And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be
baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the
Lord.
And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be
baptized, and wash your sins away, calling on His name.’
And saw him saying unto me, Make
haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
and saw the
Lord saying to me, ‘
Hurry! Leave Jerusalem quickly, because the people here will not accept your testimony about Me.’
And I said,
Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every
synagogue them that believed on thee:
‘
Lord,’ I answered, ‘they know very well that in one
synagogue after another I imprisoned and beat those who believed in You.
And the night following the
Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good
cheer, Paul: for as thou hast
testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.
The following night the
Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have
testified about Me in Jerusalem, so also you must
testify in Rome.”
Of whom I have no certain thing to write unto my
lord. Wherefore I have brought him forth before you, and specially before thee, O king
Agrippa, that, after examination had, I might have somewhat to write.
I have nothing definite to write to our sovereign one about him. Therefore I have brought him before all of you, and especially before you, King
Agrippa, so that after this inquiry I may have something to write.
And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
‘Who are You,
Lord?’ I asked. ‘I am Jesus, whom you are
persecuting,’ the
Lord replied.
Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which
concern the
Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man
forbidding him.
Boldly and freely he proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.
Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
regarding His Son, who was a
descendant of David according to the flesh,
And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of
holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
and who through the Spirit of
holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our
Lord.
To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed is the man to whom the
Lord will not
impute sin.
Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.”
But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
but also for us, to whom righteousness will be credited—for us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our
Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the
atonement.
Not only that, but we also
rejoice in God through our
Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received
reconciliation.
That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Likewise
reckon ye also
yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our
Lord.
So you too must count
yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I
thank God through Jesus Christ our
Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our
Lord! So then, with my mind I serve the law of God, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
For the Lord will carry out His sentence on the earth thoroughly and decisively.”
And as Esaias said before, Except the
Lord of
Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as
Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
It is just as Isaiah
foretold: “Unless the
Lord of Hosts had left us descendants, we would have become like
Sodom, we would have resembled
Gomorrah.”
That if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
that if you
confess with your mouth, “Jesus is
Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For there is no difference between the
Jew and the Greek: for the same
Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
For there is no difference between
Jew and Greek: The same
Lord is
Lord of all, and gives richly to all who call on Him,
For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved.
for, “
Everyone who calls on the name of the
Lord will be saved.”
But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
But not all of them
welcomed the good news. For Isaiah says, “
Lord, who has believed our message?”
Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and
digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
“
Lord, they have killed Your prophets and
torn down Your altars. I am the only one left, and they are seeking my life as well”?
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
“Who has known the mind of the
Lord? Or who has been His
counselor?”
Do not let your zeal
subside; keep your spiritual
fervor, serving the
Lord.
Do not
avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: “
Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the
Lord.”
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Instead,
clothe yourselves with the
Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.
Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth.
Yea, he shall be
holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the
Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the
Lord he
doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the
Lord, for he giveth God
thanks; and he that eateth not, to the
Lord he eateth not, and giveth God
thanks.
He who observes a special day does so to the
Lord; he who eats does so to the
Lord, for he gives
thanks to God; and he who abstains does so to the
Lord and gives
thanks to God.
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
For this reason Christ died and returned to life, that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
For it is written, As I live, saith the
Lord, every
knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall
confess to God.
It is written: “As surely as I live, says the
Lord, every
knee will bow before Me; every tongue will
confess to God.”
I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
I am
convinced and fully persuaded in the
Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself. But if
anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.
That ye may with one mind and one mouth
glorify God, even the Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
so that with one mind and one voice you may
glorify the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
And again, Praise the
Lord, all ye Gentiles; and
laud him, all ye people.
And again: “Praise the
Lord, all you Gentiles, and
extol Him, all you peoples.”
Now I
beseech you, brethren, for the
Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye
strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
Now I
urge you, brothers, by our
Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.
That ye receive her in the
Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in
whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.
Welcome her in the
Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and assist her with anything she may need from you. For she has been a great help to many people, including me.
Greet Amplias my beloved in the
Lord.
Greet Ampliatus, my beloved in the
Lord.
Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the
Lord.
Salute the beloved
Persis, which laboured much in the
Lord.
Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, women who have worked hard in the
Lord.
Greet my beloved
Persis, who has worked very hard in the
Lord.
Salute Rufus chosen in the
Lord, and his mother and mine.
Greet Rufus, chosen in the
Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me as well.
For they that are such serve not our
Lord Jesus Christ, but their own
belly; and by good words and fair speeches
deceive the hearts of the simple.
For such people are not serving our
Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and
flattery they
deceive the hearts of the
naive.
And the God of peace shall
bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our
Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
Amen.
The God of peace will soon
crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our
Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
I Tertius, who wrote this epistle,
salute you in the
Lord.
I, Tertius, who wrote down this letter,
greet you in the
Lord.
The grace of our
Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Amen.
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are
sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our
Lord, both theirs and ours:
To the church of God in Corinth, to those
sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, their
Lord and ours:
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly
await the revelation of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
Who shall also
confirm you unto the end, that ye may be
blameless in the day of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
He will
sustain you to the end, so that you will be
blameless on the day of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the
fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our
Lord.
God, who has called you into
fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our
Lord, is faithful.
Now I
beseech you, brethren, by the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree together, so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be united in mind and conviction.
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts
boast in the
Lord.”
Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have
crucified the
Lord of glory.
None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have
crucified the
Lord of glory.
For who hath known the mind of the
Lord, that he may
instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
“For who has known the mind of the
Lord, so as to
instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, as the
Lord has assigned to each his
role.
And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
And again, “The
Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are
futile.”
For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not
hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the
Lord.
My conscience is clear, but that does not
vindicate me. It is the
Lord who judges me.
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the
Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will
expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
For this cause have I sent unto you
Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the
Lord, who shall bring you into
remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
That is why I have sent you
Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the
Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which is exactly what I teach everywhere in every church.
But I will come to you shortly, if the
Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are
puffed up, but the power.
But I will come to you shortly, if the
Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only what these
arrogant people are saying, but what power they have.
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, along with the power of the Lord Jesus,
To deliver such an one unto
Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the
Lord Jesus.
hand this man over to
Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the Day of the
Lord.
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are
sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the
Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were
sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the
Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Meats for the
belly, and the
belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for
fornication, but for the
Lord; and the
Lord for the body.
“Food for the stomach and the stomach for food,” but God will destroy them both. The body is not intended for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
By His power God raised the Lord from the dead, and He will raise us also.
But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit.
And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband.
But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
To the rest I say this (I, not the
Lord): If a brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not
divorce her.
But as God hath distributed to every man, as the
Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so
ordain I in all churches.
Regardless, each one should lead the life that the
Lord has assigned to him and to which God has called him. This is what I
prescribe in all the churches.
For he that is called in the
Lord, being a servant, is the
Lord’s
freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.
For he who was a slave when he was called by the
Lord is the
Lord’s
freedman.
Conversely, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave.
Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.
Now about virgins, I have no command from the
Lord, but I give a judgment as one who by the
Lord’s mercy is
trustworthy.
But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
I want you to be free from
concern. The unmarried man is concerned about the work of the
Lord, how he can please the
Lord.
There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
and his interests are divided. The unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the work of the Lord, how she can be holy in both body and spirit. But the married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world, how she can please her husband.
And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a
snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the
Lord without distraction.
I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but in order to promote proper
decorum and undivided devotion to the
Lord.
The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry
anyone she wishes, as long as he belongs to the
Lord.
For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many so-called gods and lords),
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we exist. And there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we exist.
Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our
Lord? Are you
yourselves not my
workmanship in the
Lord?
If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine
apostleship are ye in the
Lord.
Even if I am not an apostle to others, surely I am to you. For you are the seal of my
apostleship in the
Lord.
Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the
Lord, and
Cephas?
Have we no right to take along a believing wife, as do the other apostles and the
Lord’s brothers and
Cephas?
Even so hath the
Lord ordained that they which
preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
In the same way, the
Lord has prescribed that those who
preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.
You cannot drink the cup of the
Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot
partake in the table of the
Lord and the table of demons too.
Do we
provoke the
Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
Are we trying to
provoke the
Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
For the earth is the
Lord’s, and the
fulness thereof.
for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.”
But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the
Lord’s, and the
fulness thereof:
But if someone tells you, “This food was offered to idols,” then do not eat it, for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience—
Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.
When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the
Lord’s
supper.
Now then, when you come together, it is not the
Lord’s
Supper you eat.
For I have received of the
Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the
Lord Jesus the same night in which he was
betrayed took bread:
For I received from the
Lord what I also passed on to you: The
Lord Jesus, on the night He was
betrayed, took bread,
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do
shew the
Lord’s death till he come.
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you
proclaim the
Lord’s death until He comes.
Wherefore
whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the
Lord,
unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the
Lord.
Therefore,
whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the
Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of
sinning against the body and blood of the
Lord.
For
anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.
But when we are judged, we are
chastened of the
Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus
accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the
Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Therefore I inform you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be
cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is
Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
There are different ministries, but the same Lord.
In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
It is written in the Law: “By strange tongues and foreign lips I will speak to this people, but even then they will not
listen to Me, says the
Lord.”
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
If
anyone considers himself a prophet or spiritual person, let him acknowledge that what I am writing you is the
Lord’s command.
I face death every day, brothers, as surely as I
boast about you in Christ Jesus our
Lord.
