struck them
down until no
survivor was left.
And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
When you look to the heavens and see the sun and moon and stars—all the host of heaven—do not be
enticed to bow
down and worship what the LORD your God has
apportioned to all the nations under heaven.
Thou shalt not bow
down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate me,
You shall not bow
down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who
hate Me,
And thou shalt teach them
diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest
down, and when thou risest up.
And you shall teach them
diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie
down and when you get up.
But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break
down their images, and cut
down their groves, and burn their
graven images with fire.
Instead, this is what you are to do to them:
tear down their altars,
smash their sacred pillars, cut
down their Asherah poles, and burn their idols in the fire.
And it shall be, if thou do at all
forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I
testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
If you ever
forget the LORD your God and go after other gods to worship and bow
down to them, I
testify against you
today that you will surely perish.
Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a
consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them
down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.
But understand that
today the LORD your God goes across
ahead of you as a
consuming fire; He will destroy them and
subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and
annihilate them swiftly, as the LORD has promised you.
And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get thee
down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a
molten image.
And the LORD said to me, “Get up and go
down from here at once, for your people, whom you brought out of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. How quickly they have turned aside from the way that I commanded them! They have made for themselves a
molten image.”
So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.
So I went back
down the mountain while it was
blazing with fire, with the two tablets of the covenant in my hands.
And I fell
down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye
sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
Then I fell
down before the LORD for forty days and forty nights, as I had done the first time. I did not eat bread or drink water because of all the sin you had committed in doing what was evil in the sight of the LORD and
provoking Him to anger.
And I took your sin, the
calf which ye had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust: and I cast the dust thereof into the
brook that descended out of the mount.
And I took that sinful thing, the
calf you had made, and burned it in the fire. Then I
crushed it and ground it to powder as fine as dust, and I cast it into the stream that came
down from the mountain.
Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.
So I fell down before the LORD for forty days and forty nights, because the LORD had said He would destroy you.
And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.
and I went back down the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark I had made, as the LORD had commanded me; and there they have remained.
Thy fathers went
down into Egypt with
threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.
Your fathers went down to Egypt, seventy in all, and now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.
Take
heed to
yourselves, that your heart be not
deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
But be careful that you are not
enticed to turn aside to worship and bow
down to other gods,
And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Teach them to your children, speaking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth
down, in the land of the
Canaanites, which dwell in the
champaign over against
Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?
Are not these mountains across the Jordan, west of the road toward the
sunset, in the land of the
Canaanites who live in the Arabah opposite
Gilgal near the Oak of Moreh?
And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall
hew down the
graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.
Tear down their altars,
smash their sacred pillars, burn up their Asherah poles, cut
down the idols of their gods, and
wipe out their names from every place.
But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the
passover at even, at the going
down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.
You must only offer the
Passover sacrifice at the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His Name. Do this in the evening as the sun sets, at the same time you departed from Egypt.
And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
and going to worship other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven—which I have forbidden—
As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to
hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the
axe to cut
down the tree, and the head slippeth from the
helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall
flee unto one of those cities, and live:
If he goes into the forest with his
neighbor to cut timber and swings his
axe to
chop down a tree, but the
blade flies off the handle and strikes and kills his
neighbor, he may
flee to one of these cities to save his life.
When thou shalt
besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an
axe against them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them
down (for the tree of the field is man’s life) to employ them in the siege:
When you lay siege to a city for an extended time while fighting against it to capture it, you must not destroy its trees by putting an
axe to them, because you can eat their fruit. You must not cut them
down. Are the trees of the field human, that you should
besiege them?
Only the trees which thou knowest that they be not trees for meat, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued.
But you may destroy the trees that you know do not produce fruit. Use them to build siege works against the city that is
waging war against you, until it falls.
And the elders of that city shall bring
down the
heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the
heifer’s neck there in the valley:
bring the
heifer to a valley with running water that has not been
plowed or sown, and break its neck there by the stream.
Thou shalt not see thy brother’s
ass or his ox fall
down by the way, and hide
thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again.
If you see your brother’s
donkey or ox fallen on the road, you must not
ignore it; you must help him lift it up.
But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.
When evening approaches, he must wash with water, and when the sun sets he may return to the camp.
In any case thou shalt deliver him the
pledge again when the sun goeth
down, that he may sleep in his own
raiment, and
bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.
be sure to return it to him by
sunset, so that he may sleep in his own
cloak and
bless you, and this will be credited to you as righteousness before the LORD your God.
At his day thou shalt give him his
hire, neither shall the sun go
down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.
You are to pay his wages each day before
sunset, because he is poor and depends on them. Otherwise he may cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
When thou cuttest
down thine harvest in thy field, and hast
forgot a
sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to
fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all the work of thine hands.
If you are harvesting in your field and
forget a
sheaf there, do not go back to get it. It is to be left for the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, so that the LORD your God may
bless you in all the work of your hands.
And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
If the guilty man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall have him lie
down and be
flogged in his presence with the number of lashes his crime warrants.
And the priest shall take the
basket out of thine hand, and set it
down before the altar of the LORD thy God.
Then the priest shall take the
basket from your hands and place it before the altar of the LORD your God,
And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A
Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went
down into Egypt, and
sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and
populous:
and you are to declare before the LORD your God, “My father was a wandering
Aramean, and he went
down to Egypt few in number and lived there and became a great nation, mighty and numerous.
And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which thou, O LORD, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God, and worship before the LORD thy God:
And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land that You, O LORD, have given me.” Then you are to place the
basket before the LORD your God and bow
down before Him.
Look
