Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:
Now
listen to me; I will give you some
advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people’s representative before God and bring their causes to Him.
If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to
endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.
If you follow this
advice and God so directs you, then you will be able to
endure, and all these people can go home in peace.”
And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt unto this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.
And
everyone who saw it said, “Nothing like this has been seen or done from the day the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt until this day. Think it over, take counsel, and speak up!”
Behold, ye are all children of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.
Behold, all you Israelites, give your
advice and

And blessed be thy
advice, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from
avenging myself with mine own hand.
And Hushai said unto
Absalom, The counsel that
Ahithophel hath given is not good at this time.
Hushai replied, “This time the
advice of
Ahithophel is not sound.”
And
Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of
Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of
Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon
Absalom.

And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye
despise us, that our
advice should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.
“We have ten shares in the king,” answered the men of Israel, “so we have more claim to David than you. Why then do you
despise us? Were we not the first to speak of restoring our king?” But the men of Judah pressed even harder than the men of Israel.
But he
forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:

calves and said to the people, “Going up to Jerusalem is too much for you. Here, O Israel, are your gods, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”

He asked them, “What message do you
advise that we send back to these people who have spoken to me, saying, ‘
Lighten the yoke your father put on us’?”

thereto: my father
chastised you with whips, but I will
chastise you with scorpions.

advised, saying, “Whereas my father made your yoke heavy, I will add to your yoke. Whereas my father

scourge you with scorpions.”
And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Art thou made of the king’s counsel?

forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not
hearkened unto my counsel.
While he was still speaking, the king asked, “Have we made you the

Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become
brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
The princes of Zoan are mere fools; Pharaoh’s wise counselors give senseless advice. How can you say to Pharaoh, “I am one of the wise, a son of eastern kings”?
That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to

advice, you will not
listen to me.”
Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine
iniquities by
shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a
lengthening of thy tranquility.
Therefore, may my
advice be pleasing to you, O king. Break away from your sins by doing what is right, and from your
iniquities by showing mercy to the
oppressed. Perhaps there will be an extension of your prosperity.”

hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from
Crete, and to have gained this
harm and loss.
After the men had gone a long time without food, Paul stood up among them and said, “Men, you should have followed my
advice not to sail from
Crete. Then you would have
averted this
disaster and loss.
And
herein I give my
advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.
And this is my opinion about what is helpful for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give, but even to have such a desire.
Give ear, my son, receive my advice, and refuse not my counsel,
Do nothing without
advice; and when thou hast once done,
repent not.
