fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

The blessings of thy
father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the
everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

father have surpassed the blessings of the ancient mountains and the
bounty of the
everlasting hills. May they rest on the head of Joseph, on the
brow of the prince of his brothers.

grudge? Then he will surely repay us for all the evil that we did to him.”
And they sent a
messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy
father did command before he died, saying,

today?”
And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is My name
forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.
Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:
Go,
assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘The LORD, the God of your
fathers—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—has appeared to me and said: I have surely attended to you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt.
That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.

fathers’ houses: The sons of

firstborn of Israel; Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi: these be the families of

And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the
Canaanites, and the
Hittites, and the
Amorites, and the
Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he
sware unto thy
fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
And when the LORD brings you into the land of the
Canaanites,
Hittites,
Amorites,
Hivites, and Jebusites—the land He
swore to your
fathers that He would give you, a land flowing with milk and honey—you shall keep this service in this month.
And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the
Canaanites, as he
sware unto thee and to thy
fathers, and shall give it thee,
And after the LORD brings you into the land of the
Canaanites and gives it to you, as He
swore to you and your
fathers,
The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an
habitation; my
father’s God, and I will
exalt him.
The LORD is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my
father’s God, and I will
exalt Him.
When Jethro, the priest of
Midian, Moses’
father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
Now Moses’
father-in-law Jethro, the priest of
Midian, heard about all that God had done for Moses and His people Israel, and how the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt.
Then Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he had sent her back,
After Moses had sent back his wife Zipporah, his father-in-law Jethro had received her,
And the name of the other was
Eliezer; for the God of my
father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:
The other son was named
Eliezer, for Moses had said, “The God of my
father was my helper and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh.”
And Jethro, Moses’
father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he
encamped at the mount of God:
Moses’
father-in-law Jethro, along with Moses’ wife and sons, came to him in the desert, where he was
encamped at the mountain of God.
And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.
He sent word to Moses, “I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons.”
And Moses went out to meet his
father in law, and did
obeisance, and
kissed him; and they asked each other of their
welfare; and they came into the tent.

father-in-law and bowed down and
kissed him. They
greeted each other and went into the tent.

And when Moses’
father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou
thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even?
When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he asked, “What is this that you are doing for the people? Why do you sit alone as judge, with all the people standing around you from morning till evening?”
And Moses said unto his
father in law, Because the people come unto me to
enquire of God:
“Because the people come to me to inquire of God,” Moses replied.
And Moses’ father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.
But Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “What you are doing is not good.
So Moses
hearkened to the voice of his
father in law, and did all that he had said.
Moses
listened to his
father-in-law and did everything he said.
And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land.
Then Moses sent his father-in-law on his way, and Jethro returned to his own land.
Thou shalt not bow down
thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the
fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate me;
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the
fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who
hate Me,
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Honor your father and mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
Whoever strikes his
father or mother must surely be put to death.
And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
Anyone who curses his
father or mother must surely be put to death.
If her
father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the
dowry of virgins.
If her
father absolutely refuses to give her to him, the man still must pay an amount comparable to the
bridal price of a virgin.
Ye shall not
afflict any widow, or
fatherless child.
You must not mistreat any widow or
orphan.
And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
My anger will be
kindled, and I will kill you with the sword; then your wives will become widows and your children will be
fatherless.
Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with
leavened bread; neither shall the
fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.
You must not offer the blood of My sacrifices with anything
leavened, nor may the
fat of My feast remain until morning.
And thou shalt take all the
fat that covereth the inwards, and the
caul that is above the liver, and the two
kidneys, and the
fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar.
Take all the
fat that covers the
entrails and the
lobe of the liver, and both
kidneys with the
fat on them, and burn them on the altar.
Also thou shalt take of the ram the
fat and the
rump, and the
fat that covereth the inwards, and the
caul above the liver, and the two
kidneys, and the
fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder; for it is a ram of
consecration:
Take the
fat from the ram, the
fat tail, the
fat covering the
entrails, the
lobe of the liver, both
kidneys with the
fat on them, and the right
thigh (since this is a ram for
ordination),
Keeping mercy for thousands,
forgiving iniquity and
transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the
fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
maintaining loving devotion to a thousand generations,
forgiving iniquity,
transgression, and sin. Yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished; He will visit the iniquity of the
fathers on their children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”
And thou shalt
anoint them, as thou
didst anoint their
father, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office: for their
anointing shall surely be an
everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.
Anoint them just as you
anointed their
father, so that they may also serve Me as priests. Their
anointing will
qualify them for a permanent priesthood throughout their generations.”
And the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
Then Aaron’s sons the priests are to arrange the pieces, including the head and the
fat,
atop the burning wood on the altar.
And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
He is to cut the animal into pieces, and the priest shall arrange them, including the head and
fat,
atop the burning wood that is on the altar.
And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
From the peace offering he is to bring an offering made by fire to the LORD: the
fat that covers the
entrails, all the
fat that is on them,
And the two
kidneys, and the
fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the
caul above the liver, with the
kidneys, it shall he take away.
both
kidneys with the
fat on them near the loins, and the
lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the
kidneys.
And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the
fat thereof, and the whole
rump, it shall he take off hard by the
backbone; and the
fat that covereth the inwards, and all the
fat that is upon the inwards,
And from the peace offering he shall bring an offering made by fire to the LORD consisting of its
fat: the entire
fat tail cut off close to the
backbone, the
fat that covers the
entrails, all the
fat that is on them,
And the two
kidneys, and the
fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the
caul above the liver, with the
kidneys, it shall he take away.
both
kidneys with the
fat on them near the loins, and the
lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the
kidneys.
And he shall offer thereof his offering, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
And from his offering he shall present an offering made by fire to the LORD: the
fat that covers the
entrails, all the
fat that is on them,
And the two
kidneys, and the
fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the
caul above the liver, with the
kidneys, it shall he take away.
both
kidneys with the
fat on them near the loins, and the
lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the
kidneys.
And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the LORD’S.
Then the priest is to burn the food on the altar as an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma. All the
fat is the LORD’s.
It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.
This is a permanent statute for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood.”
And he shall take off from it all the
fat of the
bullock for the sin offering; the
fat that covereth the inwards, and all the
fat that is upon the inwards,
Then he shall remove all the
fat from the bull of the sin offering—the
fat that covers the
entrails, all the
fat that is on them,
And the two
kidneys, and the
fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the
caul above the liver, with the
kidneys, it shall he take away,
both
kidneys with the
fat on them near the loins, and the
lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the
kidneys—
As it was taken off from the
bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering.
just as the fat is removed from the ox of the peace offering. Then the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.
And he shall take all his fat from him, and burn it upon the altar.
And he is to remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar.
And he shall burn all his
fat upon the altar, as the
fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall make an
atonement for him as concerning his sin, and it shall be
forgiven him.
He must burn all its
fat on the altar, like the
fat of the peace offerings; thus the priest will make
atonement for that man’s sin, and he will be
forgiven.
And he shall take away all the
fat thereof, as the
fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the LORD; and the priest shall make an
atonement for him, and it shall be
forgiven him.
Then he is to remove all the
fat, just as it is removed from the peace offering, and the priest is to burn it on the altar as a pleasing
aroma to the LORD. In this way the priest will make
atonement for him, and he will be
forgiven.
And he shall take away all the
fat thereof, as the
fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: and the priest shall make an
atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be
forgiven him.
And he shall remove all the
fat, just as the
fat of the lamb is removed from the peace offerings, and he shall burn it on the altar along with the offerings made by fire to the LORD. In this way the priest will make
atonement for him for the sin he has committed, and he will be
forgiven.
And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn
thereon the
fat of the peace offerings.
The fire on the altar shall be kept burning; it must not be
extinguished. Every morning the priest is to add wood to the fire, arrange the burnt offering on it, and burn the
fat portions of the peace offerings on it.
And he shall offer of it all the
fat thereof; the
rump, and the
fat that covereth the inwards,
And all the
fat from it shall be offered: the
fat tail, the
fat that covers the
entrails,
And the two
kidneys, and the
fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the
caul that is above the liver, with the
kidneys, it shall he take away:
both
kidneys with the
fat on them near the loins, and the
lobe of the liver, which is to be removed with the
kidneys.
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall eat no manner of fat, of ox, or of sheep, or of goat.
“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘You are not to eat any of the fat of an ox, a sheep, or a goat.
And the
fat of the beast that dieth of itself, and the
fat of that which is
torn with beasts, may be used in any other use: but ye shall in no wise eat of it.
The
fat of an animal found dead or
mauled by wild beasts may be used for any other purpose, but you must not eat it.
For
whosoever eateth the
fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off from his people.
If
anyone eats the
fat of an animal from which an offering made by fire may be presented to the LORD, the one who eats it must be cut off from his people.
His own hands shall bring the offerings of the LORD made by fire, the fat with the breast, it shall he bring, that the breast may be waved for a wave offering before the LORD.
With his own hands he is to bring the offerings made by fire to the LORD; he shall bring the fat, together with the breast, and wave the breast as a wave offering before the LORD.
And the priest shall burn the fat upon the altar: but the breast shall be Aaron’s and his sons’.
The priest is to burn the fat on the altar, but the breast belongs to Aaron and his sons.
He among the sons of Aaron, that offereth the blood of the peace offerings, and the fat, shall have the right shoulder for his part.
The son of Aaron who presents the blood and
fat of the peace offering shall have the right
thigh as a portion.
And he took all the
fat that was upon the inwards, and
caul above the liver, and the two
kidneys, and their
fat, and Moses burned it upon the altar.
Moses also took all the
fat that was on the
entrails, the
lobe of the liver, and both
kidneys and their
fat, and burned it all on the altar.
And he cut the ram into pieces; and Moses burnt the head, and the pieces, and the fat.
He cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces, and the fat.
And he took the
fat, and the
rump, and all the
fat that was upon the inwards, and the
caul above the liver, and the two
kidneys, and their
fat, and the right shoulder:
And Moses took the
fat—the
fat tail, all the
fat that was on the
entrails, the
lobe of the liver, and both
kidneys with their
fat—as well as the right
thigh.
