Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
While the earth remaineth,
seedtime and
harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and
harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall never cease.”
And
Reuben went in the days of wheat
harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then
Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son’s mandrakes.
Now during the wheat
harvest,
Reuben went out and found some mandrakes in the field. When he brought them to his mother,
Rachel begged Leah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.”
Let Pharaoh do this, and let him
appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven
plenteous years.
Let Pharaoh take action and
appoint commissioners over the land to take a fifth of the
harvest of Egypt during the seven years of abundance.
For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
For the famine has covered the land these two years, and there will be five more years without
plowing or
harvesting.
And it shall come to pass in the increase, that ye shall give the fifth part unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones.
At
harvest time, you are to give a fifth of it to Pharaoh, and four-fifths will be yours as seed for the field and food for
yourselves and your households and children.”
And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
You are also to keep the Feast of
Harvest with the firstfruits of the produce from what you
sow in the field. And keep the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather your produce from the field.
Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.
Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even in the seasons of
plowing and
harvesting, you must rest.
And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.
And you are to
celebrate the Feast of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat
harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year.
And when ye
reap the
harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly
reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy
harvest.
When you
reap the
harvest of your land, you are not to
reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your
harvest.
And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.
But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit; thus your harvest will be increased. I am the LORD your God.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall
reap the
harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a
sheaf of the firstfruits of your
harvest unto the priest:
“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘When you enter the land that I am giving you and you
reap its
harvest, you are to bring to the priest a
sheaf of the firstfruits of your
harvest.
And when ye
reap the
harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean
riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any
gleaning of thy
harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.
When you
reap the
harvest of your land, do not
reap all the way to the edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your
harvest. Leave them for the poor and the foreign resident. I am the LORD your God.’”
That which groweth of its own
accord of thy
harvest thou shalt not
reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.
You are not to
reap the
aftergrowth of your
harvest or gather the grapes of your untended vines. The land must have a year of complete rest.
A jubile shall that
fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not
sow, neither
reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.
According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt
buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:
You are to
buy from your
neighbor according to the number of years since the last
Jubilee; he is to sell to you according to the number of
harvest years remaining.
According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits
doth he sell unto thee.
You shall increase the price in proportion to a greater number of years, or decrease it in proportion to a lesser number of years; for he is selling you a given number of harvests.
And ye shall
sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.
While you are
sowing in the eighth year, you will be eating from the previous
harvest, until the ninth year’s
harvest comes in.
And your
threshing shall reach unto the
vintage, and the
vintage shall reach unto the
sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
Your
threshing will continue until the
grape harvest, and the
grape harvest will continue until
sowing time; you will have your fill of food to eat and will dwell securely in your land.
Do not plant your
vineyard with two types of seed; if you do, the entire
harvest will be
defiled—both the crop you plant and the fruit of your
vineyard.
When thou cuttest down thine
harvest in thy field, and hast
forgot a
sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to
fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all the work of thine hands.
If you are
harvesting in your field and
forget a
sheaf there, do not go back to get it. It is to be left for the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, so that the LORD your God may
bless you in all the work of your hands.
Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the
locust shall
consume it.
You will
sow much seed in the field but
harvest little, because the locusts will
consume it.
And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,
with the
bountiful harvest from the sun and the abundant yield of the seasons,
And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were
dipped in the
brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of
harvest,)
Now the Jordan overflows its banks throughout the harvest season. But as soon as the priests carrying the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge,
And he said unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you? Is not the
gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the
vintage of Abi-ezer?
But
Gideon answered them, “Now what have I accomplished compared to you? Are not the gleanings of Ephraim better than the
grape harvest of Abiezer?
But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat
harvest, that
Samson visited his wife with a
kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in.
Later on, at the time of the wheat
harvest,
Samson took a young goat and went to visit his wife. “I want to go to my wife in her room,” he said. But her father would not let him enter.
So
Naomi returned, and
Ruth the
Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to
Bethlehem in the beginning of barley
harvest.
So
Naomi returned from the land of Moab with her daughter-in-law
Ruth the
Moabitess. And they arrived in
Bethlehem at the beginning of the barley
harvest.
And she went, and came, and
gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her
hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
So
Ruth departed and went out into the field and
gleaned after the
harvesters. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelech.
And behold, Boaz came from
Bethlehem, and said unto the reapers, The LORD be with you. And they answered him, The LORD
bless thee.
Just then Boaz arrived from
Bethlehem and said to the
harvesters, “The LORD be with you.” “The LORD
bless you,” they replied.
Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose
damsel is this?
And Boaz asked the
foreman of his
harvesters, “Whose young woman is this?”
And she said, I pray you, let me
glean and gather after the reapers among the
sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she
tarried a little in the house.
She has said, ‘Please let me
glean and gather among the
sheaves after the
harvesters.’ So she came out and has continued from morning until now, except that she rested a short time in the shelter.”
Let thine eyes be on the field that they do
reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art
athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn.
Let your eyes be on the field they are
harvesting, and follow along after these girls. Indeed, I have ordered the young men not to touch you. And when you are
thirsty, go and drink from the jars the young men have filled.”
And Boaz said unto her, At
mealtime come thou
hither, and eat of the bread, and dip thy
morsel in the
vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her
parched corn, and she did eat, and was sufficed, and left.
At
mealtime Boaz said to her, “Come over here; have some bread and dip it into the
vinegar sauce.” So she sat down beside the
harvesters, and he offered her
roasted grain, and she
ate and was satisfied and had some left over.
And
Ruth the
Moabitess said, He said unto me also, Thou shalt keep fast by my young men, until they have ended all my
harvest.
Then
Ruth the
Moabitess said, “He also told me, ‘Stay with my young men until they have finished gathering all my
harvest.’”
So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to
glean unto the end of barley
harvest and of wheat
harvest; and dwelt with her mother in law.
So
Ruth stayed close to the servant girls of Boaz to
glean grain until the barley and wheat
harvests were finished. And she lived with her mother-in-law.
And they of Beth-shemesh were
reaping their wheat
harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and
rejoiced to see it.
Now the people of Beth-shemesh were harvesting wheat in the valley, and when they looked up and saw the ark, they were overjoyed at the sight.
And he will
appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over
fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to
reap his
harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his
chariots.
He will
appoint some for himself as commanders of thousands and of
fifties, and others to
plow his ground, to
reap his
harvest, to make his weapons of war, and to
equip his
chariots.
And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.
He will take a tenth of your grain and
grape harvest and give it to his officials and servants.
Is it not wheat
harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send
thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king.
Is it not the wheat
harvest today? I will call on the LORD to send
thunder and rain, so that you will know and see what a great evil you have committed in the sight of the LORD by asking for a king.”
Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread
alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
You and your sons and servants are to work the ground for him and bring in the harvest, so that your master’s grandson may have food to eat. But Mephibosheth, your master’s grandson, is always to eat at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they
hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of
harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley
harvest.
And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they
hanged them on the hill before the LORD. So all seven of them fell together; they were put to death in the first days of the
harvest, at the beginning of the barley
harvest.
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took
sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of
harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took
sackcloth and spread it out for herself on a rock. From the beginning of the
harvest until the rain from heaven poured down on the bodies, she did not allow the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the
harvest time unto the cave of
Adullam: and the
troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of
Rephaim.
At
harvest time, three of the thirty chief men went down to David at the cave of
Adullam, while a company of Philistines was
encamped in the Valley of
Rephaim.
And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.
And the child grew, and one day he went out to his father, who was with the harvesters.
Storehouses also for the increase of corn, and wine, and oil; and stalls for all manner of beasts, and
cotes for flocks.
He also made storehouses for the
harvest of grain and new wine and oil, stalls for all kinds of
livestock, and pens for the flocks.
And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.
Its abundant
harvest goes to the kings You have set over us because of our sins. And they rule over our bodies and our
livestock as they please. We are in great distress.
Whose
harvest the
hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the
robber swalloweth up their substance.
For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.
For it is a fire that burns down to
Abaddon; it would root out my entire
harvest.
Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall
bless us.
The earth has yielded its harvest; God, our God, blesses us.
And
sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.
They
sow fields and plant vineyards that yield a fruitful
harvest.
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your harvest;
Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
it prepares its provisions in summer; it gathers its food at harvest.
My fruit is better than gold,
yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
My fruit is better than gold, pure gold, and my harvest surpasses choice silver.
He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
He who gathers in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.
Where no oxen are, the
crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
Where there are no oxen, the
manger is empty, but an abundant
harvest comes through the strength of the ox.
A man’s
belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
From the fruit of his mouth a man’s
belly is filled; with the
harvest from his lips he is satisfied.
The
sluggard will not
plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he
beg in
harvest, and have nothing.
The slacker does not
plow in season; at
harvest time he looks, but nothing is there.
As the cold of snow in the time of
harvest, so is a faithful
messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.
Like the cold of snow in the time of
harvest is a
trustworthy messenger to those who send him; he refreshes the soul of his masters.
As snow in summer, and as rain in
harvest, so honour is not seemly for a
fool.
Like snow in summer and rain at
harvest, honor does not
befit a
fool.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in
harvest, and as men
rejoice when they divide the
spoil.
You have enlarged the nation and increased its joy. The people
rejoice before You as they
rejoice at
harvest time, as men
rejoice in dividing the
plunder.
Therefore I will
bewail with the
weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O
Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the
shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy
harvest is fallen.
So I
weep with Jazer for the vines of Sibmah; I
drench Heshbon and Elealeh with my tears.
Triumphant shouts have fallen silent over your summer fruit and your
harvest.
And it shall be as when the
harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of
Rephaim.
as the
reaper gathers the standing grain and
harvests the ears with his arm, as one gleans heads of grain in the Valley of
Rephaim.
In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to
flourish: but the
harvest shall be a
heap in the day of grief and of
desperate sorrow.
though on the day you plant you make them grow, and on that morning you help your seed
sprout— yet the
harvest will
vanish on the day of disease and incurable pain.
For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of
dew in the heat of
harvest.
For this is what the LORD has told me: “I will quietly look on from My dwelling place, like
shimmering heat in the
sunshine, like a cloud of
dew in the heat of
harvest.”
For
afore the
harvest, when the
bud is perfect, and the
sour grape is
ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruninghooks, and take away and cut down the branches.
For before the
harvest, when the
blossom is gone and the flower becomes a
ripening grape, He will cut off the shoots with a
pruning knife and remove and discard the branches.
And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the
harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a
mart of nations.
On the great waters came the grain of Shihor; the harvest of the Nile was the revenue of Tyre; she was the merchant of the nations.
When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the
shaking of an olive tree, and as the
gleaning grapes when the
vintage is done.
So will it be on the earth and among the nations, like a
harvested olive tree, like a
gleaning after a
grape harvest.
And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a
fading flower, and as the
hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it
seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
The
fading flower of his beautiful
splendor, set on the summit above the fertile valley, will be like a ripe fig before the summer
harvest:
Whoever sees it will take it in his hand and
swallow it.
Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the
vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.
In a little more than a year you will
tremble, O secure ones. For the
grape harvest will fail and the fruit
harvest will not arrive.
But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my
holiness.
For those who harvest grain will eat it and praise the LORD, and those who gather grapes will drink the wine in My holy courts.”
Israel was
holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that
devour him shall
offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.
Israel was holy to the LORD, the firstfruits of His
harvest. All who
devoured her found themselves guilty;
disaster came upon them,’” declares the LORD.
And they shall eat up thine
harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall
impoverish thy
fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.
They will
devour your
harvest and food; they will
consume your sons and daughters; they will eat up your flocks and herds; they will feed on your vines and fig trees. With the sword they will destroy the fortified cities in which you trust.”
Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
They have not said in their hearts, ‘Let us fear the LORD our God, who gives the rains, both autumn and spring, in season, who keeps for us the appointed weeks of harvest.’
I will surely
consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall
fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.
I will take away their harvest, declares the LORD. There will be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the tree, and even the leaf will wither. Whatever I have given them will be lost to them.”
The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
“The harvest has passed, the summer has ended, but we have not been saved.”
Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the
harvestman, and none shall gather them.
Declare that this is what the LORD says: “The corpses of men will fall like dung upon the open field, like newly cut grain behind the
reaper, with no one to gather it.”
They have sown wheat, but shall
reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be
ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
They have sown wheat but
harvested thorns. They have exhausted themselves to no
avail. Bear the shame of your
harvest because of the fierce anger of the LORD.”
O vine of Sibmah, I will
weep for thee with the
weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the
spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy
vintage.
I will
weep for you, O vine of Sibmah, more than I
weep for Jazer. Your tendrils have extended to the sea; they reach even to Jazer. The destroyer has descended on your summer fruit and
grape harvest.
Cut off the
sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the
sickle in the time of
harvest: for fear of the
oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall
flee every one to his own land.
Cut off the
sower from Babylon, and the one who wields the
sickle at
harvest time. In the face of the
oppressor’s sword, each will turn to his own people, each will
flee to his own land.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to
thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her
harvest shall come.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “The Daughter of Babylon is like a
threshing floor at the time it is
trampled. In just a little while her
harvest time will come.”
Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.
Also for you, O Judah, a harvest is appointed, when I restore My people from captivity.
Be ye
ashamed, O ye
husbandmen;
howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the
harvest of the field is perished.
Be dismayed, O farmers,
wail, O vinedressers, over the wheat and barley, because the
harvest of the field has perished.
Put ye in the
sickle, for the
harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
Swing the
sickle, for the
harvest is ripe. Come,
trample the grapes, for the winepress is full; the wine vats overflow because their wickedness is great.
And also I have
withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the
harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece
whereupon it rained not
withered.
“I also
withheld the rain from you when the
harvest was three months away. I sent rain on one city but
withheld it from another. One field received rain; another without rain
withered.
Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king’s mowings.
This is what the Lord GOD showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts just after the king’s harvest, as the late spring crop was coming up.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye
clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a
bag with holes.
You have planted much but
harvested little. You eat but never have enough. You drink but never have your fill. You put on clothes but never get warm. You
earn wages to put into a
bag pierced through.”
Then saith he unto his disciples, The
harvest truly is
plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Then He said to His disciples, “The
harvest is
plentiful, but the workers are few.
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.”
Let both grow together until the
harvest: and in the time of
harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my
barn.
Let both grow together until the
harvest. At that time I will tell the
harvesters: First collect the weeds and
tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my
barn.’”
The enemy that
sowed them is the devil; the
harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the
husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
When the harvest time drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his share of the fruit.
They say unto him, He will
miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his
vineyard unto other
husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
“He will bring those wretches to a
wretched end,” they replied, “and will rent out the
vineyard to other tenants who will give him his share of the fruit at
harvest time.”
But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the
sickle, because the
harvest is come.
And as soon as the grain is ripe, he swings the
sickle, because the
harvest has come.”
At
harvest time, he sent a servant to the tenants to collect his share of the fruit of the
vineyard.
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
And He told them, “The
harvest is
plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the
harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His
harvest.
And at the season he sent a servant to the
husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the
vineyard: but the
husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.
At
harvest time, he sent a servant to the tenants to collect his share of the fruit of the
vineyard. But the tenants beat the servant and sent him away empty-handed.
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
Do you not say, ‘There are still four months until the harvest’? I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for harvest.
Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that
oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, how often I
planned to come to you (but have been prevented from visiting until now), in order that I might have a
harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.
Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should
plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be
partaker of his hope.
Isn’t He actually speaking on our behalf? Indeed, this was written for us, because when the
plowman plows and the
thresher threshes, they should also expect to share in the
harvest.
If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall
reap your
carnal things?
If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much for us to
reap a material
harvest from you?
Now he that ministereth seed to the
sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
Now He who supplies seed to the
sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your store of seed and will increase the
harvest of your righteousness.
