haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
God intended that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.
After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through
Macedonia and
Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.
After these things had
happened, Paul resolved in the Spirit to go to Jerusalem after he had passed through
Macedonia and
Achaia. “After I have been there,” he said, “I must see Rome as well.”
And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall
befall me there:
And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there.
I think myself
happy, king
Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things
whereof I am accused of the Jews:
“King
Agrippa, I consider myself fortunate to stand before you
today to defend myself against all the accusations of the Jews,
Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
But I have had God’s help to this day, and I stand here to
testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would
happen:
Wherefore, sirs, be of good
cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
So take courage, men, for I believe God that it will happen just as He told me.
Howbeit they looked when he should have
swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no
harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
The islanders were expecting him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.
So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were
healed:
After this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured as well.
And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
and, “It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this
mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is
happened to Israel, until the
fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
I do not want you to be ignorant of this
mystery, brothers, so that you will not be
conceited: A
hardening in part has come to Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
Hast thou faith? have it to
thyself before God.
Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
Keep your belief about such matters between
yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not
condemn himself by what he approves.
But she is
happier if she so
abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.
In my judgment, however, she is happier if she remains as she is. And I think that I too have the Spirit of God.
Now all these things
happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our
admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Now these things
happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the
fulfillment of the ages has come.
Otherwise, if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—to say nothing of you—would be
ashamed of having been so
confident.
But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which
happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the
furtherance of the gospel;
Now I want you to know, brothers, that my circumstances have actually served to advance the gospel.

So I hope to send him as soon as I see what happens with me.

And none of this happened without an oath. For others became priests without an oath,
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the
morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
You do not even know what will
happen tomorrow! What is your life? You are a
mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Behold, we count them
happy which
endure. Ye have heard of the
patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very
pitiful, and of tender mercy.
See how blessed we consider those who have
persevered. You have heard of Job’s
perseverance and have seen the outcome from the Lord. The Lord is full of
compassion and mercy.
But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be
shaken.”
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the
fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing
happened unto you:
Beloved, do not be surprised at the
fiery trial that has come upon you, as though something strange were
happening to you.
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ,
happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is
glorified.
If you are
insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
But it is
happened unto them according to the true
proverb, The dog is turned to his own
vomit again; and the
sow that was washed to her
wallowing in the
mire.
Of them the
proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its
vomit,” and, “A
sow that is washed goes back to her
wallowing in the mud.”
Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be
hereafter;
Therefore write down the things you have seen, and the things that are, and the things that will happen after this.
After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a
trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up
hither, and I will
shew thee things which must be
hereafter.
After this I looked and saw a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had previously heard speak to me like a
trumpet was saying, “Come up here, and I will show you what must
happen after these things.”

happened, that when they that dwelt upon the earth began to multiply, and had
gotten them many children, and were a great people, they began again to be more ungodly than the first.

happened, that when I had heard it I stood up upon my feet, and
hearkened, and, behold, there was a voice that spake, and the sound of it was like the sound of many waters.
That thing also which was sown, or cast therein, or received,
doth perish, and remaineth not with us: but with us it hath not
happened so.

foolish woman above all other, seest thou not our
mourning, and what
happeneth unto us?

And it happened, that when it reigned, the end of it came also, like as the first, so that it appeared no more.
Now understand I the things that are laid up in the latter days, which shall happen unto them, and to those that are left behind.
Yet is it easier for him that is in danger to come into these things, than to pass away as a cloud out of the world, and not to see the things that happen in the last days. And he answered unto me, and said,
And the time shall be when these things shall come to pass, and the signs shall happen which I shewed thee before, and then shall my Son be declared, whom thou sawest as a man ascending.
For yet greater evils than those which thou hast seen
happen shall be done
hereafter.
For thou hast
scourged, and hast taken
pity on me: for, behold, I see my son Tobias. And his son went in
rejoicing, and told his father the great things that had
happened to him in Media.

Mesopotamia of Syria, when he kept the sheep of

For the
destiny,
whereof they were worthy, drew them unto this end, and made them
forget the things that had already
happened, that they might fulfil the punishment which was wanting to their torments:
Say not, I have
sinned, and what
harm hath
happened unto me? for the Lord is
longsuffering, he will in no wise let thee go.
And if any evil
happen unto me by him, every one that heareth it will
beware of him.
There be nine things which I have judged in mine heart to be happy, and the tenth I will utter with my tongue: A man that hath joy of his children; and he that liveth to see the fall of his enemy:
There shall no evil
happen unto him that feareth the Lord; but in
temptation even again he will deliver him.
A wise man shall be filled with blessing; and all they that see him shall count him happy.

happen unto all flesh, both man and beast, and that is

How
happeneth it Israel, that thou art in thine enemies’ land, that thou art
waxen old in a strange country, that thou art
defiled with the dead,
O Israel, happy are we: for things that are pleasing to God are made known unto us.

happened, after that Alexander son of Philip, the

partaker with them of the
adversity that
happened to the nation, did afterward communicate in the benefits sent from the Lord: and as it was
forsaken in the wrath of the
Almighty, so again, the great Lord being
reconciled, it was set up with all glory.
Now
Antiochus, thinking himself
despised, and
suspecting it to be a reproachful speech, whilst the youngest was yet alive, did not only
exhort him by words, but also
assured him with oaths, that he would make him both a rich and a
happy man, if he would turn from the laws of his fathers; and that also he would take him for his friend, and trust him with affairs.
For he had entered the city called
Persepolis, and went about to
rob the temple, and to hold the city;
