buy the land from
Naomi and also from
Ruth the
Moabitess, you must also acquire the widow of the deceased in order to raise up the name of the deceased on his
inheritance.”
Moreover
Ruth the
Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his
inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.
Moreover, I have acquired

inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.

Now therefore, I pray thee, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD have
stirred thee up against me, let him accept an offering: but if they be the children of men,
cursed be they before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from
abiding in the
inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve other gods.
Now please, may my lord the king hear the words of his servant: If the LORD has
stirred you up against me, then may He accept an offering. But if men have done it, may they be
cursed in the presence of the LORD! For
today they have driven me away from sharing in the
inheritance of the LORD, saying, ‘Go, serve other gods.’

inheritance.’

inheritance in the son of
Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.
Now a worthless man named

blew the ram’s horn and
shouted: “We have no share in David, no
inheritance in
Jesse’s son. Every man to his tent, O Israel!”

wilt thou
swallow up the
inheritance of the LORD?

swallow up the LORD’s
inheritance?”

amends so that you may
bless the

forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an
inheritance.

forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, so that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk. May You send rain on the land that You gave Your people as an
inheritance.
For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:
For they are Your people and Your inheritance; You brought them out of Egypt, out of the furnace for iron.
For thou
didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine
inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.
For You, O Lord GOD, as Your inheritance, have set them apart from all the peoples of the earth, as You spoke through Your servant Moses when You brought our fathers out of Egypt.”

When all Israel saw that the king had refused to
listen to them, they answered the king: “What portion do we have in David, and what
inheritance in the son of
Jesse? To your tents, O Israel! Look now to your own house, O David!” So the Israelites went home,
And

Ahab, The LORD
forbid it me, that I should give the
inheritance of my fathers unto thee.

Naboth replied, “The LORD
forbid that I should give you the
inheritance of my fathers.”
And
Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which
Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the
inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.
So
Ahab went to his palace,
sullen and
angry because
Naboth the Jezreelite had told him, “I will not give you the
inheritance of my fathers.” He lay down on his bed, turned his face away, and refused to eat.
And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that
Elijah said unto
Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And
Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

Elijah said to
Elisha, “Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken away from you?” “Please, let me
inherit a double portion of your spirit,”
Elisha replied.
And I will
forsake the
remnant of mine
inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a
spoil to all their enemies;
So I will
forsake the
remnant of My
inheritance and deliver them into the hands of their enemies. And they will become
plunder and
spoil to all their enemies,
Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of
Canaan, the lot of your
inheritance;
‘I will give you the land of
Canaan as the portion of your
inheritance.’
Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the
audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an
inheritance for your children after you for ever.
So now in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the LORD, and in the hearing of our God, keep and seek out all the commandments of the LORD your God, so that you may possess this good land and leave it as an
inheritance to your descendants
forever.
Then hear thou from heaven, and
forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an
inheritance.
then may You hear from heaven and
forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, so that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk. May You send rain on the land that You gave Your people as an
inheritance.
And when all Israel saw that the king would not
hearken unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and we have none
inheritance in the son of
Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel: and now, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel went to their tents.
When all Israel saw that the king had refused to
listen to them, they answered the king: “What portion do we have in David, and what
inheritance in the son of
Jesse? To your tents, O Israel! Look now to your own house, O David!” So all the Israelites went home,
Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
See how they are repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession that You gave us as an inheritance.
Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.
Now, therefore, do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons or take their daughters for your sons. Never seek their peace or prosperity, so that you may be strong and may eat the good things of the land, leaving it as an
inheritance to your sons
forever.’

This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the
heritage appointed unto him by God.
This is the wicked man’s portion from God, the inheritance God has appointed him.”

inheritance of the
Almighty from on high?
And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
No women as beautiful as Job’s daughters could be found in all the land, and their father granted them an inheritance among their brothers.
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine
inheritance, and the
uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Ask Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance, the ends of the earth Your possession.
The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places;
yea, I have a goodly
heritage.
The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.
His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
His soul will dwell in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.
Save thy people, and
bless thine
inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His inheritance!
For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
For the evildoers will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.
But the
meek shall
inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
But the
meek will
inherit the land and delight in abundant prosperity.
The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
The LORD knows the days of the
blameless, and their
inheritance will last
forever.
For such as be blessed of him shall
inherit the earth; and they that be
cursed of him shall be cut off.
Surely those He blesses will
inherit the land, but the
cursed will be destroyed.
The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
The righteous will
inherit the land and dwell in it
forever.
Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall
exalt thee to
inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
Wait for the LORD and keep His way, and He will raise you up to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
He shall choose our
inheritance for us, the
excellency of Jacob whom he loved.
Selah.
He chooses our
inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom He loves.
Selah For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the
heritage of those that fear thy name.
For You have heard my vows, O God; You have given me the inheritance reserved for those who fear Your name.
You sent abundant rain, O God; You refreshed Your
weary inheritance.
The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
The descendants of His servants will inherit it, and those who love His name will settle in it.
Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine
inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount
Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
Remember Your congregation, which You purchased long ago and redeemed as the tribe of Your
inheritance— Mount
Zion where You dwell.
He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
He drove out nations before them and
apportioned their
inheritance; He settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.

wroth with his
inheritance.

heritage.

inheritance.
O God, the heathen are come into thine
inheritance; thy holy temple have they
defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.
The nations, O God, have invaded Your
inheritance; they have
defiled Your holy temple and reduced Jerusalem to
rubble.
Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
Arise, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are Your inheritance.
For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he
forsake his
inheritance.
Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of
Canaan, the lot of your
inheritance:
“I will give you the land of
Canaan as the portion of your
inheritance.”
And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
He gave them the lands of the nations, that they might inherit the fruit of others’ labor,
That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may
rejoice in the
gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine
inheritance.
that I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones, and
rejoice in the
gladness of Your nation, and give glory with Your
inheritance.
So the anger of the LORD burned against His people, and He
abhorred His own
inheritance.
