weighed.

Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?
“Should this stream of words go unanswered and such a speaker be
vindicated?
Will ye speak wickedly for God? and
talk deceitfully for him?
Will you speak wickedly on God’s behalf or speak
deceitfully for Him?
Should he reason with unprofitable
talk? or with speeches
wherewith he can do no good?
Should he
argue with useless words or speeches that serve no purpose?
How long will it be
ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.
“How long until you end these speeches? Show some sense, and then we can talk.
Behold, all ye
yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?
Surely all of you have seen it for
yourselves. Why then do you keep up this empty
talk?
The princes
refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.
The princes
refrained from speaking and covered their mouths with their hands.
The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.
For they
persecute him whom thou hast
smitten; and they
talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.
For they
persecute the one You struck and recount the pain of those You wounded.
My tongue also shall
talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my
hurt.
My tongue will indeed
proclaim Your righteousness all day long, for those who seek my
harm are disgraced and confounded.
I will
meditate also of all thy work, and
talk of thy doings.
I will
reflect on all You have done and
ponder Your mighty deeds.
Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him:
talk ye of all his
wondrous works.
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; tell of all His wonders.
Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I
talk of thy
wondrous works.
Make clear to me the way of Your precepts; then I will
meditate on Your wonders.
They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;
They will tell of the glory of Your kingdom and speak of Your might,
When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.
When you walk, they will guide you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; when you
awake, they will speak to you.
In all labour there is profit: but the
talk of the lips tendeth only to
penury.
There is profit in all labor, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
for their hearts
devise violence, and their lips declare trouble.
The beginning of his talk is folly, and the end of his speech is evil madness.
Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry out, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger and
malicious talk,
Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I
plead with thee: yet let me
talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore
doth the way of the wicked
prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very
treacherously?
Righteous are You, O LORD, when I
plead before You. Yet about Your judgments I wish to
contend with You: Why does the way of the wicked
prosper? Why do all the faithless live at ease?
But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee:
If the officials hear that I have spoken with you, and they come and demand of you, ‘Tell us what you said to the king and what he said to you; do not hide it from us, or we will kill you,’
And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.

Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.
As for you, son of man, your people are talking about you near the city walls and in the doorways of their houses. One speaks to another, each saying to his brother, ‘Come and hear the message that has come from the LORD!’
Therefore
prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you
desolate, and
swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of
talkers, and are an
infamy of the people:
therefore
prophesy and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Because they have made you
desolate and have
trampled you on every side, so that you became a possession of the rest of the nations and were taken up in
slander by the lips of their
talkers,
And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

For how can the servant of this my lord
talk with this my lord? for as for me,
straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
How can I, your servant, speak with you, my lord? Now I have no strength, nor is any breath left in me.”
Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that
talked with me said unto me, I will
shew thee what these be.
“What are these, my lord?” I asked. And the angel who was speaking with me replied, “I will show you what they are.”
And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
So the LORD spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who was speaking with me.
And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
So I asked the angel who was speaking with me, “What are these?” And he told me, “These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”
And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
Then the angel who was speaking with me went out, and another angel came out to meet him
And the angel that
talked with me came again, and
waked me, as a man that is
wakened out of his sleep,
Then the angel who was speaking with me returned and
woke me, as a man is
awakened from his sleep.
So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
“What are these, my lord?” I asked the angel who was speaking with me.
Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
“Do you not know what they are?” replied the angel. “No, my lord,” I answered.
Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.
Then the angel who was speaking with me came forward and told me, “Now lift up your eyes and see what is approaching.”
Then said I to the angel that
talked with me,
Whither do these bear the
ephah?
“Where are they taking the
basket?” I asked the angel who was speaking with me.
Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?
So I inquired of the angel who was speaking with me, “What are these, my lord?”

And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
Suddenly Moses and
Elijah appeared before them,
talking with Jesus.
But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
But he denied it before them all: “I do not know what you are talking about.”
For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he
talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good
cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
for they all saw Him and were
terrified. But Jesus spoke up at once: “Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”
And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
And
Elijah and Moses appeared before them,
talking with Jesus.
But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the
porch; and the
cock crew.
But he denied it. “I do not know or even understand what you are
talking about,” he said. Then he went out to the
gateway, and the
rooster crowed.
And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.

Elijah, began

“Man, I do not know what you are
talking about,” Peter replied. While he was still speaking, the

They were talking with each other about everything that had happened.
And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
And as they
talked and
deliberated, Jesus Himself came up and walked along with them.
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
And upon this came his disciples, and
marvelled that he
talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why
talkest thou with her?
Just then His disciples returned and were surprised that He was speaking with a woman. But no one asked Him, “What do You want from her?” or “Why are You talking with her?”
And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
“You have already seen Him,” Jesus answered. “He is the One speaking with you.”
Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
They thought that Jesus was
talking about actual sleep, but He was speaking about the death of
Lazarus.

beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
So Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus which one He was talking about.
Hereafter I will not
talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming, and he has no claim on Me.
And the
eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
“Tell me,” said the
eunuch, “who is the prophet
talking about, himself or someone else?”
And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to
slay him.
He
talked and
debated with the
Grecian Jews, but they tried to kill him.
And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
As Peter talked with him, he went inside and found many people gathered together.
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the
morrow; and continued his speech until
midnight.
On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Since Paul was ready to leave the next day, he
talked to them and kept on speaking until
midnight.
And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third
loft, and was taken up dead.
And a certain young man named Eutychus, seated in the window, was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul
talked on and on. When he was sound
asleep, he fell from the third story and was
picked up dead.
When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
Then Paul went back
upstairs, broke bread, and
ate. And after speaking until
daybreak, he departed.
He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.
At the same time, he was hoping that Paul would offer him a
bribe. So he sent for Paul frequently and
talked with him.
And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.
On their way out, they said to one another, “This man has done nothing worthy of death or imprisonment.”
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to Him who formed it, “Why did You make me like this?”
For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own
belly; and by good words and fair speeches
deceive the hearts of the simple.
For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth
talk and
flattery they
deceive the hearts of the
naive.
For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away
childish things.
When I was a child, I
talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside
childish ways.
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of
edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Let no
unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who
listen.
Some have
strayed from these ways and turned aside to empty
talk.
He is proud, knowing nothing, but
doting about questions and strifes of words,
whereof cometh
envy,
strife, railings, evil surmisings,
