But I have had God’s help to this day, and I stand here to
testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing
beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen:
I say then, Have they
stumbled that they should fall? God
forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to
provoke them to jealousy.
I ask then, did they
stumble so as to fall
beyond recovery? Certainly not! However, because of their
trespass, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel
jealous.
And I
baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I
baptized any other.
And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be
puffed up for one against another.
Brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us not to go beyond what is written. Then you will not take pride in one man over another.
But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.

beyond her youth and they ought to marry, let him do as he wishes; he is not
sinning; they should get married.
There hath no
temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
No
temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be
tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are
tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it.
For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength,
insomuch that we
despaired even of life:
We do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the hardships we
encountered in the province of Asia. We were under a burden far
beyond our ability to
endure, so that we
despaired even of life.
For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;
For we do not write you anything that is beyond your ability to read and understand. And I hope that you will understand us completely,
For our light
affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
For our light and
momentary affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory that is far
beyond comparison.
For to their power, I bear record,
yea, and
beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
For I
testify that they gave according to their ability and even
beyond it. Of their own
accord,
But we will not
boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.
We, however, will not
boast beyond our limits, but only within the field of influence that God has assigned to us—a field that reaches even to you.
For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:
We are not
overstepping our bounds, as if we had not come to you. Indeed, we were the first to reach you with the gospel of Christ.
Not
boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men’s labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,
Neither do we
boast beyond our limits in the labors of others. But we hope that as your faith increases, our area of influence among you will greatly increase as well,
To
preach the gospel in the regions
beyond you, and not to
boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hand.
so that we can
preach the gospel in the regions
beyond you. Then we will not be
boasting in the work already done in another man’s territory.
For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that
beyond measure I
persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
For you have heard of my former way of life in
Judaism, how severely I
persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.
And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly
zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
I was advancing in
Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries and was extremely
zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

violate or
exploit his brother in this regard, because the Lord will
avenge all such acts, as we have already told you and solemnly
warned you.

By faith
Sarah, even though she was barren and

We have also a more sure word of prophecy;
whereunto ye do well that ye take
heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day
dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
We also have the word of the prophets as confirmed
beyond doubt. And you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp
shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

afore thought he might command the waves of the sea, (so proud was he
beyond the condition of man) and
weigh the high mountains in a balance, was now cast on the ground, and carried in an
