perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be
forgiven.’”

defile him,

perceived that the one part were
Sadducees, and the other
Pharisees, he
cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a
Pharisee, the son of a

Then Paul, knowing that some of them were

Pharisee, the son of a
Pharisee. It is because of my hope in the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial.”

cargo, but to our own lives as well.”

sorry with a letter, I do not
repent, though I did

sorry, though it were but for a season.
Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not
regret it. Although I did
regret it, I now see that my letter caused you sorrow, but only for a short time.
And when James,
Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars,
perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and
Barnabas the right hands of
fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the
circumcision.

Cephas, and John—those reputed to be pillars—gave me and
Barnabas the right hand of
fellowship, so that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the
circumcised.

perceived, but only dust and smell of smoke: when I saw this I was afraid.
For ye cannot find the depth of the heart of man, neither can ye
perceive the things that he thinketh: then how can ye search out God, that hath made all these things, and know his mind, or

Nay, my brethren,
provoke not the Lord our God to anger.

perceived that I could not otherwise obtain her, except God gave her me; and that was a point of wisdom also to know whose gift she was; I prayed unto the Lord, and
besought him, and with my whole heart I said,
For
sometime the flame was
mitigated, that it might not burn up the beasts that were sent against the ungodly; but themselves might see and
perceive that they were
persecuted with the judgment of God.
For the elements were changed in themselves by a kind of harmony, like as in a
psaltery notes change the name of the
tune, and yet are always sounds; which may well be
perceived by the sight of the things that have been done.

Notwithstanding, when Maccabeus saw that Nicanor began to be
churlish unto him, and that he
entreated him more roughly than he was
wont,
perceiving that such
sour behaviour came not of good, he gathered together not a few of his men, and withdrew himself from Nicanor.
