heart.

Knowing what they were thinking, Jesus replied, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?
A good man out of the good
treasure of his
heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil
treasure of his
heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the
heart his mouth speaketh.
The good man brings good things out of the good
treasure of his
heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil
treasure of his
heart. For out of the overflow of the
heart, the mouth speaks.
Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
The seeds along the path are those who hear, but the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.
But that on the good ground are they, which in an
honest and good
heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with
patience.
But the seeds on good soil are those with a noble and good
heart, who hear the word,
cling to it, and by
persevering produce a crop.
And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

neighbor as
yourself.’”

treasure is, there will your
heart be also.

heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be
drunken;

heart, ‘My master will be a long time in coming,’ and he begins to beat the menservants and maidservants, and to eat and drink and get
drunk.
And he said unto them, Ye are they which
justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your
hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is
abomination in the sight of God.
So He said to them, “You are the ones who
justify yourselves before men, but God knows your
hearts. For what is prized among men is
detestable before God.
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to
faint;
Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray at all times and not lose heart:
Settle it therefore in your
hearts, not to
meditate before what ye shall answer:
Men’s
hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be
shaken.
Men will
faint from fear and
anxiety over what is coming upon the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be
shaken.
Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
Then Jesus said to them, “O
foolish ones, how slow are your
hearts to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
“Why are you troubled,” Jesus asked, “and why do doubts arise in your hearts?
He hath blinded their eyes, and
hardened their
heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their
heart, and be converted, and I should
heal them.
“He has blinded their eyes and
hardened their
hearts, so that they cannot see with their eyes, and understand with their
hearts, and turn, and I would
heal them.”
The evening meal was underway, and the devil had already put into the
heart of
Judas, the son of Simon
Iscariot, to
betray Jesus.
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe in Me as well.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.
But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
Instead, your hearts are filled with sorrow because I have told you these things.
And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your
heart shall
rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your
hearts will
rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the
hearts of all men,
shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
And they prayed, “Lord, You know
everyone’s
heart. Show us which of these two You have chosen
Therefore did my
heart rejoice, and my tongue was
glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
Therefore my
heart is
glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell in hope,
Now when they heard this, they were
pricked in their
heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
And they, continuing daily with one
accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with
gladness and singleness of
heart,
With one
accord they continued to meet daily in the temple courts and to break bread from house to house, sharing their meals with
gladness and
sincerity of
heart,
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
The multitude of believers was one in heart and soul. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they owned.
But Peter said,
Ananias, why hath
Satan filled thine
heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Then Peter said, “
Ananias, how is it that
Satan has filled your
heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and
withhold some of the proceeds from the land?
Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine
heart? thou hast not
lied unto men, but unto God.
Did it not belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, was it not at your
disposal? How could you conceive such a deed in your
heart? You have not
lied to men, but to God!”
When they heard that, they were cut to the
heart, and took counsel to
slay them.
When the Council members heard this, they were
enraged, and they resolved to put the apostles to death.

Ye stiffnecked and
uncircumcised in
heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
You stiff-necked people with
uncircumcised hearts and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit, just as your fathers did.
When they heard these things, they were cut to the
heart, and they
gnashed on him with their teeth.
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
You have no part or share in our ministry, because your heart is not right before God.
Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine
heart may be
forgiven thee.
Repent, therefore, of your wickedness, and pray to the Lord. Perhaps He will
forgive you for the intent of your
heart.
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was
glad, and
exhorted them all, that with purpose of
heart they would
cleave unto the Lord.
When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he
rejoiced and encouraged them all to
abide in the Lord with all their
hearts.
And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of
Jesse, a man after mine own
heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
After removing Saul, He raised up David as their king and
testified about him: ‘I have found David son of
Jesse a man after My own
heart; he will carry out My will in its
entirety.’
Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our
hearts with food and
gladness.
Yet He has not left Himself without testimony to His goodness: He gives you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your
hearts with food and
gladness.”
And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
And God, who knows the
heart, showed His
approval by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as He did to us.
And put no difference between us and them,
purifying their
hearts by faith.
He made no distinction between us and them, for He
cleansed their
hearts by faith.
And a certain woman named
Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of
Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose
heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
Among those
listening was a woman named
Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of
Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her
heart to
respond to Paul’s message.
Then Paul answered, What mean ye to
weep and to break mine
heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
Then Paul answered, “Why are you
weeping and breaking my
heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
For the
heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their
heart, and should be converted, and I should
heal them.
For this people’s
heart has grown
callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their
hearts, and turn, and I would
heal them.’
Because that, when they knew God, they
glorified him not as God, neither were
thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their
foolish heart was
darkened.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity for the dishonoring of their bodies with one another.
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable,
unmerciful:
They are senseless, faithless,
heartless,
merciless.
But after thy hardness and
impenitent heart treasurest up unto
thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
But because of your hard and
unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against
yourself for the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.
Which
shew the work of the law written in their
hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while
accusing or else
excusing one another;)
So they show that the work of the law is written on their
hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts either
accusing or defending them
But he is a
Jew, which is one inwardly; and
circumcision is that of the
heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
No, a man is a
Jew because he is one inwardly, and
circumcision is a matter of the
heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise does not come from men, but from God.
And hope maketh not
ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our
hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
And hope does not
disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our
hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.
But God be
thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the
heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
But
thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed.
And he that searcheth the
hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh
intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
That I have great
heaviness and continual sorrow in my
heart.
I have deep sorrow and unceasing
anguish in my
heart.
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is for their salvation.
But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine
heart, Who shall
ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your
heart, ‘Who will
ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down)
But what saith it? The word is
nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy
heart: that is, the word of faith, which we
preach;
But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your
heart,” that is, the word of faith we are
proclaiming:
That if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
that if you
confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your
heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For with your
heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you
confess and are saved.
For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own
belly; and by good words and fair speeches
deceive the
hearts of the simple.
For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and
flattery they
deceive the
hearts of the
naive.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Rather, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will
expose the motives of men’s
hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
Nevertheless he that standeth
stedfast in his
heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his
heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.
But the man who is firmly established in his
heart and under no
constraint, with control over his will and
resolve in his
heart not to marry the virgin, he will do well.
And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
and the secrets of his
heart will be made known. So he will fall facedown and worship God,
proclaiming, “God is truly among you!”
Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
placed His seal on us, and put His Spirit in our
hearts as a
pledge of what is to come.
For out of much
affliction and
anguish of
heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be
grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.
For through many tears I wrote you out of great distress and
anguish of
heart, not to
grieve you but to let you know how much I love you.
Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in
fleshy tables of the
heart.
It is clear that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the
vail is upon their
heart.
And even to this day when Moses is read, a
veil covers their
hearts.
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we
faint not;
Therefore, since God in His mercy has given us this ministry, we do not lose heart.
For God, who commanded the light to
shine out of darkness, hath
shined in our
hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
For God, who said, “Let light
shine out of darkness,” made His light
shine in our
hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
For which cause we
faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day by day.
For we
commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in
heart.
We are not
commending ourselves to you again. Instead, we are giving you an occasion to be proud of us, so that you can answer those who take pride in appearances rather than in the
heart.
O ye
Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our
heart is enlarged.
We have spoken freely to you,
Corinthians. Our
hearts are open wide.
Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.
As a fair exchange, I ask you as my children: Open wide your hearts also.
Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have
defrauded no man.
Make room for us in your hearts. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one.
I speak not this to
condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our
hearts to die and live with you.
I do not say this to
condemn you. I have said before that you so occupy our
hearts that we live and die together with you.
But
thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the
heart of
Titus for you.
But
thanks be to God, who put into the
heart of
Titus the same devotion I have for you.
Every man according as he purposeth in his
heart, so let him give; not
grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a
cheerful giver.
Each one should give what he has decided in his
heart to give, not out of
regret or
compulsion. For God loves a
cheerful giver.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your
hearts, crying,
Abba, Father.
And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our
hearts, crying out, “
Abba, Father!”
The eyes of your understanding being
enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
I ask that the eyes of your
heart may be
enlightened, so that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints,
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love,
Having the understanding
darkened, being
alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their
heart:
They are
darkened in their understanding and
alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their
hearts.
Speaking to
yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
melody in your
heart to the Lord;
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord,
Servants, be
obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and
trembling, in singleness of your
heart, as unto Christ;
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear and
sincerity of
heart, just as you would obey Christ.
Not with
eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the
heart;
And do this not only to please them while they are watching, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.
Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about us, and that he may
encourage your
hearts.
Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my
heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and
confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my
heart. For in my chains and in my
defense and
confirmation of the gospel, you are all partners in grace with me.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
That their
hearts might be comforted, being
knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the
mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
that they may be encouraged in
heart,
knit together in love, and filled with the full riches of complete understanding, so that they may know the
mystery of God, namely Christ,
And let the peace of God rule in your
hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye
thankful.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your
hearts, for to this you were called as members of one body. And be
thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and
admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your
hearts to the Lord.
Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and
admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with
gratitude in your
hearts to God.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with
eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of
heart, fearing God:
Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything, not only to please them while they are watching, but with
sincerity of
heart and fear of the Lord.
Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men,
Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;
I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about us, and that he may
encourage your
hearts.
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
Instead, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, not in order to please men but God, who examines our hearts.
