And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over
all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the
livestock, and over
all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”
And God said, Behold, I have given you every
herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of
all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit contains seed. They will be yours for food.
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
And God looked upon all that He had made, and indeed, it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in
all their vast
array.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And by the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work.
And God blessed the seventh day, and
sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from
all his work which God created and made.
Then God blessed the seventh day and
sanctified it, because on that day He rested from
all the work of creation that He had accomplished.
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
The man gave names to
all the
livestock, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art
cursed above
all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy
belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat
all the days of thy life:
So the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this,
cursed are you above
all livestock and every beast of the field! On your
belly will you go, and dust you will eat,
all the days of your life.
And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast
hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it:
cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it
all the days of thy life;
And to Adam He said: “Because you have
listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat,
cursed is the ground because of you; through
toil you will eat of it
all the days of your life.
And Adam called his wife’s name
Eve; because she was the mother of
all living.
And Adam named his wife
Eve, because she would be the mother of
all the living.
And his brother’s name was
Jubal: he was the father of
all such as handle the
harp and organ.
And his brother’s name was
Jubal; he was the father of
all who play the
harp and
flute.
And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
So Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.
And
all the days of
Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
So
Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.
And
all the days of
Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.
So Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.
And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.
So Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.

all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred
ninety and five years: and he died.

So
Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.
And
all the days of
Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.
So
Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.
That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they took as wives whomever they chose.
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time.
And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
And God looked upon the earth and saw that it was corrupt; for all living creatures on the earth had corrupted their ways.
And God said unto
Noah, The end of
all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Then God said to
Noah, “The end of
all living creatures has come before Me, because through them the earth is full of violence. Now behold, I will destroy both them and the earth.
And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
And behold, I will bring floodwaters upon the earth to destroy every creature under the heavens that has the breath of life. Everything on the earth will perish.
And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
And you are to bring two of every living creature into the ark—male and female—to keep them alive with you.
And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
You are also to take for
yourself every kind of food that is eaten and gather it as food for
yourselves and for the animals.”
Thus did
Noah; according to
all that God commanded him, so did he.
So
Noah did everything precisely as God had commanded him.
And the LORD said unto
Noah, Come thou and
all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
Then the LORD said to
Noah, “Go into the ark, you and
all your family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.
Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
and seven pairs of every kind of bird of the air, male and female, to preserve their offspring on the face of all the earth.
And
Noah did according unto
all that the LORD commanded him.
And
Noah did
all that the LORD had commanded him.
In the six
hundredth year of
Noah’s life, in the second month, the
seventeenth day of the month, the same day were
all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
In the six
hundredth year of
Noah’s life, on the
seventeenth day of the second month,
all the fountains of the great deep
burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.
They, and every beast after his kind, and
all the cattle after their kind, and every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.
they and every kind of wild animal,
livestock,
crawling creature, bird, and winged creature.
And they went in unto
Noah into the ark, two and two of
all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
They came to
Noah to enter the ark, two by two of every creature with the breath of life.
And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.
And they entered, the male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded
Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.
And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
Finally, the waters completely
inundated the earth, so that
all the high mountains under
all the heavens were covered.
And
all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
And every living thing that moved upon the earth perished—birds,
livestock, animals, every creature that swarms upon the earth, and
all mankind.
All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
Of all that was on dry land, everything that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.
And God remembered
Noah, and every living thing, and
all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;
But God remembered
Noah and
all the animals and
livestock that were with him in the ark. And God sent a wind over the earth, and the waters began to
subside.
But the
dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
But the
dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned to him in the ark, because the waters were still covering the surface of
all the earth. So he reached out his hand and brought her back inside the ark.
Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of
all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
Bring out
all the living creatures that are with you—birds,
livestock, and everything that crawls upon the ground—so that they can spread out over the earth and be fruitful and multiply upon it.”
And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again
curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again
smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
When the LORD smelled the pleasing
aroma, He said in His heart, “Never again will I
curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from his youth. And never again will I destroy
all living creatures as I have done.
And the fear of you and the
dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon
all that moveth upon the earth, and upon
all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
The fear and
dread of you will fall on every living creature on the earth, every bird of the air, every creature that crawls on the ground, and
all the fish of the sea. They are delivered into your hand.
Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green
herb have I given you
all things.
Everything that lives and moves will be food for you; just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you all things.
And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.
and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the
livestock, and every beast of the earth—every living thing that came out of the ark.
And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
And I establish My covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
And God said, This is the
token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between Me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:
And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
I will remember My covenant between Me and you and every living creature of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the
everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of
all flesh that is upon the earth.
And whenever the
rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the
everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of every kind that is on the earth.”
And God said unto
Noah, This is the
token of the covenant, which I have established between me and
all flesh that is upon the earth.
So God said to
Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between Me and every creature on the earth.”
And
all the days of
Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.
So
Noah lived a total of 950 years, and then he died.
Unto
Shem also, the father of
all the children of Eber, the brother of
Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.
And
Ophir, and
Havilah, and Jobab:
all these were the sons of Joktan.
These are the families of the sons of
Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
All these are the clans of
Noah’s sons, according to their generations and nations. From these the nations of the earth spread out after the flood.
And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
“Come,” they said, “let us build for ourselves a city with a tower that reaches to the heavens, that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of all the earth.”
And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
And the LORD said, “If they have begun to do this as one people speaking the same language, then nothing they
devise will be beyond them.
So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
So the LORD scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they stopped building the city.
Therefore is the name of it called
Babel; because the LORD did there
confound the language of
all the earth: and from thence did the LORD
scatter them abroad upon the face of
all the earth.
That is why it is called
Babel, for there the LORD confused the language of the whole world, and from that place the LORD scattered them over the face of
all the earth.
And I will
bless them that
bless thee, and
curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall
all families of the earth be blessed.
I will
bless those who
bless you and
curse those who
curse you; and
all the families of the earth will be blessed through you.”
And
Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and
all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had
gotten in
Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of
Canaan; and into the land of
Canaan they came.
And
Abram took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, and
all the possessions and people they had acquired in
Haran, and set out for the land of
Canaan. When they came to the land of
Canaan,
And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.
Then Pharaoh gave his men orders concerning
Abram, and they sent him away with his wife and
all his possessions.
And
Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and
all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.
So
Abram went up out of Egypt into the Negev—he and his wife and
all his possessions—and Lot was with him.
And
Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no
strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.
So
Abram said to Lot, “Please let there be no
contention between you and me, or between your herdsmen and my herdsmen. After
all, we are brothers.
And Lot lifted up his eyes, and
beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed
Sodom and
Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.
And Lot looked out and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan,
all the way to Zoar, was well watered like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the LORD destroyed
Sodom and
Gomorrah.)
Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.
So Lot chose the whole plain of the Jordan for himself and set out toward the east. And
Abram and Lot parted company.
For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
for
all the land that you see, I will give to you and your offspring
forever.
All these were joined together in the
vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.
The latter five came as allies to the Valley of Siddim (that is, the Salt Sea).
And in the
fourteenth year came
Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and
smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in
Ham, and the
Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim,
In the
fourteenth year,
Chedorlaomer and the kings
allied with him went out and defeated the Rephaites in Ashteroth-karnaim, the Zuzites in
Ham, the Emites in Shaveh-kiriathaim,
And they returned, and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh, and
smote all the country of the
Amalekites, and also the
Amorites that dwelt in Hazezon-tamar.
Then they turned back to
invade En-mishpat (that is, Kadesh), and they conquered the whole territory of the
Amalekites, as well as the
Amorites who lived in Hazazon-tamar.
The four kings seized
all the goods of
Sodom and
Gomorrah and
all their food, and they went on their way.
And there came one that had escaped, and told
Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of
Mamre the Amorite, brother of
Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were
confederate with
Abram.
Then an escapee came and reported this to
Abram the Hebrew. Now
Abram was living near the Oaks of
Mamre the Amorite, a brother of
Eshcol and Aner,
all of whom were bound by treaty to
Abram.
And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
He
retrieved all the goods, as well as his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the rest of the people.
And the king of
Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of
Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s
dale.
After
Abram returned from defeating
Chedorlaomer and the kings
allied with him, the king of
Sodom went out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).
And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him
tithes of
all.
and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then
Abram gave
Melchizedek a tenth of everything.
And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
So
Abram brought
all these to Him, split each of them down the middle, and laid the
halves opposite each other. The birds, however, he did not cut in half.
And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
He will be a wild
donkey of a man, and his hand will be against
everyone, and
everyone’s hand against him; he will live in hostility toward
all his brothers.”
And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger,
all the land of
Canaan, for an
everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
And to you and your descendants I will give the land where you are residing—
all the land of
Canaan—as an eternal possession; and I will be their God.”
And Abraham took
Ishmael his son, and
all that were born in his house, and
all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house; and
circumcised the flesh of their
foreskin in the
selfsame day, as God had said unto him.
On that very day Abraham took his son
Ishmael and
all those born in his household or purchased with his money—every male among the members of Abraham’s household—and he
circumcised them, just as God had told him.
And
all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were
circumcised with him.
And
all the men of Abraham’s household—both servants born in his household and those purchased from foreigners—were
circumcised with him.
Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and through him all the nations of the earth will be blessed.
That be far from thee to do after this manner, to
slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of
all the earth do right?
Far be it from You to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Will not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?”
And the LORD said, If I find in
Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will
spare all the place for their sakes.
So the LORD replied, “If I find fifty righteous ones within the city of
Sodom, on their account I will
spare the whole place.”
Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous:
wilt thou destroy
all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.
suppose the fifty righteous ones lack five. Will You destroy the whole city for the lack of five?” He replied, “If I find forty-five there, I will not destroy it.”
And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and
tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said,
Nay; but we will
abide in the street
all night.
and said, “My lords, please turn aside into the house of your servant; wash your feet and
spend the night. Then you can rise early and go on your way.” “No,” they answered, “we will
spend the night in the square.”
But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of
Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young,
all the people from every quarter:
Before they had gone to bed,
all the men of the city of
Sodom, both young and old, surrounded the house.
And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
As soon as the men had brought them out, one of them said, “Run for your lives! Do not look back, and do not stop
anywhere on the plain!
Flee to the mountains, or you will be swept away!”
And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
Thus He destroyed these cities and the entire plain, including all the inhabitants of the cities and everything that grew on the ground.
And he looked toward
Sodom and
Gomorrah, and toward
all the land of the plain, and
beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
He looked down toward
Sodom and
Gomorrah and
all the land of the plain, and he saw the smoke rising from the land like smoke from a furnace.
And the
firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of
all the earth:
One day the older daughter said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man in the land to sleep with us, as is the custom over all the earth.
Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.
Now return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet; he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not restore her, be aware that you will surely die—you and all who belong to you.”
Therefore
Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called
all his servants, and told
all these things in their ears: and the men were
sore afraid.
Early the next morning
Abimelech got up and summoned
all his servants; and when he described to them
all that had happened, the men were
terrified.
And unto
Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto
all that are with thee, and with
all other: thus she was reproved.
And he said to
Sarah, “See, I am giving your brother a thousand pieces of silver. It is your
vindication before
all who are with you; you are completely cleared.”
For the LORD had fast closed up
all the wombs of the house of
Abimelech, because of
Sarah Abraham’s wife.
for on account of Abraham’s wife
Sarah, the LORD had completely closed
all the wombs in
Abimelech’s household.
And
Sarah said, God hath made me to
laugh, so that
all that hear will
laugh with me.
And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be
grievous in thy sight because of the
lad, and because of thy
bondwoman; in
all that
Sarah hath said unto thee,
hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
But God said to Abraham, “Do not be distressed about the boy and your
maidservant.
Listen to everything that
Sarah tells you, for through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.
And it came to pass at that time, that
Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in
all that thou doest:
At that time
Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army said to Abraham, “God is with you in
all that you do.
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
And through your offspring all nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
And Ephron dwelt among the children of
Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the
audience of the children of
Heth, even of
all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,
Now Ephron was sitting among the sons of
Heth. So in the presence of
all the
Hittites who had come to the gate of his city, Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham,
And the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah, which was before
Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and
all the trees that were in the field, that were in
all the borders round about, were made sure
So Ephron’s field at Machpelah near
Mamre, the cave that was in it, and
all the trees within the boundaries of the field were deeded over
Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of
Heth, before
all that went in at the gate of his city.
to Abraham’s possession in the presence of
all the
Hittites who had come to the gate of his city.
