Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
And he shall take a
censer full of burning
coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the
vail:
Then he must take a
censer full of burning
coals from the altar before the LORD, and two handfuls of finely ground
fragrant incense, and take them inside the
veil.
Speak unto
Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and
scatter thou the fire
yonder; for they are
hallowed.
“Tell
Eleazar son of Aaron the priest to remove the censers from the flames and to
scatter the
coals far away, because the censers are holy.
And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine
handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that
smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he
slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall
quench my
coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the earth.
Now the whole clan has risen up against your
maidservant and said, ‘Hand over the one who struck down his brother, that we may put him to death for the life of the brother whom he killed. Then we will cut off the heir as well!’ So they would
extinguish my one remaining
ember by not preserving my husband’s name or
posterity on the earth.”
There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth
devoured:
coals were
kindled by it.
Through the brightness before him were
coals of fire
kindled.
From the brightness of His presence
coals of fire
blazed forth.
And he looked, and, behold, there was a
cake baken on the
coals, and a
cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
And he looked around, and there by his head was a
cake of bread
baked over hot
coals, and a
jar of water. So he
ate and
drank and lay down again.
His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.
His breath sets
coals ablaze, and flames pour from his mouth.
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and
brimstone, and an
horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
On the wicked He will rain down
fiery coals and sulfur; a
scorching wind will be their portion.
There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth
devoured:
coals were
kindled by it.
At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed,
hail stones and
coals of fire.
From the brightness of His presence His clouds advanced— hailstones and coals of fire.
The LORD also
thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice;
hail stones and
coals of fire.
The LORD
thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded— hailstones and
coals of fire.
Sharp arrows of the mighty, with
coals of
juniper.
Sharp arrows will come from the
warrior, with burning
coals of the
broom tree!
Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
May burning
coals fall on them; may they be thrown into the fire, into the
miry pits, never to rise again.
Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
Can a man walk on hot
coals without
scorching his feet?
For thou shalt
heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.
For in so doing, you will
heap burning
coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the
coals thereof are
coals of fire, which hath a most
vehement flame.
Set me as a seal over your heart, as a seal upon your arm. For love is as strong as death, its jealousy as
unrelenting as
Sheol. Its sparks are
fiery flames, the fiercest
blaze of all.
Then
flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live
coal in his hand, which he had taken with the
tongs from off the altar:
And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’ vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not
spare: so that there shall not be found in the
bursting of it a
sherd to take fire from the
hearth, or to take water
withal out of the pit.
The smith with the
tongs both worketh in the
coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms:
yea, he is
hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is
faint.
The
blacksmith takes a tool and labors over the
coals; he fashions an
idol with hammers and forges it with his strong arms. Yet he grows
hungry and loses his strength; he fails to drink water and grows
faint.
And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire;
yea, also I have
baked bread upon the
coals thereof; I have
roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an
abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
And no one considers in his heart, no one has the knowledge or insight to say, “I burned half of it in the fire, and I
baked bread on its
coals; I
roasted meat and I
ate. Shall I make something
detestable with the rest of it? Shall I bow down to a block of wood?”
Behold, they shall be as
stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a
coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
Surely they are like
stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame. There will be no
coals to warm them or fire to sit beside.
Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
Behold, I have created the
craftsman who fans the
coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its task; and I have created the destroyer to
wreak havoc.
Their
visage is blacker than a
coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is
withered, it is become like a stick.
But now their appearance is blacker than
soot; they are not recognized in the streets. Their skin has
shriveled on their bones; it has become as dry as a stick.
As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning
coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth
lightning.
In the midst of the living creatures was the appearance of
glowing coals of fire, or of torches. Fire moved back and forth between the living creatures; it was bright, and
lightning flashed out of it.
And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the
cherub, and fill thine hand with
coals of fire from between the cherubims, and
scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.
And the LORD said to the man clothed in linen, “Go inside the
wheelwork beneath the
cherubim. Fill your hands with burning
coals from among the
cherubim and
scatter them over the city.” And as I watched, he went in.
Then set it empty upon the
coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the
filthiness of it may be
molten in it, that the
scum of it may be consumed.
Set the empty pot on its
coals until it becomes hot and its copper glows. Then its impurity will
melt within; its
rust will be consumed.
Before him went the
pestilence, and burning
coals went forth at his feet.
Plague went before Him, and fever followed in His steps.
And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
Because it was cold, the servants and officers were standing around a charcoal fire they had made to keep warm. And Peter was also standing with them, warming himself.
As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of
coals there, and fish laid
thereon, and bread.
When they landed, they saw a charcoal fire there with fish on it, and some bread.
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he
thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt
heap coals of fire on his head.
On the contrary, “If your enemy is
hungry, feed him; if he is
thirsty, give him a drink. For in so doing, you will
heap burning
coals on his head.”
Let not the
sinner say that he hath not
sinned: for God shall burn
coals of fire upon his head, which saith before the Lord God and his glory, I have not
sinned.
Kindle not the
coals of a
sinner, lest thou be burnt with the flame of his fire.
Of a
spark of fire a
heap of
coals is
kindled: and a sinful man layeth wait for blood.
