lame shall not come into the house.

abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong.

And king David sent to
Zadok and to
Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, even to his house.

And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.
Later, Solomon formed an alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt by marrying his daughter. Solomon brought her to the City of David until he had finished building his palace and the house of the LORD, as well as the wall around Jerusalem.
And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.
Ahishar was in charge of the palace; and Adoniram son of Abda was in charge of the forced labor.
And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.
Then he carved the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer
sanctuaries, with carved engravings of
cherubim,
palm trees, and open flowers.
The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.
The double doors were made of olive wood, and he carved into them
cherubim,
palm trees, and open flowers and overlaid the
cherubim and
palm trees with hammered gold.
And he carved
thereon cherubims and
palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.
He carved into them
cherubim,
palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold, hammered evenly over the carvings.
But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.
Solomon, however, took thirteen years to complete the construction of his entire palace.
And his house where he dwelt had another court within the
porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this
porch.
And the palace where Solomon would live, set further back, was of similar construction. He also made a palace like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had married.
For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.
He engraved
cherubim, lions, and
palm trees on the surfaces of the supports and panels, wherever each had space, with
wreaths all around.
And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,
Now when Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD and the royal palace, and had achieved all that he had desired to do,
And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the king’s house,
Now at the end of the twenty years during which Solomon built these two houses, the house of the LORD and the royal palace,
And this is the reason of the
levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and
Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and
Megiddo, and
Gezer.
This is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon imposed to build the house of the LORD, his own
palace, the supporting terraces, and the wall of Jerusalem, as well as Hazor,
Megiddo, and
Gezer.
But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build
Millo.
As soon as Pharaoh’s daughter had come up from the City of David to the palace that Solomon had built for her, he built the supporting terraces.
And when the queen of
Sheba had seen all Solomon’s wisdom, and the house that he had built,
When the queen of
Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon, the
palace he had built,
And the king made of the
almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king’s house, harps also and
psalteries for singers: there came no such
almug trees, nor were seen unto this day.
The king made the
almug wood into steps for the house of the LORD and for the king’s
palace, and into lyres and harps for the singers. Never before had such
almug wood been brought in, nor has such been seen to this day.)
And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes
weaned in Pharaoh’s house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh’s household among the sons of Pharaoh.
And the sister of Tahpenes bore
Hadad a son named Genubath. Tahpenes herself
weaned him in Pharaoh’s
palace, and Genubath lived there among the sons of Pharaoh.
And he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
He seized the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the royal palace. He took everything, including all the gold shields that Solomon had made.
And king
Rehoboam made in their
stead brasen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king’s house.

Rehoboam made bronze shields in their place and committed them to the care of the captains of the guard on duty at the entrance to the royal
palace.
Then
Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king
Asa sent them to Ben-
hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
So
Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the
treasuries of the house of the LORD and the royal
palace. He entrusted it to his servants and sent them with this message to Ben-
hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion king of
Aram, who was ruling in Damascus:
And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the palace of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,

And
Ahab called
Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now
Obadiah feared the LORD greatly:
and
Ahab summoned
Obadiah, who was in charge of the
palace. (Now
Obadiah greatly feared the LORD,
Yet I will send my servants unto thee to
morrow about this time, and they shall search thine house, and the houses of thy servants; and it shall be, that
whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away.
But about this time
tomorrow I will send my servants to search your
palace and the houses of your servants. They will seize and carry away all that is precious to you.’”
And it came to pass after these things, that
Naboth the Jezreelite had a
vineyard, which was in
Jezreel, hard by the
palace of
Ahab king of Samaria.
And
Ahab spake unto
Naboth, saying, Give me thy
vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better
vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.
So
Ahab said to
Naboth, “Give me your
vineyard to use as a vegetable garden, since it is next to my
palace. I will give you a better
vineyard in its place—or if you
prefer, I will give you its value in silver.”
And
Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which
Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.
So
Ahab went to his
palace,
sullen and
angry because
Naboth the Jezreelite had told him, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” He lay down on his bed, turned his face away, and refused to eat.
Now the rest of the acts of
Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
As for the rest of the acts of
Ahab, along with all his accomplishments and the ivory

And they went to
bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the
palms of her hands.
But when they went out to
bury her, they found nothing but her skull, her feet, and the
palms of her hands.
And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to
Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt
bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.
So the
palace administrator, the
overseer of the city, the elders, and the guardians sent a message to
Jehu: “We are your servants, and we will do whatever you say. We will not make
anyone king. Do whatever is good in your sight.”
And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that ye shall do; A third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keepers of the watch of the king’s house;

And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king’s house: and there was she slain.

palace grounds, and there she was put to death.
And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the LORD, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king’s house. And he sat on the throne of the kings.
He took with him the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, the guards, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the LORD and entered the royal
palace by way of the Gate of the Guards. Then
Joash took his seat on the royal throne,
And all the people of the land
rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they
slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king’s house.
and all the people of the land
rejoiced. And the city was quiet, because
Athaliah had been put to the sword at the royal
palace.

hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king’s house, and sent it to
Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.
So King
Joash of Judah took all the sacred objects dedicated by his fathers—
Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, and
Ahaziah, the kings of Judah—along with his own consecrated items and all the gold found in the
treasuries of the house of the LORD and the royal
palace, and he sent them to
Hazael king of
Aram. So
Hazael withdrew from Jerusalem.
And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king’s house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.
He took all the gold and silver and all the articles found in the house of the LORD and in the
treasuries of the royal
palace, as well as some hostages. Then he returned to Samaria.
And the LORD
smote the king, so that he was a
leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king’s son was over the house, judging the people of the land.
And the LORD
afflicted the king with
leprosy until the day he died, so that he lived in a separate house while his son Jotham had charge of the
palace and governed the people of the land.
But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his,
conspired against him, and
smote him in Samaria, in the
palace of the king’s house, with
Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.
Then his officer, Pekah son of Remaliah,
conspired against him along with
Argob, Arieh, and fifty men of
Gilead. And at the citadel of the king’s
palace in Samaria, Pekah struck down and killed Pekahiah and reigned in his place.
And
Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king’s house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.
Ahaz also took the silver and gold found in the house of the LORD and in the
treasuries of the king’s
palace, and he sent it as a gift to the king of Assyria.
And
Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king’s house.
Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of the LORD and in the
treasuries of the royal
palace.
And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the
scribe, and Joah the son of
Asaph the recorder.
Then they called for the king; and Eliakim son of Hilkiah the
palace administrator, Shebnah the
scribe, and Joah son of
Asaph the recorder, went out to them.
Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the
scribe, and Joah the son of
Asaph the recorder, to
Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of
Rab-shakeh.
And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the
scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with
sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
And he sent Eliakim the
palace administrator, Shebna the
scribe, and the leading priests, all wearing
sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz
And
Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious
ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that
Hezekiah shewed them not.
And
Hezekiah received the envoys and showed them all that was in his
treasure house—the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, as well as his
armory—all that was found in his storehouses. There was nothing in his
palace or in all his dominion that
Hezekiah did not show them.
And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And
Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
“What have they seen in your
palace?” Isaiah asked. “They have seen everything in my
palace,” answered
Hezekiah. “There is nothing among my treasures that I did not show them.”
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
The time will surely come when everything in your palace and all that your fathers have stored up until this day will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD.
And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt
beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the
palace of the king of Babylon.
And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood, will be taken away to be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”
And
Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his
stead.
And
Manasseh rested with his fathers and was buried in his
palace garden, the garden of Uzza. And his son Amon reigned in his place.
And the servants of Amon
conspired against him, and
slew the king in his own house.
Then the servants of Amon
conspired against him and killed the king in his
palace.
And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.
As the LORD had declared,
Nebuchadnezzar also carried off all the treasures from the house of the LORD and the royal
palace, and he cut into pieces all the gold articles that Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD.
And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man’s house burnt he with fire.
He burned down the house of the LORD, the royal
palace, and all the houses of Jerusalem—every
significant building.

Now
Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.
Now
Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, along with
cedar logs, stonemasons, and carpenters, to build a

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to
Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains.
After David had settled into his
palace, he said to
Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a house of
cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under a tent.”
Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the
palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.
Then King David said to the whole assembly, “My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is young and inexperienced. The task is great because this palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.
And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy
testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the
palace, for the which I have made provision.
And give my son Solomon a whole heart to keep and carry out all Your commandments, decrees, and statutes, and to build Your palace for which I have made provision.”
And Solomon determined to build an house for the name of the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.
Now Solomon purposed to build a house for the Name of the LORD and a royal palace for himself.
