glean and gather after the reapers among the
sheaves: so she came, and hath
continued even from the morning until now, that she
tarried a little in the house.

glean and gather among the
sheaves after the harvesters.’ So she came out and has
continued from morning until now, except that she rested a short time in the shelter.”
Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine

continue to find favor in your eyes, for you have comforted and spoken kindly to your
maidservant, though I am not like one of your servant girls.”

Shiloh by the word of the LORD.
And the LORD
continued to appear at
Shiloh, because there He revealed Himself to Samuel by His word.
If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not
rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you
continue following the LORD your God:
If you fear the LORD and serve Him and obey His voice, and if you do not
rebel against the command of the LORD, and if both you and the king who reigns over you follow the LORD your God, then all will be well.
Moreover as for me, God
forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by ceasing to pray for you. And I will continue to teach you the good and right way.
But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

brook. But David and four hundred men
continued in pursuit.

“As surely as God lives,”
Joab replied, “if you had not spoken up, the troops would have
continued pursuing their brothers until morning.”
So
Joab blew a
trumpet, and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more.
So
Joab blew the ram’s horn, and all the troops stopped; they no longer pursued Israel or
continued to fight.
And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that

And the ark of the LORD
continued in the house of Obed-
edom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed-
edom, and all his household.
Thus the ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-
edom the Gittite for three months, and the LORD blessed him and all his household.
Therefore now let it please thee to
bless the house of thy servant, that it may
continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
Now therefore, may it please You to
bless the house of Your servant, that it may
continue forever before You. For You, O Lord GOD, have spoken, and with Your blessing the house of Your servant will be blessed
forever.”
And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely
shew thee kindness for
Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table
continually.

Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land of your
grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”

lame in both feet.

ascent of mount Olivet, and
wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went
barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up,
weeping as they went up.
But David
continued up the Mount of Olives,
weeping as he went up. His head was covered, and he was walking
barefoot. And all the people with him covered their heads and went up,

For, said Hushai, thou knowest thy father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be
chafed in their minds, as a bear
robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father is a man of war, and will not
lodge with the people.
He
continued, “You know your father and his men. They are mighty men, and as fierce as a wild bear
robbed of her cubs. Moreover, your father is a man of war who will not
spend the night with the troops.
And
Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the LORD thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.

Ahimaaz called out to the king, “All is well!” And he bowed facedown before the king. He
continued, “Blessed be the LORD your God! He has delivered up the men who raised their hands against my lord the king.”
And say ye to
Amasa, Art thou not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me
continually in the room of
Joab.
And say to
Amasa, ‘Aren’t you my flesh and blood? May God
punish me, and ever so severely, if from this time you are not the commander of my army in place of
Joab!’”
That the LORD may
continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take
heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.
and so that the LORD may
fulfill His promise to me: ‘If your descendants take
heed to walk faithfully before Me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’
