That be far from thee to do after this manner, to
slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
Far be it from You to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Will not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?”
And there went up with him both
chariots and
horsemen: and it was a very great company.
Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man
borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.
Now
announce to the people that men and women
alike should ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold.”
Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they
defile not their camps, in the midst
whereof I dwell.
You must send away male and female
alike; send them outside the camp so they will not
defile their camp, where I dwell among them.”
Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.
Show no
partiality in judging; hear both small and great
alike. Do not be
intimidated by
anyone, for judgment belongs to God. And bring to me any case too difficult for you, and I will hear it.”
Even as the
roebuck and the
hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat of them
alike.
Indeed, you may eat it as you would eat a
gazelle or deer; both the
ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat it.
Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it
alike, as the
roebuck, and as the
hart.
Eat it within your gates; both the
ceremonially unclean and clean may eat it as they would a
gazelle or a deer.
And all Israel, and their elders, and officers, and their judges, stood on this side the ark and on that side before the priests the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, as well the stranger, as he that was born among them; half of them over against mount
Gerizim, and half of them over against mount
Ebal; as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should
bless the people of Israel.
All Israel, foreigners and citizens
alike, with their elders, officers, and judges, stood on both sides of the ark of the covenant of the LORD facing the
Levitical priests who carried it. Half of the people stood in front of Mount
Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount
Ebal, as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded earlier, to
bless the people of Israel.
For who will
hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part
alike.
Who will
listen to your proposal? The share of the one who went to battle will
match the share of the one who stayed with the supplies. They will share
alike.”
These likewise cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and
Zadok, and
Ahimelech, and the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites, even the principal fathers over against their younger brethren.
As their brothers the descendants of Aaron did, they also cast lots in the presence of King David and of
Zadok,
Ahimelech, and the heads of the families of the priests and Levites—the family heads and their younger brothers
alike.
And they cast lots, ward against ward, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.
They cast lots for their duties, young and old alike, teacher as well as pupil.
And they cast lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for every gate.
They cast lots for each gate, according to their families, young and old alike.
And next him were
Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their set office, to give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small:
Under his authority,
Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah faithfully distributed portions to their fellow priests in their cities, according to their divisions, old and young
alike.
They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
But together they lie down in the dust, and worms cover them both.
He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
He shapes the hearts of each; He considers all their works.
Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
both low and high, rich and poor alike.
He will
bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.
He will
bless those who fear the LORD— small and great
alike.
Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both
alike to thee.
even the darkness is not dark to You, but the night shines like the day, for darkness is as light to You.
Differing weights and unequal measures— both are
detestable to the LORD.
All things come
alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the
sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
It is the same for all: There is a common fate for the righteous and the wicked, for the good and the bad, for the clean and the unclean, for the one who sacrifices and the one who does not. As it is for the good, so it is for the
sinner; as it is for the one who makes a
vow, so it is for the one who refuses to take a
vow.
In the morning
sow thy seed, and in the evening
withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall
prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be
alike good.
Sow your seed in the morning, and do not rest your hands in the evening, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or if both will equally
prosper.
So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians
captives, young and old, naked and
barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
so the king of Assyria will lead away the
captives of Egypt and the exiles of
Cush, young and old
alike, naked and
barefoot, with bared buttocks—to Egypt’s shame.
And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the
maid, so with her
mistress; as with the
buyer, so with the seller; as with the
lender, so with the
borrower; as with the taker of
usury, so with the giver of
usury to him.
To whom will ye
liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
To whom will you
liken Me or count Me equal? To whom will you compare Me, that we should be
alike?
Therefore I am full of the
fury of the LORD; I am
weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.
But I am full of the LORD’s wrath; I am
tired of holding it back. “Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the young men gathered together. For both husband and wife will be captured, the old and the very old
alike.
Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: “I will lay
stumbling blocks before this people; fathers and sons
alike will be
staggered; friends and neighbors will perish.”
And I will
dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not
pity, nor
spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
I will
smash them against one another, fathers and sons
alike, declares the LORD. I will allow no mercy or
pity or
compassion to keep Me from destroying them.’”
And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
And on that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it toward the Eastern Sea and the other half toward the Western Sea, in summer and winter alike.

synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
Every Sabbath he reasoned in the
synagogue, trying to
persuade Jews and Greeks
alike.
And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
This continued for two years, so that
everyone who lived in the province of Asia, Jews and Greeks
alike, heard the word of the Lord.
Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks,
repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
But I have had God’s help to this day, and I stand here to
testify to small and great
alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen:
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
What then? Are we any better? Not at all. For we have already made the charge that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin.
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
One person regards a certain day above the others, while someone else considers every day
alike. Each one should be fully
convinced in his own mind.
And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you who serve Him, and those who fear Him, small and great alike!”
For he which is Lord over all shall fear no man’s person, neither shall he stand in
awe of any man’s greatness: for he hath made the small and great, and careth for all
alike.
Whether they were absent or present, they were
vexed alike.
