You know that I have served your father with all my strength.

power of my hand to do you
hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me
yesternight, saying, Take thou
heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
I have
power to do you great
harm, but last night the God of your father said to me, ‘Be careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.’
And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

power. But I will
harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.
And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to
shew in thee my
power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.

Fear and
dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.

If she please not her master, who hath
betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no
power, seeing he hath dealt
deceitfully with her.
If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who had designated her for himself, he must allow her to be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, since he has broken faith with her.

I will break down your
stubborn pride and make your sky like iron and your land like bronze,
And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
They will
stumble over one another as before the sword, though no one is behind them. So you will not be able to stand against your enemies.
And now, I
beseech thee, let the
power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,
So now I pray, may the
power of my Lord be
magnified, just as You have declared:

Balaam said unto Balak, Lo, I am come unto thee: have I now any
power at all to say any thing? the word that God putteth in my mouth, that shall I speak.

Balaam replied, “but can I say just anything? I must speak only the word that God puts in my mouth.”
O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to
shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?

Because He loved your fathers, He chose their descendants after them and brought you out of Egypt by His presence and great power,
And thou say in thine heart, My
power and the might of mine hand hath
gotten me this wealth.
You might say in your heart, “The power and strength of my hands have made this wealth for me.”
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee
power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he
sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
But remember that it is the LORD your God who gives you the
power to gain wealth, in order to
confirm His covenant that He
swore to your fathers even to this day.

power in your hand.
For the LORD shall judge his people, and
repent himself for his servants, when he

power to
flee this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers.

power: thou shalt not have one lot only:

allotment,
For the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
The LORD has driven out great and powerful nations before you, and to this day no one can stand against you.
And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened
Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.

power over Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.
And the Spirit of the LORD came
mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a
kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.

powerfully upon him, and he
tore the lion apart with his bare hands as one would
tear a young goat. But he did not tell his father or mother what he had done.
The
adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he
thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and
exalt the horn of his
anointed.
Those who
oppose the LORD will be
shattered. He will
thunder from heaven against them. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth and will give
power to His king. He will
exalt the horn of His
anointed.”

hated me: for they were too strong for me.
He
rescued me from my
powerful enemy, from foes too mighty for me.

God is my strong fortress and He makes my way clear.
(And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as
beforetime.
So the LORD gave Israel a deliverer, and they escaped the power of the Arameans. Then the people of Israel lived in their own homes as they had before.
But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.

Therefore their inhabitants were of small
power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green
herb, as the grass on the house tops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
Therefore their inhabitants, devoid of
power, are dismayed and
ashamed. They are like plants in the field, tender green shoots, grass on the rooftops,
scorched before it is grown.
And it came to pass, that after the year was
expired, at the time that kings go out to battle,
Joab led forth the
power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of
Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David
tarried at Jerusalem. And
Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.
In the spring, at the time when kings march out to war,
Joab led out the army and
ravaged the land of the
Ammonites. He came to Rabbah and besieged it, but David remained in Jerusalem. And
Joab attacked Rabbah and
demolished it.
Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the
power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art
exalted as head above all.
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the
power and the glory and the
splendor and the majesty, for everything in heaven and on earth belongs to You. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom, and You are
exalted as head over all.
Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
Both riches and honor come from You, and You are the ruler over all. In Your hands are
power and might to
exalt and give strength to all.
And it came to pass, when
Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he
forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.
After
Rehoboam had established his sovereignty and royal
power, he and all Israel with him
forsook the Law of the LORD.

Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of
Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he died.

power during the days of
Abijah, and the LORD struck him down and he died.
And
Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no
power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.
Then
Asa cried out to the LORD his God: “O LORD, there is no one besides You to help the
powerless against the mighty. Help us, O LORD our God, for we
rely on You, and in Your name we have come against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God. Do not let a mere
mortal prevail against You.”
And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not
power and might, so that none is able to
withstand thee?
and said, “O LORD, God of our fathers, are You not the God who is in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand, and no one can stand against You.
O our God,
wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
Our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this vast army that comes against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”
And he sought
Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was
hid in Samaria,) and brought him to
Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of
Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of
Ahaziah had no
power to keep still the kingdom.
Then
Jehu looked for
Ahaziah, and
Jehu’s soldiers captured him while he was hiding in Samaria. So
Ahaziah was brought to
Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “He is the grandson of
Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart.” So no one was left from the house of
Ahaziah with the strength to rule the kingdom.
But if thou
wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath
power to help, and to cast down.
Even if you go and fight
bravely in battle, God will make you
stumble before the enemy, for God has
power to help and
power to overthrow.”
And the
Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly.

powerful.
And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
Under their authority was an army of 307,500 trained for war, a powerful force to support the king against his enemies.
And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by
cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones
withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.
And in Jerusalem he made
skillfully designed devices to shoot arrows and
catapult large stones from the towers and corners. So his fame spread far and wide, for he was helped
tremendously so that he became
powerful.
But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he
transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
But when Uzziah grew
powerful, his
arrogance led to his own destruction. He was unfaithful to the LORD his God, for he entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.
So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God.
So Jotham grew powerful because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.
Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.
Moreover, the power of God was on the people in Judah to give them one heart to obey the command of the king and his officials according to the word of the LORD.
After this did
Sennacherib king of Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem, (but he himself laid siege against
Lachish, and all his
power with him,) unto
Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that were at Jerusalem, saying,
Later, as
Sennacherib king of Assyria and all his forces besieged
Lachish, he sent his servants to Jerusalem with a message for King
Hezekiah of Judah and all the people of Judah who were in Jerusalem:
And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
Those who escaped the sword were carried by
Nebuchadnezzar into exile in Babylon, and they became servants to him and his sons until the kingdom of Persia came to
power.
Now when the copy of king
Artaxerxes’ letter was read before Rehum, and Shimshai the
scribe, and their companions, they went up in
haste to Jerusalem unto the Jews, and made them to cease by force and
power.
When the text of the letter from King
Artaxerxes was read to Rehum, Shimshai the
scribe, and their associates, they went immediately to the Jews in Jerusalem and
forcibly stopped them.
And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king’s mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
and who has shown me favor before the king, his counselors, and all his powerful officials. And because the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, I took courage and gathered the leaders of Israel to return with me.
For I was
ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and
horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his
power and his wrath is against all them that
forsake him.
For I was
ashamed to ask the king for an
escort of soldiers and
horsemen to protect us from our enemies on the road, since we had told him, “The hand of our God is
gracious to all who seek Him, but His great anger is against all who
forsake Him.”
Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.
They are Your servants and Your people. You redeemed them by Your great power and mighty hand.
Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into
bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto
bondage already: neither is it in our
power to
redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards.
We and our children are just like our countrymen and their children, yet we are subjecting our sons and daughters to slavery. Some of our daughters are already
enslaved, but we are
powerless to
redeem them because our fields and vineyards belong to others.”
In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces, being before him:
In the third year of his reign,
Xerxes held a feast for all his officials and servants. The military leaders of Persia and Media were there, along with the nobles and princes of the provinces.
Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to
slay, and to cause to perish, all the
power of the people and province that would
assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the
spoil of them for a prey,
By these letters the king permitted the Jews in each and every city the right to
assemble and defend themselves, to destroy, kill, and
annihilate all the forces of any people or province hostile to them, including women and children, and to
plunder their possessions.
Now in the
twelfth month, that is, the month
Adar, on the
thirteenth day of the same, when the king’s commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have
power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that
hated them;)
On the
thirteenth day of the
twelfth month, the month of
Adar, the king’s command and edict were to be executed. On this day the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, but their plan was overturned and the Jews overpowered those who
hated them.
For
Mordecai was great in the king’s house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man
Mordecai waxed greater and greater.
For
Mordecai exercised great
power in the palace, and his fame spread throughout the provinces as he became more and more
powerful.
And all the acts of his
power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of
Mordecai,
whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
And all of
Mordecai’s
powerful and magnificent accomplishments, together with the full account of the greatness to which the king had raised him, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Media and Persia?
And the LORD said unto
Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy
power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So
Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
“Very well,” said the LORD to
Satan. “Everything he has is in your hands, but you must not lay a hand on the man himself.” Then
Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
He saves the
needy from the sword in their mouth and from the
clutches of the
powerful.
In famine he shall
redeem thee from death: and in war from the
power of the sword.
In famine He will
redeem you from death, and in battle from the stroke of the sword.
For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou shewest
thyself marvellous upon me.
Should I hold my head high, You would
hunt me like a lion, and again display Your
power against me.
Wherefore do the wicked live, become old,
yea, are mighty in
power?
Why do the wicked live on, growing old and increasing in power?
Will he
plead against me with his great
power? No; but he would put strength in me.
Would He
contend with me in His great
power? No, He would certainly take note of me.
He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.
Yet by His power, God drags away the mighty; though rising up, they have no assurance of life.
How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?
“How you have helped the powerless and saved the arm that is feeble!
He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.
Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the
thunder of his
power who can understand?
Indeed, these are but the fringes of His ways; how
faint is the
whisper we hear of Him! Who then can understand the
thunder of His
power?”
I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the
Almighty will I not
conceal.
For God shall cast upon him, and not
spare: he would
fain flee out of his hand.
It hurls itself against him without mercy as he flees
headlong from its
power.
Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
Behold, God is
exalted in His
power. Who is a teacher like Him?
Touching the
Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in
power, and in judgment, and in
plenty of justice: he will not
afflict.
The
Almighty is beyond our reach; He is
exalted in
power! In His justice and great righteousness He does not
oppress.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the
navel of his
belly.
See the strength of his loins and the
power in the muscles of his
belly.
I will not
conceal his parts, nor his
power, nor his comely proportion.
I cannot keep silent about his limbs, his power and graceful form.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which
hated me: for they were too strong for me.
He
rescued me from my
powerful enemy, from foes too mighty for me.
Now know I that the LORD saveth his
anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
Now I know that the LORD saves His
anointed; He answers him from His holy heaven with the saving
power of His right hand.
Be thou
exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy
power.
Be
exalted, O LORD, in Your strength; we will sing and praise Your
power.
Deliver my soul from the sword; my
darling from the
power of the dog.
Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of wild dogs.
The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
The voice of the LORD is
powerful; the voice of the LORD is
majestic.
The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor
condemn him when he is judged.
the LORD will not leave them in their power or let them be condemned under judgment.
I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
I have seen a wicked,
ruthless man flourishing like a well-rooted native tree,
But God will
redeem my soul from the
power of the grave: for he shall receive me.
Selah.
But God will
redeem my life from
Sheol, for He will surely take me to Himself.
Selah Slay them not, lest my people
forget:
scatter them by thy
power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
Do not kill them, or my people will
forget.
Scatter them by Your
power, and bring them down, O Lord, our shield.
But I will sing of thy
power;
yea, I will sing
aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
But I will sing of Your strength and
proclaim Your loving devotion in the morning. For You are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
God has spoken once; I have heard this twice: that power belongs to God,
To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
So I have seen You in the sanctuary and
beheld Your
power and glory.
They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
They will fall to the power of the sword; they will become a portion for foxes.
Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being
girded with
power:
You formed the mountains by Your
power, having
girded Yourself with might.
Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
Say to God, “How
awesome are Your deeds! So great is Your
power that Your enemies cower before You.
