And he said unto him, Take me an
heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a
turtledove, and a young
pigeon.
And the LORD said to him, “Bring Me a
heifer, a goat, and a ram, each three years old, along with a
turtledove and a young
pigeon.”
And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.
If, instead, one’s offering to the LORD is a burnt offering of birds, he is to present a
turtledove or a young
pigeon.
And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his
trespass, which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young
pigeons, unto the LORD; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.
If, however, he cannot afford a lamb, he may bring to the LORD as
restitution for his sin two turtledoves or two young
pigeons—one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering.
But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young
pigeons, then he that

And the
swine, though he divide the
hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the
cud; he is unclean to you.
And the
pig, though it has a split
hoof completely divided, does not
chew the
cud; it is unclean for you.
And when the days of her
purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young
pigeon, or a
turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:
When the days of her
purification are complete, whether for a son or for a daughter, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting a year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young
pigeon or a
turtledove for a sin offering.
And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young
pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an
atonement for her, and she shall be clean.
But if she cannot afford a lamb, she shall bring two turtledoves or two young
pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. Then the priest will make
atonement for her, and she will be clean.’”

pigeons,
whichever he can afford,

And the
swine, because it divideth the
hoof, yet cheweth not the
cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead
carcase.
Although they
chew the
cud, they do not have a divided
hoof. They are unclean for you, as well as the
pig; though it has a divided
hoof, it does not
chew the
cud. It is unclean for you. You must not eat its meat or touch its
carcass.
Like a gold ring in a
pig’s
snout is a beautiful woman who lacks
discretion.
Which remain among the graves, and
lodge in the monuments, which eat
swine’s flesh, and
broth of
abominable things is in their vessels;
He that killeth an ox is as if he
slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an
oblation, as if he offered
swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an
idol.
Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
Whoever slaughters an ox is like one who slays a man;
whoever sacrifices a lamb is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever presents a grain offering is like one who offers
pig’s blood;
whoever offers
frankincense is like one who blesses an
idol. Indeed, they have chosen their own ways and delighted in their abominations.
And there was a good way off from them an
herd of many
swine feeding.
In the distance a large
herd of
pigs was feeding.
So the devils
besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the
herd of
swine.
So the demons
begged Jesus, “If You drive us out, send us into the
herd of
pigs.”
And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the
herd of
swine: and, behold, the whole
herd of
swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
“Go!” He told them. So they came out and went into the
pigs, and the whole
herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and died in the waters.
And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was
befallen to the possessed of the devils.
Those tending the
pigs ran off into the town and reported all this, including the account of the
demon-possessed men.
Now there was there
nigh unto the mountains a great
herd of
swine feeding.
There on the nearby
hillside a large
herd of
pigs was feeding.
And all the devils
besought him, saying, Send us into the
swine, that we may enter into them.
So the demons
begged Jesus, “Send us to the
pigs, so that we may enter them.”
And
forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the
swine: and the
herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were
choked in the sea.
He gave them permission, and the unclean spirits came out and went into the
pigs, and the
herd of about two thousand
rushed down the steep bank into the sea and
drowned in the water.
And they that fed the
swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
Those tending the
pigs ran off and reported this in the town and
countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened.
And they that saw it told them how it
befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the
swine.
Those who had seen it described what had happened to the
demon-possessed man and also to the
pigs.
And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
and to offer the sacrifice specified in the Law of the Lord: “A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”
And there was there an
herd of many
swine feeding on the mountain: and they
besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.
There on the
hillside a large
herd of
pigs was feeding. So the demons
begged Jesus to let them enter the
pigs, and He gave them permission.
Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the
swine: and the
herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were
choked.
Then the demons came out of the man and went into the
pigs, and the
herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was
drowned.
When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.
When those tending the
pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and reported this in the town and
countryside.
And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed
swine.
So he went and
hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed the
pigs.
And he would
fain have filled his
belly with the
husks that the
swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
He longed to fill his
belly with the pods the
pigs were eating, but no one would give him a thing.
