Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
Although by this time you ought to be teachers, you
need someone to reteach you the
basic principles of God’s word. You
need milk, not solid food!
If therefore perfection were by the
Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further
need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
Now if perfection could have been attained through the
Levitical priesthood (for on this basis the people received the law), why was there still
need for another priest to appear—one in the order of
Melchizedek and not in the order of Aaron?
Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
Unlike the other high priests, He does not need to offer daily sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people; He sacrificed for sin once for all when He offered up Himself.
Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
And where these have been
forgiven, an offering for sin is no longer
needed.

godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

need for life and
godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
But the
anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye
need not that any man teach you: but as the same
anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall
abide in him.
And as for you, the
anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not
need anyone to teach you. But just as His true and genuine
anointing teaches you about all things, so remain in Him as you have been taught.
But
whoso hath this world’s good, and
seeth his brother have
need, and shutteth up his
bowels of
compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
If
anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in
need, but withholds his
compassion from him, how can the love of God
abide in him?

diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was
needful for me to write unto you, and
exhort you that ye should earnestly
contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

urge you to
contend earnestly for the faith entrusted once for all to the saints.

need of the sun, neither of the moon, to
shine in it: for the glory of God did

need of sun or moon to
shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its lamp.

need no
candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
