Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
Then they told the king, “Daniel, one of the exiles from Judah, shows no regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed. He still makes his petition three times a day.”
The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the
calves of Beth-
aven: for the people thereof shall
mourn over it, and the priests thereof that
rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.
The people of Samaria will fear for the
calf of Beth-
aven. Indeed, its people will
mourn with its
idolatrous priests— those who
rejoiced in its glory— for it has been taken from them into
exile.
I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of
Aven, and him that holdeth the
sceptre from the house of
Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
I will break down the gates of Damascus; I will cut off the ruler of the Valley of
Aven and the one who wields the
scepter in Beth-
eden. The people of
Aram will be
exiled to Kir,” says the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of
Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away
captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to
Edom:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of
Gaza, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they
exiled a whole population, delivering them up to
Edom.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to
Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Tyre, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they delivered up a whole congregation of
exiles to
Edom and broke a covenant of
brotherhood.

captive with the first that go
captive, and the
banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.

For thus
Amos saith,
Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away
captive out of their own land.
for this is what
Amos has said: ‘
Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will surely go into
exile, away from their homeland.’”
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an
harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a
polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘Your wife will become a
prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be divided by a measuring line, and you
yourself will die on pagan soil. And Israel will surely go into
exile, away from their homeland.’”
And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the
Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
And the
exiles of this host of the Israelites will possess the land of the
Canaanites as far as Zarephath; and the
exiles from Jerusalem who are in Sepharad will possess the cities of the Negev.

bald, and
poll thee for thy delicate children;
enlarge thy
baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee.

captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.
It is decreed that the city be
exiled and carried away; her maidservants
moan like doves, and beat upon their breasts.
Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were
dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
Yet she became an
exile; she went into captivity. Her infants were

Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of
Josiah the son of
Zephaniah;

exiles—from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who have arrived from Babylon—and go that same day to the house of
Josiah son of
Zephaniah.
For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses
rifled, and the women
ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
For I will gather all the nations for battle against Jerusalem, and the city will be captured, the houses
looted, and the women
ravished. Half of the city will go into
exile, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.
And Josias
begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
and
Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the
exile to Babylon.
And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias
begat Salathiel; and Salathiel
begat Zorobabel;
After the
exile to Babylon: Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of
Zerubbabel,
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of
Moloch, and the star of your god
Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
You have taken along the tabernacle of
Molech and the star of your god Rephan, the idols you made to worship. Therefore I will send you into
exile beyond Babylon.’
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them
afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and
confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
All these people died in faith, without having received the things they were promised. However, they saw them and
welcomed them from
afar. And they acknowledged that they were strangers and
exiles on the earth.
Dearly beloved, I
beseech you as strangers and pilgrims,
abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
Beloved, I
urge you, as foreigners and
exiles, to
abstain from the desires of the flesh, which war against your soul.
For when unrighteous men thought to
oppress the holy nation; they being shut up in their houses, the prisoners of darkness, and
fettered with the bonds of a long night, lay there
exiled from the eternal providence.
