And he said, Draw not
nigh hither: put off thy
shoes from off thy feet, for the place
whereon thou standest is holy ground.
“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”
And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins
girded, your
shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in
haste: it is the LORD’S
passover.
This is how you are to eat it: You must be fully dressed for travel, with your
sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. You are to eat in
haste; it is the LORD’s
Passover.
And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not
waxen old upon you, and thy
shoe is not
waxen old upon thy foot.
For forty years I led you in the wilderness, yet your clothes and sandals did not wear out.
And the captain of the LORD’S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy
shoe from off thy foot; for the place
whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

And old
shoes and
clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and
mouldy.

patched sandals on their feet and
threadbare clothing on their bodies, and their whole supply of bread was dry and
moldy.
And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our
shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.
These wineskins were new when we filled them, but look, they are

sandals are worn out from our very long journey.”
Moreover thou knowest also what
Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto
Abner the son of
Ner, and unto
Amasa the son of Jether, whom he
slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his
girdle that was about his loins, and in his
shoes that were on his feet.
Moreover, you know what
Joab son of Zeruiah did to me—what he did to
Abner son of
Ner and
Amasa son of Jether, the two commanders of the armies of Israel. He killed them in peacetime to
avenge the blood of war. He
stained with the blood of war the belt around his
waist and the
sandals on his feet.
And the men which were expressed by name rose up, and took the
captives, and with the
spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and
arrayed them, and
shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and
anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon
asses, and brought them to
Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brethren: then they returned to Samaria.
Then the men who were designated by name arose, took charge of the
captives, and provided from the
plunder clothing for the naked. They clothed them, gave them
sandals and food and drink,
anointed their wounds, and put all the feeble on
donkeys. So they brought them to
Jericho, the City of Palms, to their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.

dryshod.

scorching wind He will
sweep His hand over the Euphrates. He will split it into seven streams for men to cross with dry
sandals.
At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the
sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy
shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and
barefoot.

sackcloth from your
waist and the
sandals from your feet.” And Isaiah did so, walking around naked and
barefoot.
I clothed thee also with
broidered work, and
shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I
girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.
I clothed you in
embroidered cloth and gave you
sandals of fine leather. I
wrapped you in fine linen and covered you with silk.
Forbear to cry, make no
mourning for the dead, bind the
tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy
shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.
Groan quietly; do not
mourn for the dead. Put on your
turban and
strap your
sandals on your feet; do not cover your lips or eat the bread of mourners.”
And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your
shoes upon your feet: ye shall not
mourn nor
weep; but ye shall pine away for your
iniquities, and
mourn one toward another.
Your turbans will remain on your heads and your
sandals on your feet. You will not
mourn or
weep, but you will waste away because of your sins, and you will
groan among
yourselves.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of
shoes;
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Israel, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they sell the righteous for silver and the
needy for a pair of
sandals.
That we may
buy the poor for silver, and the
needy for a pair of
shoes;
yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?
Let us
buy the poor with silver and the
needy for a pair of
sandals, selling even the
chaff with the wheat!”
I indeed
baptize you with water unto
repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose
shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall
baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
I
baptize you with water for
repentance, but after me will come One more powerful than I, whose
sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will
baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither
shoes, nor yet
staves: for the

latchet of whose
shoes I am not worthy to

sandals I am not worthy to
stoop down and
untie.
But be
shod with
sandals; and not put on two coats.

sandals, but not a second
tunic.

baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the
latchet of whose
shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall
baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

baptize you with water, but One more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose
sandals I am not worthy to
untie. He will
baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and
shoes on his feet:

robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and
sandals on his feet.
And he said unto them, When I sent you without
purse, and
scrip, and
shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

purse or

sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered.
He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose
shoe’s
latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
He is the One who comes after me, the straps of whose
sandals I am not worthy to
untie.”

shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

sandals I am not worthy to
untie.’
