And he made the holy
anointing oil, and the pure incense of sweet spices, according to the work of the
apothecary.
And they buried him in his own
sepulchres, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and
divers kinds of spices prepared by the
apothecaries’ art: and they made a very great burning for him.
And he was buried in the tomb that he had cut out for himself in the City of David. They laid him on a
bier that was full of spices and various
blended perfumes; then they made a great fire in his honor.
Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the
apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.
Next to them, Uzziel son of Harhaiah, one of the goldsmiths, made repairs, and next to him, Hananiah son of the
perfumer made repairs. They fortified Jerusalem as far as the Broad Wall.
As dead
flies bring a
stench to the
perfumer’s oil, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.
Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast
forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
Your own evil will discipline you; your own
apostasies will
reprimand you. Consider and
realize how evil and bitter it is for you to
forsake the LORD your God and to have no fear of Me,” declares the Lord GOD of Hosts.
Neither shall they
defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their
detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have
sinned, and will
cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
They will no longer
defile themselves with their idols or
detestable images, or with any of their transgressions. I will save them from all their
apostasies by which they
sinned, and I will
cleanse them. Then they will be My people, and I will be their God.
I will
heal their
backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
I will
heal their
apostasy; I will freely love them, for My anger has turned away from them.

And a certain
Jew named
Apollos, born at Alexandria, an
eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
Meanwhile a
Jew named
Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an
eloquent man, well versed in the Scriptures.
And when he was disposed to pass into
Achaia, the brethren wrote,
exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
When
Apollos resolved to cross over to
Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to
welcome him. On his arrival, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.
And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, and set apart for the gospel of God—
By whom we have received grace and
apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
Through Him and on behalf of His name, we received grace and
apostleship to call all those among the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith.
For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the
apostle of the Gentiles, I
magnify mine office:
I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the
apostle to the Gentiles, I
magnify my ministry
Salute Andronicus and Junia, my
kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the
apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow countrymen and fellow prisoners. They are outstanding among the
apostles, and they were in Christ before I was.
Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of
Apollos; and I of
Cephas; and I of Christ.
What I mean is this: Individuals among you are saying, “I follow Paul,” “I follow
Apollos,” “I follow
Cephas,” or “I follow Christ.”
For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of
Apollos; are ye not
carnal?
For when one of you says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere men?
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
What then is
Apollos? And what is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, as the Lord has assigned to each his
role.
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.
Whether Paul, or
Apollos, or
Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
whether Paul or
Apollos or
Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future. All of them belong to you,
And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to
Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be
puffed up for one against another.
Brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us not to go beyond what is written. Then you will not take pride in one man over another.
For I think that God hath set forth us the
apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a
spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
For it seems to me that God has displayed us
apostles at the end of the
procession, like prisoners appointed for death. We have become a
spectacle to the whole world, to angels as well as to men.
Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
Am I not free? Am I not an
apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you
yourselves not my
workmanship in the Lord?
If I be not an
apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine
apostleship are ye in the Lord.
Even if I am not an
apostle to others, surely I am to you. For you are the seal of my
apostleship in the Lord.
Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other
apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and
Cephas?
Have we no right to take along a believing wife, as do the other
apostles and the Lord’s brothers and
Cephas?
Or are
Barnabas and I the only
apostles who must work for a living?
And God hath set some in the church, first
apostles,
secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments,
diversities of tongues.
And in the church God has appointed first of all
apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, and those with gifts of
healing, helping, administration, and various tongues.
Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles.
For I am the least of the
apostles, that am not meet to be called an
apostle, because I
persecuted the church of God.
For I am the least of the
apostles and am unworthy to be called an
apostle, because I
persecuted the church of God.
As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.
Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly urged him to go to you with the brothers. He was not at all inclined to go now, but he will go when he has the opportunity.

For I suppose I was not a
whit behind the very chiefest
apostles.
I consider myself in no way inferior to those “
super-
apostles.”
I am become a
fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been
commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest
apostles, though I be nothing.
I have become a
fool, but you drove me to it. In fact, you should have
commended me, since I am in no way inferior to those “
super-
apostles,” even though I am nothing.
Truly the signs of an
apostle were wrought among you in all
patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
The true marks of an
apostle—signs, wonders, and miracles—were performed among you with great
perseverance.
Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
nor did I go up to Jerusalem to the apostles who came before me, but I went into Arabia and later returned to Damascus.
But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord’s brother.
But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.

Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been

Nor did we seek praise from you or from

For this reason I was appointed as a preacher, an apostle, and a faithful and true teacher of the Gentiles. I am telling the truth; I am not lying about anything.
