For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of
God Almighty.
These are
demonic spirits that perform signs and go out to all the kings of the earth, to
assemble them for battle on the great day of
God the
Almighty.
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in
remembrance before
God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations
collapsed. And
God remembered Babylon the great and gave her the cup of the wine of the
fury of His wrath.
And there fell upon men a great
hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men
blasphemed God because of the plague of the
hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
And great hailstones weighing almost a hundred pounds each rained down on them from above. And men
cursed God for the plague of
hail, because it was so
horrendous.
For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
For God has put it into their hearts to carry out His purpose by uniting to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.
For her sins have reached unto heaven, and
God hath remembered her
iniquities.
For her sins are piled up to heaven, and
God has remembered her
iniquities.
Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and
mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord
God who judgeth her.
Therefore her plagues will come in one day— death and grief and famine— and she will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”
Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for
God hath
avenged you on her.
Rejoice over her, O heaven, O saints and apostles and prophets, because
God has pronounced for you His judgment against her.
And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying,
Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our
God:
After this I heard a sound like the
roar of a great multitude in heaven,
shouting: “
Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our
God!
And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped
God that sat on the throne, saying,
Amen;
Alleluia.
And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped
God who sits on the throne, saying: “
Amen,
Hallelujah!”
And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you who serve Him, and those who fear Him, small and great alike!”
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying,
Alleluia: for the Lord
God omnipotent reigneth.
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage
supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of
God.
Then the angel told me to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage
supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of
God.”
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
So I fell at his feet to worship him. But he told me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who
rely on the testimony of Jesus. Worship
God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
And he was clothed with a
vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of
God.
He is dressed in a
robe dipped in blood, and His name is The Word of
God.
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should
smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of
Almighty God.
And from His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron
scepter. He treads the winepress of the
fury of the wrath of
God the
Almighty.
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he
cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather
yourselves together unto the
supper of the great
God;
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he
cried out in a loud voice to all the birds flying overhead, “Come, gather together for the great
supper of
God,
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were
beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of
God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Then I saw the thrones, and those seated on them had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been
beheaded for their testimony of Jesus and for the word of
God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image, and had not received its mark on their foreheads or hands. And they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection! The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with Him for a thousand years.
And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from
God out of heaven, and
devoured them.
And they marched across the broad
expanse of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. But fire came down from heaven and consumed them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. And there were open books, and one of them was the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their deeds, as recorded in the books.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from
God out of heaven, prepared as a
bride adorned for her husband.
I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from
God, prepared as a
bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.
And
God shall
wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
‘He will
wipe away every
tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or
mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”
He that overcometh shall
inherit all things; and I will be his
God, and he shall be my son.
The one who overcomes will
inherit all things, and I will be his
God, and he will be My son.
And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the holy city of Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,
Having the glory of
God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a
jasper stone, clear as crystal;
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord
God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
But I saw no temple in the city, because the Lord
God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to
shine in it: for the glory of
God did
lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
And the city has no need of sun or moon to
shine on it, because the glory of
God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its lamp.
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
And there shall be no more
curse: but the throne of
God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
No longer will there be any
curse. The throne of
God and of the Lamb will be within the city, and His servants will worship Him.
And there shall be no night there; and they need no
candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord
God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
There will be no more night in the city, and they will have no need for the light of a lamp or of the sun. For the Lord
God will
shine on them, and they will reign
forever and ever.
And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord
God of the holy prophets sent his angel to
shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
Then the angel said to me, “These words are faithful and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent His angel to show His servants what must soon take place.”
Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
But he said to me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!”
For I
testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things,
God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
I
testify to
everyone who hears the words of prophecy in this book: If
anyone adds to them,
God will add to him the plagues described in this book.
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
And if
anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy,
God will take away his share in the tree of life and the holy city, which are described in this book.
And said, Ye shall no more bear the ark upon your shoulders: now therefore serve the Lord your God, and minister unto his people Israel, and prepare you after your families and kindreds,
And the works or Josias were upright before his Lord with an heart full of
godliness.
I am not sent out from the Lord
God against thee; for my war is upon Euphrates: and now the Lord is with me,
yea, the Lord is with me hasting me forward: depart from me, and be not against the Lord.
And after that king Nabuchodonosor had made him to
swear by the name of the Lord, he
forswore himself, and rebelled; and
hardening his neck, his heart, he
transgressed the laws of the Lord
God of Israel.
Nevertheless the
God of their fathers sent by his
messenger to call them back, because he
spared them and his tabernacle also.
And they took all the holy vessels of the Lord, both great and small, with the vessels of the ark of God, and the king’s treasures, and carried them away into Babylon.
Neither in her judgment is any unrighteousness; and she is the strength, kingdom, power, and majesty, of all ages. Blessed be the God of truth.
And they praised the God of their fathers, because he had given them freedom and liberty
And certain of the chief of their families, when they came to the temple of
God that is in Jerusalem,
vowed to set up the house again in his own place according to their ability,
Then stood up Jesus the son of Josedec, and his brethren the priests and Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, and his brethren, and made ready the altar of the God of Israel,
To offer burnt sacrifices upon it, according as it is expressly commanded in the book of Moses the man of God.
And all they that had made any
vow to
God began to offer sacrifices to
God from the first day of the seventh month, although the temple of the Lord was not yet built.
And in the second year and second month after his coming to the temple of God at Jerusalem began Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, and Jesus the son of Josedec, and their brethren, and the priests, and the Levites, and all they that were come unto Jerusalem out of the captivity:
And they laid the foundation of the house of
God in the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come to
Jewry and Jerusalem.
And they appointed the Levites from twenty years old over the works of the Lord. Then stood up Jesus, and his sons and brethren, and Cadmiel his brother, and the sons of Madiabun, with the sons of Joda the son of Eliadun, with their sons and brethren, all Levites, with one
accord setters forward of the business, labouring to advance the works in the house of
God. So the workmen built the temple of the Lord.
And they perceived that they that were of the captivity did build the temple unto the Lord God of Israel.
Then Zorobabel and Jesus and the chief of the families of Israel said unto them, It is not for us and you to build together an house unto the Lord our God.
Now in the second year of the reign of
Darius Aggeus and
Zacharias the son of Addo, the prophets,
prophesied unto the Jews in
Jewry and Jerusalem in the name of the Lord
God of Israel, which was upon them.
But when our fathers
provoked God unto wrath, and
sinned against the Lord of Israel which is in heaven, he gave them over into the power of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, of the Chaldees;
That offerings may be made to the most high God for the king and for his children, and that they may pray for their lives.
And they finished these things by the commandment of the Lord
God of Israel, and with the consent of Cyrus,
Darius, and Artexerxes, kings of Persia.
The priests also and the Levites stood
arrayed in their
vestments, according to their kindreds, in the service of the Lord
God of Israel, according to the book of Moses: and the
porters at every gate.
For that he had turned the counsel of the king of Assyria toward them, to
strengthen their hands in the works of the Lord
God of Israel.
This
Esdras went up from Babylon, as a
scribe, being very ready in the law of Moses, that was given by the
God of Israel.
With that also which is given of the people for the temple of the Lord their
God at Jerusalem: and that silver and gold may be collected for bullocks, rams, and lambs, and things
thereunto appertaining;
To the end that they may offer sacrifices unto the Lord upon the altar of the Lord their God, which is in Jerusalem.
And
whatsoever thou and thy brethren will do with the silver and gold, that do, according to the will of thy
God.
And the holy vessels of the Lord, which are given thee for the use of the temple of thy God, which is in Jerusalem, thou shalt set before thy God in Jerusalem.
And
whatsoever thing else thou shalt remember for the use of the temple of thy
God, thou shalt give it out of the king’s treasury.
And I king Artexerxes have also commanded the keepers of the treasures in Syria and Phenice, that
whatsoever Esdras the priest and the reader of the law of the most high
God shall send for, they should give it him with speed,
Let all things be performed after the law of
God diligently unto the most high
God, that wrath come not upon the kingdom of the king and his sons.
And thou,
Esdras, according to the wisdom of
God ordain judges and justices, that they may judge in all Syria and Phenice all those that know the law of thy
God; and those that know it not thou shalt teach.
And
whosoever shall
transgress the law of thy
God, and of the king, shall be punished
diligently, whether it be by death, or other punishment, by penalty of money, or by imprisonment.
Then said
Esdras the
scribe, Blessed be the only Lord
God of my fathers, who hath put these things into the heart of the king, to
glorify his house that is in Jerusalem:
Therefore was I encouraged by the help of the Lord my God, and gathered together men of Israel to go up with me.
For we had said unto the king, that the power of the Lord our God should be with them that seek him, to support them in all ways.
Watch ye, and keep them till ye deliver them to the chief of the priests and Levites, and to the principal men of the families of Israel, in Jerusalem, into the chambers of the house of our God.
Moreover they that were come out of the captivity offered sacrifice unto the Lord
God of Israel, even twelve bullocks for all Israel,
fourscore and sixteen rams,
And they delivered the king’s commandments unto the king’s stewards’ and to the governors of Celosyria and Phenice; and they honoured the people and the temple of God.
So all they that were then moved at the word of the Lord
God of Israel assembled unto me, whilst I
mourned for the iniquity: but I sat still full of
heaviness until the evening sacrifice.
And to discover unto us a light in the house of the Lord our
God, and to give us food in the time of our
servitude.
Then Jechonias the son of Jeelus, one of the sons of Israel, called out, and said, O
Esdras, we have
sinned against the Lord
God, we have married strange women of the nations of the land, and now is all Israel
aloft.
And now by
confessing give glory unto the Lord
God of our fathers,
And they spake unto
Esdras the priest and reader, that he would bring the law of Moses, that was given of the Lord
God of Israel.
And when he opened the law, they stood all straight up. So
Esdras blessed the Lord
God most High, the
God of hosts,
Almighty.
Because the sins of their fathers are increased in them: for they have forgotten me, and have offered unto strange gods.
That ye would be my people, and I should be your God; that ye would be my children, and I should be your father?
I brought you up with
gladness; but with sorrow and
heaviness have I lost you: for ye have
sinned before the Lord your
God, and done that thing that is evil before him.
He answered and said unto me, These be they that have put off the
mortal clothing, and put on the
immortal, and have
confessed the name of
God: now are they crowned, and receive palms.
So he answered and said unto me, It is the Son of
God, whom they have
confessed in the world. Then began I greatly to
commend them that stood so stiffly for the name of the Lord.
Then the angel said unto me, Go thy way, and tell my people what manner of things, and how great wonders of the Lord thy God, thou hast seen.
Upon the third day thou
didst command that the waters should be gathered in the seventh part of the earth: six parts hast thou dried up, and kept them, to the intent that of these some being planted of
God and tilled might serve thee.
For the
dumb water and without life brought forth living things at the commandment of
God, that all people might praise thy
wondrous works.
And I said, Speak on, my God. Then said he unto me, The sea is set in a wide place, that it might be deep and great.
And he said unto me. There is no judge above God, and none that hath understanding above the Highest.
For there be many that perish in this life, because they
despise the law of
God that is set before them.
For God hath given strait commandment to such as came, what they should do to live, even as they came, and what they should observe to avoid punishment.
And said in their heart, that there is no
God;
yea, and that knowing they must die.
After thirty years
God heard me thine
handmaid, looked upon my misery, considered my trouble, and gave me a son: and I was very
glad of him, so was my husband also, and all my neighbours: and we gave great honour unto the
Almighty.
For if thou shalt acknowledge the determination of
God to be just, thou shalt both receive thy son in time, and shalt be
commended among women.
The same is he whom God the Highest hath kept a great season, which by his own self shall deliver his creature: and he shall order them that are left behind.
Egypt shall
mourn, and the foundation of it shall be
smitten with the plague and punishment that
God shall bring upon it.
Behold, saith God, I will call together all the kings of the earth to reverence me, which are from the rising of the sun, from the south, from the east, and Libanus; to turn themselves one against another, and repay the things that they have done to them.
Like as they do yet this day unto my chosen, so will I do also, and
recompense in their
bosom. Thus saith the Lord
God;
For now are the plagues come upon the whole earth and ye shall remain in them: for
God shall not deliver you, because ye have
sinned against him.
