Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O
Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
Woe to the
dwellers of the
seacoast, O nation of the Cherethites! The word of the LORD is against you, O
Canaan, land of the Philistines: “I will destroy you, and no one will be left.”
And the sea coast shall be
dwellings and cottages for
shepherds, and folds for flocks.
So the
seacoast will become a land of pastures, with wells for
shepherds and folds for sheep.
This is the
rejoicing city that dwelt
carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a
desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and
wag his hand.
This carefree city that
dwells securely, that thinks to herself: “I am it, and there is none besides me,” what a ruin she has become, a resting place for beasts.
Everyone who passes by her hisses and shakes his
fist.
I said, Surely thou
wilt fear me, thou
wilt receive instruction; so their
dwelling should not be cut off,
howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
I said, ‘Surely you will fear Me and accept correction.’ Then her
dwelling place would not be cut off
despite all for which I punished her. But they rose early to corrupt all their deeds.
Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
“Is it a time for you
yourselves to live in your
paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?”
Deliver
thyself, O
Zion, that
dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
“Get up, O
Zion! Escape, you who
dwell with the Daughter of Babylon!”
Sing and
rejoice, O daughter of
Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will
dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
“
Shout for joy and be
glad, O Daughter of
Zion, for I am coming to
dwell among you,” declares the LORD.
And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
“On that day many nations will join themselves to the LORD, and they will become My people. I will dwell among you, and you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me to you.
Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy
habitation.
Be silent before the LORD, all people, for He has
roused Himself from His holy
dwelling.”
Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto
Zion, and will
dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.
This is what the LORD says: “I will return to
Zion and
dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD of Hosts will be called the Holy Mountain.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Old men and old women will again sit along the streets of Jerusalem, each with a staff in hand because of great age.
And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
I will bring them back to dwell in Jerusalem, where they will be My people, and I will be their faithful and righteous God.”
And a
bastard shall
dwell in
Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
A mixed race will occupy
Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
People will live there, and never again will there be an utter destruction. So Jerusalem will dwell securely.
Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and
dwell there; and the final
plight of that man is worse than the first. So will it be with this wicked generation.”
And
whoso shall
swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that
dwelleth therein.
And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the One who dwells in it.
Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
This man had been living in the tombs and could no longer be restrained, even with chains.
Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and
dwell there. And the final
plight of that man is worse than the first.”
And I say unto you, Make to
yourselves friends of the
mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into
everlasting habitations.
I tell you, use worldly wealth to make friends for
yourselves, so that when it is gone, they will
welcome you into eternal
dwellings.
For as a
snare shall it come on all them that
dwell on the face of the whole earth.
For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of all the earth.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him,
Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where
dwellest thou?
Jesus turned and saw them following. “What do you want?” He asked. They said to Him, “
Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are You staying?”
He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own. Instead, it is the Father dwelling in Me, performing His works.
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it
seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he
dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.
And it was known unto all the
dwellers at Jerusalem;
insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue,
Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
This became known to all who lived in Jerusalem, so they called that field in their own language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his
habitation be
desolate, and let no man
dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
“For it is written in the book of Psalms: ‘May his place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in it,’ and, ‘May another take his position.’
And there were
dwelling at Jerusalem Jews,
devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that
dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and
hearken to my words:
Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice, and addressed the crowd: “Men of
Judea and all who
dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and
listen carefully to my words.
Therefore did my heart
rejoice, and my tongue was
glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
Therefore my heart is
glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will
dwell in hope,
Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable
miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that
dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
“What shall we do with these men?” they asked. “It is clear to
everyone living in Jerusalem that a remarkable
miracle has occurred through them, and we cannot deny it.
Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.
So Abraham left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in
Haran. After his father died, God brought him out of that place and into this land where you are now living.
Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
who found favor in the sight of God and asked to provide a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.
Howbeit the most High
dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
However, the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands. As the prophet says:
For they that
dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in
condemning him.
The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in
condemning Him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath.
God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by human hands.
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to
dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their
habitation;
From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands.
And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also
dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was
magnified.
This became known to all the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, and fear came over all of them. So the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor.
And when we came to Rome, the
centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to
dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.
When we arrived in Rome, Paul was permitted to stay by himself, with a soldier to guard him.
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
In that case, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
And if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
But I see another law in my members,
warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
But I see another law at work in my body,
warring against the law of my mind and holding me
captive to the law of sin that
dwells within me.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
You, however, are
controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if
anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead
dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also
quicken your
mortal bodies by his Spirit that
dwelleth in you.
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your
mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Do you not know that you
yourselves are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit
dwells in you?
Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and
thirst, and are naked, and are
buffeted, and have no certain
dwellingplace;
To this very hour we are
hungry and
thirsty, we are poorly clothed, we are
brutally treated, we are homeless.
But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If a brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not
divorce her.
And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
And if a woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not
divorce him.
For in this we
groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
For in this tent we
groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly
dwelling,
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”
In whom ye also are builded together for an
habitation of God through the Spirit.
And in Him you too are being built together into a dwelling place for God in His Spirit.
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love,
For it pleased the Father that in him should all
fulness dwell;
For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him,
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity dwells in bodily form.
Let the word of Christ
dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and
admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Let the word of Christ richly
dwell within you as you teach and
admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with
gratitude in your hearts to God.
Who only hath immortality,
dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power
everlasting.
Amen.
He alone is
immortal and
dwells in unapproachable light. No one has ever seen Him, nor can
anyone see Him. To Him be honor and eternal dominion!
Amen.
That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.
Guard the
treasure entrusted to you, with the help of the Holy Spirit who
dwells in us.
By faith he
sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country,
dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
By faith he dwelt in the promised land as a stranger in a foreign country. He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that
dwelleth in us lusteth to
envy?
Or do you think the Scripture says without reason that the Spirit He caused to
dwell in us yearns with
envy?
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as a delicate vessel, and with honor as fellow heirs of the
gracious gift of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
(For that righteous man
dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing,
vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
(for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was
tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
But in keeping with God’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
But
whoso hath this world’s good, and
seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his
bowels of
compassion from him, how
dwelleth the love of God in him?
If
anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his
compassion from him, how can the love of God
abide in him?
And he that keepeth his commandments
dwelleth in him, and he in him. And
hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
Whoever keeps His commandments remains in God, and God in him. And by this we know that He remains in us: by the Spirit He has given us.
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us.
Hereby know we that we
dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
By this we know that we remain in Him, and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit.
Whosoever shall
confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God
dwelleth in him, and he in God.
If
anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love;
whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
For the truth’s sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
because of the truth that abides in us and will be with us
forever:
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own
habitation, he hath reserved in
everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
And the angels who did not stay within their own
domain but abandoned their proper
dwelling—these He has kept in eternal chains under darkness, bound for judgment on that great day.
I know thy works, and where thou
dwellest, even where
Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein
Antipas was my faithful
martyr, who was slain among you, where
Satan dwelleth.
I know where you live, where the throne of
Satan sits. Yet you have held fast to My name and have not denied your faith in Me, even in the day when My faithful witness
Antipas was killed among you, where
Satan dwells.
Because thou hast kept the word of my
patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of
temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that
dwell upon the earth.
Because you have kept My command to
persevere, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who
dwell on the earth.
And they
cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true,
dost thou not judge and
avenge our blood on them that
dwell on the earth?
And they
cried out in a loud voice, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You
avenge our blood and judge those who
dwell upon the earth?”
Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
For this reason, they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple; and the One seated on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.
And I
beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice,
Woe,
woe,
woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the
trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
And as I observed, I heard an eagle flying overhead, calling in a loud voice, “
Woe!
Woe!
Woe to those who
dwell on the earth, because of the
trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the remaining three angels!”
And they that
dwell upon the earth shall
rejoice over them, and make
merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets
tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
And those who
dwell on the earth will
gloat over them, and will
celebrate and send one another gifts, because these two prophets had
tormented them.
Therefore
rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that
dwell in them.
Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Therefore
rejoice, O heavens, and you who
dwell in them! But
woe to the earth and the sea; with great
fury the devil has come down to you, knowing he has only a short time.”
And he opened his mouth in
blasphemy against God, to
blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that
dwell in heaven.
And the beast opened its mouth to speak blasphemies against God and to
slander His name and His tabernacle—those who
dwell in heaven.
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
And all who dwell on the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written from the foundation of the world in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb who was slain.
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which
dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was
healed.
And this beast exercised all the authority of the first beast and caused the earth and those who
dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose
mortal wound had been
healed.
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
Because of the signs it was given to perform on behalf of the first beast, it
deceived those who
dwell on the earth, telling them to make an image to the beast that had been wounded by the sword and yet had lived.
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the
everlasting gospel to
preach unto them that
dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Then I saw another angel flying overhead, with the eternal gospel to
proclaim to those who
dwell on the earth—to every nation and tribe and tongue and people.
With whom the kings of the earth have committed
fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made
drunk with the wine of her
fornication.
The kings of the earth were immoral with her, and those who
dwell on the earth were
intoxicated with the wine of her immorality.”
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall
ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into
perdition: and they that
dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
The beast that you saw—it was, and now is no more, but is about to come up out of the
Abyss and go to its destruction. And those who
dwell on the earth whose names were not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world will
marvel when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet will be.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.
Yea, all the kings of Israel held not such a
passover as Josias, and the priests, and the Levites, and the Jews, held with all Israel that were found
dwelling at Jerusalem.
If therefore there be any of you that are of his people, let the Lord, even his Lord, be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem that is in
Judea, and build the house of the Lord of Israel: for he is the Lord that
dwelleth in Jerusalem.
Whosoever then
dwell in the places about, let them help him, those, I say, that are his neighbours, with gold, and with silver,
But in the time of Artexerxes king of the Persians Belemus, and Mithridates, and Tabellius, and Rathumus, and Beeltethmus, and Semellius the secretary, with others that were in commission with them,
dwelling in Samaria and other places, wrote unto him against them that dwelt in
Judea and Jerusalem these letters following;
Then the king wrote back again to Rathumus the storywriter, to Beeltethmus, to Semellius the
scribe, and to the rest that were in commission, and
dwellers in Samaria and Syria and Phenice, after this manner;
Weigh thou therefore our wickedness now in the balance, and their’s also that
dwell the world; and so shall thy name no where be found but in Israel.
Or when was it that they which
dwell upon the earth have not
sinned in thy sight? or what people have so kept thy commandments?
And he said unto me, If I should ask thee how great
dwellings are in the midst of the sea, or how many springs are in the beginning of the deep, or how many springs are above the
firmament, or which are the outgoings of
paradise:
For like as the ground is given unto the wood, and the sea to his floods: even so they that dwell upon the earth may understand nothing but that which is upon the earth: and he that dwelleth above the heavens may only understand the things that are above the height of the heavens.
And for our sakes
peradventure it is that the floors of the righteous are not filled, because of the sins of them that
dwell upon the earth.
Nevertheless as coming the
tokens, behold, the days shall come, that they which
dwell upon earth shall be taken in a great number, and the way of truth shall be hidden, and the land shall be barren of faith.
And even he shall rule, whom they look not for that dwell upon the earth, and the fowls shall take their flight away together:
And I said, O Lord that bearest rule, who may know these things, but he that hath not his dwelling with men?
